My friend and I came here on a Sunday morning for brunch. Even though it was pretty busy and we didn't have a reservation, we were seated within 5 minutes! I have been here for their breakfast. They have great avocado toast and they brew good coffee. I don't mind coming here for my daily Joe. Today I choose to have lunch here. And about 10 min after I give my order, which I start to feel antsy and wonder if they forget my lunch, then it comes and all the wait is worthy... Grilled salmon with on top of cauliflower cream and lentil carrot and red pepper spread, salmon is perfectly grilled, crunchy skin with soft and juicy meat gives the total perfect texture with great flavor. The cauliflower cream is delicious. I never thought it with grilled salmon would be great combo but today I agreed! I love cauliflower, not only because it's flavor but also it's healthy value. The lentil spread is truly flavorful and not too salty or sour. However I taste the hint of rosemary, which is an smart flavor for the lentil. The broccoli has hint of vinegar, which I think it's nice company with the dish. It's worthy for $18 but not higher. I have a cup of cappuccino after lunch. I choose almond milk for natural sweet taste for my order. Although the cappuccino didn't wow me, but it tastes good, and it's better than some other Cafés I had in city. Business is good. Seating occupancy is about 97% during today's lunch time. And I see return customers. Ambiance is casual but cheerful. Very clean place. However I do hope they have more selections for both breakfast and lunch, and hopefully they open for dinner soon, too. Since I really like my salmon I will return for other dishes soon. 5/22/2019 - I came hungry and had an order of boneless chicken thigh with Mediterranean sauce, with mash potato on the side. The presentation of the dish though, comparing to the other dishes on the menu, does have room for improvement... the mash potato spoon-dropped irregularly on the plate, with two slices of chicken thighs... But the taste of mash potato was delicious, and the texture of chicken thighs was fine and juicy. However I have to admit the plate presentation did kill my appetite for a little bit, and I couldn't finish the first thigh and had to doggy-bagged the rest of the plate. The taste of foods are good. This is the type of place that Great Neck needed! I met a friend (another Elite!) for brunch here and really enjoyed it. They allowed me to sit at a table while waiting for him. The ambiance is really pretty, open, spacious, sunny, modern, and chic. They have a cool Hamptons vibe that I was really digging. It's ideal for meals with family or friends. They have a small brunch menu, along with a longer lunch/dinner menu. Breakfast is served til 4pm. My friend and I both got coffees, him with half-and-half and me with almond milk. I got the salmon and tabouli salad, which was absolutely delicious. The salmon melted in my mouth, and the salad was the ideal mix of dry and wet ingredients (I don't know how to better describe it!); in other words, they complemented one another very well. My friend got the boureka, which looked awesome and which he said was "very good." The coffees were pretty pricey at $3.75 for a black coffee - pricey because it's "not diner coffee," in their words - but they didn't charge for refills, so I got my money's worth with my two extra cups for sure. Service was lovely, as was the overall experience. Also, the complimentary bread was a highlight - it's whole grain, and so warm and fluffy. What an unexpected delight. Just finished dinner here. My wife had Ahi Tuna over salad and I had Schnitzel with mashed potatoes. My wife had a ruby red grapefruit cosmo that was outstanding. The waitress was exceptional and friendly. Checked in multiple times with us. So great to have a perfect meal on a Friday night and such an unexpected find. We are definitely returning. A lovely brunch spot! A group of my friends and I celebrated a birthday here. It is a small spot so do make reservations in advance. Staff was courteous and welcoming to everyone. Traffic was horrendous coming to Great Neck but we appreciated the staff's patience as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. The food was really fresh and really good. Coffee and tea were great as well. My partner-in-crime and I both shared the Branzino and Shish Kabob dish. Branzino had a nice charred layer of skin and the fish meat inside was so tender. The fish was nicely seasoned. Shish Kabob dish had a balance of carbs, meat, and salad. It was yummy. We also had the Tuna Crostini, which was my favorite thing there! It's a tomato dish with onion, garlic and peppers comes out like a little stew then add two eggs on top put in oven let it cook. Pull out add feta and enjoy with a pita. Omg amazing. The only thing that I missed was a little spice. A kick would have killed it even more. But still amazing dish. Next time I'll just ask for a little more of kick cause I'll be back there. Came out across this spot in Great Neck decided to give it a shot . Such a beautiful and welcoming place . We were recommend two entree from the waiter and turned out to be the best thing we had. And let me tell ya, there was much debate on where we should go for brunch. haha I'm so glad Rothchilds was the ultimate choice! We went on a Sunday, around 1pm and there was a slight wait for a table, but not too bad (about 15 min). Rothchilds is such a cute place. It's not a huge restaurant but it's got a very spacious feel to it. My party and I liked the way the tables were setup; in a way that you never felt a lack of privacy even though the restaurant was full. Hospitality and service, from the front door to our server, were just wonderful. Very friendly and welcoming. Our server was very informative and helpful in our menu selections and answering questions. We were there for quite a while and never felt rushed or pressured to leave. What a wonderful, leisurely brunch we had! The food: Ohhhhh, the food! Everything was so fresh and well prepared...and delicious! From the first taste of the complimentary bread w.oil and vinegar, to the appetizer, entrees and dessert; you just knew this was quality fresh food. I was already plotting my return visit before I even finished my meal. Yes, it was THAT good! Here were our menu choices: ~ Bread w.oil & vinegar (complimentary for the table) - the toasty warm seeded crusty bread which we dipped in their oil and vinegar. It was said to have been cooked perfectly. ~ Rothchilds Benedict - this was my dish and it was perfect. Poached eggs on top of smoked salmon, spinach, onions and brioche roll; topped with hollandaise sauce. This also included chopped Israeli salad and home fries. What a meal! Tasty and just perfect. ~ Malabi - Israeli pudding dessert. This is another MUST HAVE. Even if you think you're too full for dessert, get this! Three of us shared this even though we were full, and this was just delicious. A light dessert but full of flavor! Loved it. This leisurely brunch was such a treat! So outdoor dining is comfortable , with tables set up on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. Barriers allow pedestrians to social distance and walk in the street protected from traffic. The sauce is so good I was mopping it up with that delicious multigrain bread between that sauce and the olive oil with balsamic they brought out I was dipping and dipping and dipping!!! Rothchild's is a cute restaurant with great staff. I tend to order the cauliflower, Caesar salad- which is very good I love the dressing- or a schnitzel sandwich with no tomato when I eat there. I will say the last few times I have been there, the schnitzel has been very dry and hard to the point where it's difficult to cut and chew. They have a wonderful selection of coffee and beverages, and I love the desserts. My go to is the apple pie with vanilla ice cream which makes my mouth water every time I eat it. You can think of Rothchild's as an upscale coffee shop located in the center of Great Neck. There is adequate seating and the staff was kind from the moment I walked in. The room was well lit and it was a relaxing ambiance. The number of items on the menu was just right - I immediately checked out the breakfast menu since my friend and I were technically meeting for brunch. I noticed their Boureka Supreme, which was only $9 and seemed to be a simpler dish (I was still semi full from Thanksgiving!). The cup of coffee was $3.75 (huh?!) but they at least offer free refills; it tasted okay. When I got the Boureka, I was very impressed with the presentation and its size (a bit bigger than I anticipated). It was very warm and absolutely delicious! If I make time to return the next time I'm in Great Neck, I would definitely try another breakfast dish. Overall, It was a nice dining experience where my friend and I were able to catch up while enjoying a delicious brunch. It would be nice if the prices were a bit lower, though I understand that the rent is probably quite high. Because this restaurant is located in an area strip of stores, it can get difficult to find parking.
