Biscuits and gravy

For this diner, you wait in line to order. Then once you order, you're seated. It was probably a 15-20 min wait for us on a Sunday afternoon. Once we ordered, the food came out in 5 mins, it was shockingly quick! We got a pimento cheese dip and beignets to share. My favorite part was the saltine crackers that tasted like cheezits. The beignets were more dense than I would like. The chicken and waffles were delicious, just beware one of the cups has a liquid hot sauce- it's not another syrup container! The biscuits and gravy were also great. I appreciated that there's a water container so you can go refill your water whenever you need to.

Roux is a lovely diner with nice ambience and a cozy vibe. We arrived for brunch and there was a line at the door. We waited about 10 minutes and then gave our order at the counter. You then seat yourself and they bring the food to you. I got the biscuits and gravy and my wife got the hot chicken and waffle. Both tasted great and were nice breakfast treats. My friend got a group items for the table, including beignets and pimento cheese. The beignets were warm and delicious. The pimento cheese was incredible as well. I especially liked the fried saltines that they gave to tip in the cheese. It tasted almost like a fresh, homemade Cheez-It.

Came here for lunch and got the Cold Fried Chicken Salad. Lots of seating inside and I like how bright it was inside despite it being rainy. I didn't care for the cold fried chicken. I understood that the chicken was supposed to be cold, but my gripe was that it was dry. The salad itself was yummy though. The lettuce was crisp and went well with the sweet cranberries and candied pecans. Big portion size. Service was efficient. I would come back here to try something other than their salad.

Mainly went here to try the beignets but also wanted to try other things. The biscuit and grits were great!! The food came out really quickly and the service was friendly. The cafe is a lot bigger than I had expected so it makes for a great place to sit and do some work. I didn't care much for the coffee unfortunately.

I must say I don't love this place but I have people that I love that do love this place. So on this particular occasion I decided to order something different and this probably was my favorite thing I've ordered! It was light, flavorful and not doing much. If you like a Chicago take on a southern diner then this is a good place to go. If you're new to this they don't do waiting service you order at the front, find your seat and they bring it out. Really great if you're not into splitting checks.

We went to try Roux Diner for the first time since we were going to MSI. It's a wonderful spot! We got: Beignets: 4/5 very yum snd fluffy! Classic breakfast: 4/5 very standard. I did upgrade to a biscuit and it's well worth! The spot is very casual and you order at the counter and pick your own seats. The service was fast as well.

Went here for breakfast. We had 2 toasts, beignets, 3 egg omelette and assorted coffee. Service was friendly and prompt. The beignets were the best I have had outside of New Orleans. Great casual joint which I would come back to.

I came back to try the classic breakfast again with a biscuit and bacon. 10s across the board. It's still very clean. The grits are one of my favs. Now the biscuit is at the top of my list as well. Ammaaaazzimg ! I also collect point through the toast app. The staff were pretty nice and helpful.

Always delicious food. Diner but the food is much better than your average diner experience. Only knock is that it can get super busy and the wait can be a bit long. Other than that it's very much worth a visit.

This was our second time here & that says ALOT! we try not to repeat places, but I can most definitely say that this won't be our last! The food was amazing as an all day breakfast place too! I personally am not big on breakfast, but Roux has changed my mind. The inside is clean and well decorated, I loved the platters that they used as decor. The set up is a walk up order then they will seat you. Even if the line seems long, everything went by fairly quick! I think we were only seated for 5-10 minutes before the food came out. We tried the shrimp and grits this time around, and they were delicious. The shrimp were plum,p and the grits were cheesy and so good! We also got the beignets and omg the fluffiest I have ever had! The presentation was also so well done, they sprinkled powdered sugar on the plate, but it didn't overpower the beignets, so if you wanted more sugar, you could add it. The star of the show, in my opinion, are the biscuits. They are light, fluffy, and buttery. They paired it with this semi-spicy honey that complemented it well! Definitely a must go~

My experience was great. I enjoyed my food and I had a latte. I liked the quick service and friendly atmosphere. The bakery looked divine, so I'll have to come back soon for beignets and a cinnamon roll!

I like Roux.. the food is good (heavily salted ) but the set up and service leaves a lot to be desired. You order your food at the counter, take a number and search for a seat. Not my cup of tea for this price point.

Quiche of the day (red pepper and leek)

What a fantastic place ! Came with a friend. Delicious food! (I had the quiche, friend got fried green tomato tartine, we split beignets). Not sure if those from NoLa would approve but to me it was definitely like a place I'd go to in the French Quarter. I sat that like I know NoLa- ha. I don't I've only been there once. But it's great NoLa inspired food. Definitely would return. Good coffee too. Lots of seating. You order at counter and they bring you food. Please patronize this yummy establishment.

Classic breakfast with grits, biscuits, and sausage (hopefully a one off, burnt and rock hard)

The portions of each menu item is HUGE. Be prepared to wait in line for a table. No reservations taken, you just wait your turn in that line.... Food is actually pretty darn good. Rolls and fruit are complimentary. Their home made jelly and marmalade is absolutely delicious (OK, full disclosure: I grabbed a couple containers of the marmalade and carried them back home to Honolulu, I should have purchased their jar of marmalade which I didn't know they had. It was after and as I walked out of the Establishment that I noticed it. I shared the Denver Omelet and it was a good thing because that meal was HUGE. Looking at the food our traveling companions ordered only confirmed the decision to share the meal was the right thing to do. OH that darned Pecan Roll, recommended by our waiter was delicious and let me just say one bite curbed my sweet craving. Iconic Lou Mitchell's has been there for over 100 years. There is something to be said about an establishment in business for a century. AND the big thing? Close to the start of Route 66..... A must try and a must visit if you are in Chicago, let alone in the area

Because no way did we eat at the same place. WOW! It's only been a handful of times that I've had the urge to write a review while I'm still eating because of how amazing the experience is. The ambiance is bustling and will FOR SURE keep you awake as you fill your belly. And the burger? It's not just a burger, it's culinary art and a full on flavor experience. I was full well before my plate was empty, but I simply could not imagine reheating any part of it later. The egg was cooked to sunny-side perfection, and every bite was ridiculous. It's bar-style, so the fries came out first, hot and paired with a garlic aioli that absolutely did what it needed to do. Everyone moves with purpose. The food, the service, the atmosphere--this place is a well-oiled machine of greatness. 1000/10. Will absolutely be back.

Couldn't wait to try the famous burger that has been acclaimed to be the best burger in America…read morerecently by Bon Appetite and Food Network. We got super lucky and didn't have to wait to be seated without a reservation (which they do take reservations now by the way). We arrived around 12:30 on a Friday and sat at the bar. I will say, the service was excellent. The host and wait staff were very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. They all seemed like that actually enjoyed being there which is always great. The restaurant is a diner, so the vibes were pretty casual with medium to loud music. The place is a bit on the smaller side and very busy. As for the star of the show, the burger, I'll be honest, I wasn't thrilled at first. I ordered lettuce and tomato, but I took it off because I felt that it took away from the flavor. What really changed the game for me was adding bacon to the burger. Bacon on this burger was a nonnegotiable, and definitely helps bring out all of the flavor. We also tried the chicken, which is pretty good. The wings tasted like an elevated Chicago chicken wing with mild sauce. The fries could be skipped on the other hand, they were quite starchy in texture and didn't have much flavor without the accompanied sauce. Overall, this was a great experience and I'll definitely come back for the single burger add bacon.
