This has easily become my new favorite soul food spot. Not only does the food look perfect, the flavor was there too. I wish I had taken pictures of the restaurant itself it was so cute and posh. Idk who opened this place but they were heaven sent. Lamb chops and salmon over mashed potatoes? Those yams did something to me! I actually kept requesting we go back the entire visit in Chicago instead of trying new restaurants lol I just wanted to try the rest of their menu. So delicious. Service was okay.
I went here for the first time with family and I must say this place did not disappoint. The "flavor" was there in the food and the drinks were on point. Nothing was too salty. Normally there is a wait to dine or least a reservation is needed, but we showed up and were able to get a table. Our waitress was very friendly and informative. I didn't take pictures of all the food, but we also ordered the charbroiled Oysters, The Soul Trio, There wasn't a long wait getting our food. I would definitely come back and would recommend.
Absolutely exceptional food, service, and atmosphere! So pretty too! Everything was super flavorful. The hot honey lemon pepper wings are not pictured because they were gone fast. Some of the best ones I've ever had.
The greens...the greens!!! Kid you not after the first bite my head rolled back and my eyes closed. Basically, how I feel when I have my mom's greens. They were so delicious!! Okay, back to overall, I sat at the bar and ordered a strawberry lychee margarita. My bartender was wonderful. Everything was so good. The cornbread dipped in the wing sauce was amazing. The macaroni and cheese was some of the best I've had a restaurant! The banana pudding was yummy.
One thing that I LOVEDDD about this place was the music. Playlist was second to none! I sang and ate and sang more and ate more. Food was really good and what I expect from a soul food joint. The service as a whole was fine, but our server was a true gem. I definitely recommend getting there early as there aren't a ton of seats and the wait can get long. I will 1000% be returning to visit Soul Vibez.
Great ambiance with the booths and embellished pink decor. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly and had recs for every part of the menu. We were particularly impressed with the flavor of the jerk branzino, but wish it came with 1-2 sides automatically for that price point. Adequate warning for the sweetness of the lychee martinee flight was much appreciated. The cornbread with butter drizzle was another highlight for sure! A bit pricey but delicious food and a great recommendation
I would def recommend to make reservations as it fills up quickly. The food can take a little bit to get to you but the staff are nice and personable. It was a touch too salty for my preference but I would definitely come back. Nice for dates or if you're visiting in town
Oh my gosh BECKY!! This place was SO GOOD! We had the catfish and grits!! WHEW! Best grits I've ever had! We also had the Soul Food Egg roll, lemme tell you, this was DELISH!! That yummy sweet potato rue was fire!! The service was initially sub par, it took a bit long to receive the orders and the egg rolls to me should have come out at the same time. The catfish, The Mac and cheese, the garlic mashed potatoes, just yummy!! I was impressed by this place for sure! I'm definitely coming back! The decor was super cute! We sat outside and the ambiance was nice outside too! Removed one star for the delayed service, it really just took too long. But once we got our food, I was a happy camper!!
Babeeeeeee!!!! Soul Vibez was a vibe. I enjoyed everything m family and I ordered. Rockefeller oysters, kale/spinach grilled chicken salad, fried green tomatoes, lamb chops, salmon bites, Mac and crack. Woooaaah....everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I'll be back!!!

When I tell you this place did not disappoint it did not disappoint! From the excellent customer service from our waiter Abraham who indulged in our foolery amongst our table , to the food suggestions I am grateful for that . The bad and bougie smoothie was so very good fresh and tasty . The fried catfish was fried and seasoned perfectly. The macaroni n cheese and sweet potatoes were both divine. I also ordered peach cobbler to go to eat later . I am sure it will be delicious as well . 5 stars on this one I highly recommend you checking it out . I even have food for leftovers they give you great portions fyi .

What an excellent time I had here. I didn't have much time but wanted some breakfast. They open at 11am but by 11:15 every sets was taken! The server endured all my Chicago questions since I'm visiting from NYC. She was great, as was the food. I had grits, eggs, turkey bacon and banana pudding French toast. After finishing my meal, many of us struck a conversation, and we relived five of us were visiting Chicago for work. We all struck up a long conversation and made the experience even that much better. I'm definitely returning here on my future visit to Chicago. read more

Soul Vibes is definitely a place with a lot of potential! The food is good, the owners are great, and the atmosphere is exactly what you want from a spot like this. The energy, the music, and even the celebrities who stop through make it a place worth visiting. However, I do believe some of the waitstaff could benefit from additional training when it comes to customer service and attention to detail. One thing I've noticed during my visits is that certain waitresses seem to focus their attention on guests they assume will leave larger tips, while others receive very little attention. As someone who frequently dines alone, I find that disappointing. Just because someone walks in by themselves doesn't mean they deserve less attention or aren't prepared to tip generously. That person sitting alone could be the one planning to leave a $100 tip, but you'll never know if you don't provide them with the same level of service as everyone else. During my visit, my menu was extremely sticky, and the bar area needed attention. As a paying customer, I shouldn't have to wipe down my own menu or clean the area where I'm sitting. Those small details matter, especially when you're trying to establish yourself as a destination for great food and an exceptional dining experience. I genuinely wanted to give Soul Vibes five stars because I appreciate what the owners are building. My four-star rating isn't meant to discourage anyone from visiting. It's simply an opportunity for the establishment to improve in areas that can make a significant difference. The food is there. The atmosphere is there. The ownership is there. I absolutely love this restaurant! It was my first time dining here, and everything was amazing. I ordered the stuffed salmon, which was fantastic, along with sides of baked beans and mac & cheese. The baked beans were delicious, and I highly recommend ordering a side of their hot honey sauce to go with everything. My server was also absolutely amazing thank you Mashaya . I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend trying this place! read more

Wow! Visited Chicago for family and this one was of many places I needed to try. It did not disappoint! The food was amazing and the services was as well. We were sat outside which I am not mad at but I would have loved to sit inside to take in the venue but maybe on my next visit. I cant rave enough about how good the food was. Everything was spectacular. My only complaint would be when a tall young light skinned male practically yelled at me and my mom about entering the wrong door from the outside when we needed to use the restroom. We were inside when he made us come back out and go around to the front door. Extremely rude and loud for no reason. And then he proceeded to tell her where the restroom was only to follow us as though we weren't supposed to be there lol. Other than that weirdo the visit was amazing. Will definitely go back when im in town. Just make sure you guys dont enter the wrong door! Also be aware they will only split the bill 2 ways. Which I dont like. For this and the guys yelling at me had to take a star away but thw food and our waitress made up for it. read more

They don't seat diners the last half hour; only accept takeout. The vegan wings in the 226 sauce were so yummy! That sauce is bomb; they could bottle and sell it! The vegan beans and rice were tasty and the vegan mac was pretty good too! read more

First visit to Chicago and was looking for good soul food. I will admit the food was delicious! However it was an extremely long wait. It is an extremely small place. I think if you only have 3-4 booths you should place some kind of limits on how long you can sit at a table so that you can accommodate more customers. When we arrived we were told 15-20 minutes. We waited about an hour. Then we were told that we should just sit at a table near the door (that was not clean by the way) because if not we may not even be served. At this point we are 30 minutes in. I was not interested in sitting in these high chair right by the waiting area. We were eventually seated. It was a booth that was basically made in half so you it is semi-private and you are dining with people who are not in your party. Enjoyed the meal, however was not expecting a 18% service charge for a party of 2. The long and short of it, is the food was great. But I don't think I will be returning here. The music is also very loud and hard to have a conversation since everyone is yelling. read more

After seeing this place all over my Tik Tok, I knew that I had to visit Soul Vibes as soon as I landed in Chicago. Despite arriving close to closing time, the staff was very accommodating. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the customer service was on point. The decor was really cute, with plenty of cute photo spots. We started with the Lobster Deviled Eggs, which were AMAZING! Though I'm normally not a lobster fan, I found myself absolutely loving the combination. The Soul Roll, a fried egg roll stuffed with mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and collard greens, was also AMAZING. Such a unique and delicious combination. Chef's kiss. For my drink, I had a Lychee Strawberry Margarita, which was really refreshing and tasty. For my entree, I had the chicken wings with mac and cheese and cornbread. While the wings were standard, the mac and cheese and cornbread didn't quite hit the mark. Mac wasnt giving baked mac. It just seemed like regular macaroni. Our waiter mentioned that since we arrived late, the dishes might not have been prepared as they typically would be. Overall, my friends and I agreed that the appetizers stole the show, and I'd definitely return just for those Lobster Deviled Eggs and Soul Roll! The drinks were great too. My friends enjoyed a Lemon Drop flight. Despite the late hour, the staff never rushed us and even turned the music back on when we asked. If you're in Chicago, definitely make a stop here. Just make sure to go earlier to fully enjoy everything on the menu! read more
I came here for brunch with a friend of mine and honestly the food was amazing. The fried catfish was seasoned well and went well with the grits. It came out hot and flavorful. I had ordered a side of sweet potatoes although it was good I thought it was cooked down to almost a porridge which was different. The service was a bit slow and there is a one hour timeframe at a first come first serve basis. Overall, I liked the quality of the food. read more
This was absolutely a 5 star experience! Walking into this cute quaint space was very welcoming. Then I was pleasantly surprised by the service, the menu, and the quality of the food. We ordered the Dusse drink tower, salmon bite appetizer, lobster deviled eggs, and the brunch tower with lobster tails, strawberry shortcake waffles, banana pudding French toast, potatoes, eggs, beef bacon, turkey sausage, chicken wings, and oysters. Warning: Be prepared for a long wait for seating, place is rather small and highly popular. When I received the food/drinks, I understood why! Omg, the food is delicious! Drinks are A1. Food always consistent. Normally, I am afraid to order something different however I've been back twice within a week . Soul vibes is the place!!! definitely worth more great reviews might add the Cocktails are definitely 10/10 food always hot and consistent. I love the catfish mac & cheese sweet potatoes . They are a super small restaurant that did not have the capability to handle large crowds and their recent exposure. The hosts outside of the place were helpful 8/10, but I was so disappointed No lie. Brunch Food: 1. Lobster deviled eggs and fried Lobster with waffles. The food was just okay, but cold. I had to do takeout and eat outside bc the wait was over 2-3 hours long. Overall rating: 5/10. Absolutely everything was delicious. EVERYTHING! We started with the Hot honey lemon pepper salmon bites, so addictive. We also started with the fried green tomatoes which were tasty as well. For entrees we got the chicken sandwich and the stuffed salmon with the lamb chop add-on. The chicken sandwich was tasty though the chicken breast could have been bigger. The seasoned Fries were perfect. The lamb chops have a sweet tangy reduced sauce that was so good. It was amazing with the garlic potatoes. The stuffed salmon was good and so was the Mac and cheese. Parking was easy on this rainy day. Please get a larger venue! Please. Note: - The place is small and there was a waiting line the entire time we were there. I don't usually leave reviews, but my experience was so amazing that I had to let the staff and the world, know. On a random Thursday, my business partner and I decided to grab lunch/happy hour to catch up. I specifically wanted to support a Black-owned business, and she instantly said, "Soul Vibez." As a frequent TikTok viewer, I was excited to finally try it. We arrived right when they opened at 1 PM and were seated in a small cozy booth in the back. Our server came over cheerful and welcoming, asking if we'd had a chance to look at the menu. I told her it was my first time, and she smiled even bigger, sharing all her favorite drinks and how to get the best value. We decided on a tequila flight (blueberry, leche, and strawberry). She headed straight to the bar to make them herself and when I tell you EVERY drink was strong, fresh, and flavorful... I loved it! My business partner then whispered, "You know she's the owner, right?" I said, "No way!" She was so kind, down-to-earth, and personable. When she came back, she said, "Let's start with some appetizers," and recommended her favorites. We went with the deviled eggs with lobster bites and the jerk chicken egg rolls and they did NOT disappoint. Every bite was fresh and delicious. For our entrees, she again highlighted the top sellers and her personal favorites. We ordered the blackened catfish and the stuffed salmon. It didn't take long to come out, and when it did, it was beautifully presented and piping hot. Everything tasted incredible, and the service was consistent, fast, and genuine. The fact that the owner was our server made the experience even more special. I would've never known if my business partner hadn't told me. When we acknowledged it, she just smiled bright and said, "Thank you so much for being here and choosing us." I immediately replied, "See you soon, sis!" I will definitely be back. Cute little spot with AMAZING food AND SERVICE. We went for lunch while in town for a conference. The bartender served us. She was very attentive and gave suggestions for the regular and vegan menu. And our drinks were amazing. The catfish was fried to perfection. My friend go the vegan Philly cheesesteak. We had no complaints. read more

While visiting Chicago, we had the chance to check out a soul food spot called Soul Vibez-and first of all, the name alone is a win! The food? Absolutely incredible. There were nine of us dining, and just a heads-up--make a reservation if you plan to go. We didn't have one and ended up sitting at the bar, but honestly, it worked out just fine. The ambiance was great, the bar was spacious, and the service was top-notch. Everyone ordered something different, and of course, I had to sample a little bit of everything from my family's plates just to see if the hype was real... and let me tell you, nothing missed. Every single dish was amazing. I ordered the three chicken wings with macaroni and cheese and collard greens, and it was hands down some of the best I've ever had--so good it made me question my own cooking! I also tried the stuffed chicken breast, baked beans, hot honey chicken sandwich, and a sirloin beef burger. Every bite was flavorful and on point. I can't stress this enough--if you're ever in Chicago, do yourself a favor and check out Soul Vibez. You won't be disappointed. read more
