We went to try on dresses today and unfortunately the service of the woman helping us (Sarah) was poor. She had said that she would not feel offended if we didn't like a dress, but that was not true. She seemed bothered during the entire appointment that we left early. One person in our party had spilled their drink (not on a dress) and the woman helping us made snide remarks (have some champagne but let's not spill, K?) just mean girl vibes all around. Definitely not what you want to feel as you're searching for your wedding dress! We had a much kinder, professional experience at Blushing Bride. They seemed like experts too that were able to answer all of our questions. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend Archive due to Sarah's unprofessional, mean girl service. read more

This review is wayyyy past due! I went in late May with the idea that I was set on a different dress from a different boutique store. However, I wanted to look at my options and make sure I wasn't just settling. I had the pleasure of working with Tracy. She walked me through the options instead of just pulling things; she wanted to know exactly what caught my eye. She was honest on what suited me and that *made me feel very comfortable and confident. I appreciated her expertise. We pulled a few different dresses and everything was gorgeous. I ended up picking out a Martina Liana dress that blew me away. A part of me does wish I would've asked to perhaps add a glitter layer underneath but I know the order has already been placed and I don't think they can ask the designer to add in any changes to the gown. (Fixed a few spelling errors on my review but I'm so thankful for Paulette's response down below on the sparkle!) I'm excited to have my dress made and ready for the first try-on! Had such a fabulous experience at Archive with my stylist Kamaria! I came in a little nervous and worried I wouldn't be able to hone in my style, but Kamaria was so warm and welcoming and immediately made me feel comfortable exploring what I liked and didn't like. She did such an amazing job listening and helped me find some pieces I fell in love with. Our whole session just felt like a party between friends and there was never any pressure to have to buy anything right then and there. I researched several different bridal shops for my daughter (the bride to be) and we were both very impressed with Archive and with her stylist, Sarah!! The studio is located on the second floor in a shopping plaza across the street from the Carlsbad Flower Fields/outlet mall. I opted for the 1.5 hour appointment, which included a bottle of champagne as well as a personal stylist. They also offer a complimentary 1 hour appointment as well as a couple of other longer appointments. The studio is very clean, spacious, modern and well lit. I loved how each dressing area was separated a bit from each other, which allowed for a more intimate experience. The dressing room provided ample space for both the bride and her stylist to fit the gown before opening the door to the "viewing area" for the big reveal. The viewing area has an elevated platform and a large, 3 fold mirror with beautiful lighting as well as comfortable seating for guests. Sarah was absolutely amazing, selecting gowns in the chosen price range and in the style my daughter had described. She was able to expertly find "the one" and my daughter said YES to the dress! Check out was seamless, details were clearly explained regarding the ordering process, timeline and alterations. We never felt pressured or uncomfortable at any point. Before we left, Sarah gave my daughter a lovely little gift bag and even sent a thank you card to her a few days later. A wonderful experience and I highly recommend this bridal studio! I said YES to my dress!!! Such a beautiful, clean, bright and airy store. Sarah did a wonderful job pulling dresses from my very random inspiration photos. We did the 1.5 hour appointment (and added champagne) which was just enough time to try on about 6 dresses. I probably could have squeezed in a few more but I knew I had found the one. Sarah was fantastic at only pulling dresses in the price range that we listed on the appointment form so there was no awkward talk about budget which I really appreciated. They're great with communication and sending text reminders and updates. I came back a couple weeks later and tried my top contender back on and said yes! I am so excited. They do all alterations in house which I really like too. There is also a small selection of other, non-wedding dresses. While there, my sister found a dress she liked and wanted to wear to my wedding, so we came back the next week and they were so helpful and friendly when she tried it on! Archive Bridal was hands-down one of the best experiences I've ever had wedding dress shopping. I scheduled an appointment with them after seeing they carried a brand of dress I liked as my very first wedding dress appointment (bride here!). I came in honestly thinking that maybe this would be a way to try and figure out what I liked versus what I didn't, never expecting to find my dress. From the moment I and my group arrived (four of my very close friends, all with very different fashion opinions) Emmily guided us through the store, looking at different dresses, and giving me a wide variety to try on, while also respecting and being mindful of the ideas I told her I had. I cannot recommend Emmily highly enough - she made the process feel so amazing and genuine, asking me and my group such thoughtful questions that none of us had even considered, and at the end of the day made it easy to choose. She was also so kind when I said that even though I was pretty positive we had found my dress that very first visit, I couldn't say yes until I had my mother, my mother-in-law, and my sisters there (from out of town) to view it with me. She kindly helped me schedule another appointment to show them. A month later, when my mom, mother-in-law, and sisters arrived, I took them to some other bridal appointments just so they could get a taste of what other dresses looked like, but my mind kept drifting back to the five star service I got at Archive Bridal. Finally, I was able to take them all there, and Emmily made the moment special - putting on special music as I tried on what I had told them I was pretty sure was THE dress. Archive Bridal has an amazing selection of dresses to meet your budget and style. I currently live in the Bay Area and started looking for wedding dresses early on. During one of my visits to San Diego, I wanted to show my parents some of the styles I was thinking about. Little did I know I would find the perfect dress! For my wedding in June 2023, I said yes to the dress in March 2022! Archive Bridal did such a great job at ordering the dress, working with my schedule whenever I came back, and fitting it to exactly how I wanted - I'm petite at 5'2" but wanted a dramatic train. They even used leftover lace from the alterations to add to my veil which matched beautifully! Now that the wedding is over, we've worked with them to preserve the dress in a box to keep it forever. This was the first dress shop I went to just to get my feet wet with wedding dress shopping. Despite what I thought would happen, I found THE DRESS!!! I decided to try a few other shops just to be certain. I went to some of the most popular and sought after dress shops (downtown, Newport Beach, etc) and nothing compared to Archive. Alex made my first experience so memorable, she was so sweet, made it fun for my friends and I and did an amazing job with listening to my wants/needs in a dress. I had a minor freak out and they dealt with every concern and bridal nerves SO well!! Their quality of dresses is unmatched and the prices are great! So happy this store exists and cannot recommend them enough. I also love how it's family owned and their mother does the alterations. read more

I had THE best experience at Archive Bridal and I couldn't recommend it more!! I came in with somewhat of a vision and they helped guide me and ended up customizing a dress to become exactly what I wanted!!! I shopped around numerous stores and probably tried on a hundred dresses and ended up coming back to Archive. There were closer shops that had my same dress and that I had personal recommendations from, mind you Archive is an hour from where I live, but since they have in house alterations, I was able to work with the seamstresses BEFORE buying my dress, to ensure that they would be able to do what we were asking. One of the owners, Paulette, and her mother Ms Pat came out to help, and show us exactly what they would do to modify the dress. I liked this dress as is, but wanted to remove the sleeves to really emphasize the illusion top. While still deciding and trying to picture what it would look like prior to actually committing and buying the dress, Alex had the idea of wrapping the sleeves behind my back so I would have a better idea of how it would look without the sleeves. This was SO helpful and really helped me solidify my decision. I am very indecisive and especially with this big of a purchase and risk with all the changes, they were always very patient with me. We also decided on adding beading to the bodice and while there may have been some miscommunication on how much was to be added, we sorted it out and Nicole worked her fingers to the bone and did an incredible job!! Adding every single bead by hand over the holidays and while she was sick, she managed to pull it off in time and it was perfect!! Paulette was with us every step of the way and the other owner, her sister Maria, helped us at one of my appointments as well. They also helped me find the perfect veil and never pushed me to get the royal length when we were worried the cathedral wouldn't be long enough. They were always flexible with adding a few last minute appointments, including one for my veil, and worked with me to figure out that the cathedral length would be perfect (without having measurements by the designers). It was an amazing joint effort from several of the Archive staff. The only thing I would critique is that they didn't tell me they also offer cleaning and preservation! Since I had such a great experience with Archive, after my wedding I reached out to see if they recommended anyone for this service and they told me they offer it! I was shocked that none of the ladies had mentioned it previously! We dropped my dress off a few days later and it is currently in the process of being cleaned and preserved and I can't wait to see the results! I can't thank all the ladies at Archive Bridal enough for customizing the perfect dress and making me feel so welcome and comfortable. Thank you thank you thank you!!! Tracy was unbelievable. I went in really nervous and self conscious, scared I wasn't going to find a wedding dress in the short weekend that my parents were in town to visit. But to my suprise, Tracy quickly got to know my style and pulled the most stunning options for me and I found my dress. I was hesitant to say yes because it was my first time shopping for dresses and I only tried on 8 dresses but after leaving the shop without my favorite dress, I had to come back the next morning for it. Super nice women working there. They had a dress for the occasion and it fit well but needed to be hemmed. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't know the double sided tape they sold me wouldn't stick to the silky fabric. I even asked about it when I felt the fabric, and I'm not in the Bridal dress industry. I ended up with a day-of disaster because instead of having the dress hemmed, we used tape on the hem. It didn't stick at all. Just be aware to ask them to help you with double-stick tape if you have delicate fabric or girl just get your gown altered. I should've known better. Also can we talk about the Tata Tape? How in the world? It would be helpful if someone on staff here could give a tutorial before sending a customer home with a roll of this stuff. I'm sure it works well if you know what you're doing- we aren't professionals so it was a hot mess. read more
