Had a really good experience at Diner Grill. It's one of those classic late-night diner spots that just hits when you want something greasy in the best way. I came in the middle of the night and that whole breakfast-for-dinner vibe hit the spot. Parking is street only, but it was easy. Seating felt a bit limited(12 or so seating across the grill) since it's colder out, but I'd definitely come back to check out their patio when the weather's nicer. The staff was super helpful with recommendations. I ended up getting the southern omelette, corned beef skillet, hot cocoa, and a short stack -- and yeah, those pancakes are a must. My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday around 12:30pm. Diner Grill is a cozy, neighborhood joint. It was busy, but luckily seats opened right when we walked in so we were able to be seated right away. Diner Grill is no frills with just a bar, barstools, and a view into the small kitchen. Prices on the menu are very fair for the quantity and quality of the food. I ordered the breakfast burrito and my husband ordered chilaquiles w/ chorizo. After you order, you see your order made right in front of you. My husband especially loves the chilaquiles because of how crispy and fresh they are (he doesn't like soggy chips!) and argues Diner Grill has some of the best. I was impressed with my breakfast burrito and enjoyed it! When the staff sees you winding down, they bring the bill; this is an eat and go kind of spot. We both got orange juices (LARGE glasses, we'll share one next time) and that plus our entrees ran us about $20pp with tax and tip. Very reasonable in my opinion! It's a divvy diner. Win win! We came here for dinner last night. I had to try the sliger. It was enough food for 3 people! Jeez! So good. So many layers. Every bite had more flavor than the last. Found this place through YouTube and decided to come here for breakfast on a Monday morning. I would say, come early because it gets pack real quick. The food is delicious, menu isn't big however it's enough choices for you to choose. I got a veggie skillet add chicken and avocado and it comes with pancake or toast. I was so full couldn't finish my skillet and usually I finish it. The chicken is well season and juicy. My boyfriend order corn hash with pancakes. We were sooo satisfy and happy. The Slinger is everything and more! I've finally got to try this diner, the home of the slinger. I've always thought the slinger would be a burger, but it's nothing like what I expected. Two over easy eggs side by side on top of burger patties on top a pile of hashbrowns all covered in chili. It is a huge meal. Definitely enough to share, but if you finish it yourself you can sign a certificate and put it on the wall. It was an interesting, tasty combo but with all familiar ingredients so it wasn't strange. I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I didn't get to be on the wall that night. I'll come back and try again! This place is small, cute, and gives the classic diner vibe with 10 seats at the counter. Best classic diner in Chicago! I needed a late night meal and this place was the perfect spot. It's a little diner with only barstool seating and super quick service. Their menu is HUGE so they have just about everything you could want from a diner. Everything we ordered was delicious, to the point that we had to stop ourselves from ordering more. They have a bunch of milkshakes to choose from (which is good because you can't go to a diner and not get a milkshake). Overall my best diner experience in Chicago. It's not one of those fake uppity places that design themselves to look like a diner - this is the real deal. What you see is what you get. This diner is my go-to spot with friends and family since they offer everything from breakfast to dinner items 24/7. They're always open to keep you fed. I mean it can't get any better than that, right?! It's like having a local Benihana! (maybe a little of a stretch lol) but the food is cooked right in front of you and is always good. Furthermore, the cooks are always nice and helpful in making sure your order comes out to your liking. Hence, I love their skillets and Cubano sandwiches, along with their pulled pork fries. The milkshakes are creamy and are worth the higher charge ($5.75) instead of a regular soft drink. This diner is rather small with only a few booths but remember you can always get pick-up or delivery. However, I think sitting down and hanging out with friends/ family really makes the place. I had a late night craving for a breakfast burrito and finding a good breakfast burrito in Chicago has been a struggle for me. I'm originally from California where breakfast burrito's reign, so the hunt to find something remotely close and good here has been almost impossible. Considering this place is a diner serving different American fares as well, I was very surprised by the breakfast burrito here. I don't normally ask for cheese on mine, and although this one has cheese, I still really liked it. It was like a 2am order through GrubHub but arrived to my door piping hot, and the green salsa was bomb also! I was a little disappointed that I couldn't call this place on the phone though.
