I found Sofia after doing some research on Yelp! I purchased my wedding dresses from BHLDN online, so I needed a seamstress to do my alterations! Sofia was very responsive and has very fair prices for such a beautiful quality of work! She altered both of my wedding dresses, one of which was a more fitted/mermaid style dress and the other was a looser a-line style dress (BHLDN Elise and Rowland gowns). I thought my first dress (the one in the picture) only needed hemming but Sofia pointed out that I should add cups and taking in the side a bit and I'm so glad I listened to her. I was so nervous when deciding who to trust with my wedding dress. I did my research and visited 3 different alterations companies for consultations before making my choice. My dress was too tight in the hips/legs area and too loose in the bust area, and the first two companies suggested losing a little bit of weight to make the dress fit better so that they wouldn't have to let it out. I would not have trusted anyone besides Sofia to alter my wedding dress. I wore my mother's wedding dress for my ceremony. It is a 38-year-old dress and was custom-made to fit my mother's body measurements. Needless to say, the dress needed alteration for it to fit me perfectly. I was swimming in the bust area, and the sleeves did not fit properly. We had a few fittings, and by the end, everything held and hugged me to perfection. The vintage dress was in excellent condition but still very delicate. Sofia was up to the challenge. She had to work around the dress-making techniques used 38 years ago that are not so common today. I could not post any photos of me in the dress showing how long the train is because the image file is too big but let me describe it. The train was about 7 feet long and very wide! When it was brought up into a bustle, it was so bulky, and I did not like its look. Sofia was able to work her magic and created a bustle that laid more flat and modern for today's time. I would go back to Sofia with any fitting and alteration needs. I suggest you use her for yours too. She will treat your wedding dress with love and care.
