On vacation and found the perfect place for brunch! The place is cozy but open with some outdoor seating. I love how pretty their glasses are and sturdy silverware. For drinks - peach tea (not too sweet), and a huge iced mocha. Both good. For brunch we did The Berkshire Biscuit and Breakfast at Tiffany's Griddle Sandwich. Well the owner responded to my review about being refused service because we had Starbucks coffee and then proceeded yo mention how hard it is to run a restaurant... what? You turned down at least a $70 check and repeat business because other customers might notice we had Starbucks?!!! Came here for breakfast on a Saturday and had a great experience. Service was excellent! I was greeted and seated as soon as I walked in, had my order taken soon after, and my coffee and meal both came out quick. Food was fantastic! When we got out of the car, the scent of bacon gave us another clue that we were in the right place. That was the brisket and let me say oh my god. Plentiful and homemade bbq sauce on homemade bread and coleslaw was to die for. The potato leak soup of the day with fresh dipping bread was so yummy. Wish I took some home. Yes, breakfast burrito, egg and bacon sandwich, breakfast at Tiffany's sandwich, the Berkshire biscuit (oh so good), espresso croissant French toast - must try all were the best we've had and we are foodies. The side of sausage is unique and flavorful and the bacon is so good. Granola bowl was real Greek yogurt with jumbo blueberries and strawberries. We came on the 4th of July so it was obviously busy but we managed to get in pretty quickly. The service was incredible and we were well taken care of. The food was top notch and everything was great. All made from scratch and cooked to order. Loved our experience here on a recent weekend! We came in with a group of 4 at Sunday around 10am (what I consider peak brunch time!) and were able to be seated immediately. Admittedly it was winter, which probably helped. Our server came immediately to ask about drinks and answer any menu questions. The menu is diverse and seems to have options for many dietary restrictions - there certainly were many vegetarian options (including vegetarian sausage and a veggie 'chicken' and waffles made with oyster mushrooms). Coffees and waters came promptly and we were able to place our food orders quickly too. Another thing that contributed to the excellent service was that we were initially seated near the door on a pretty cold day, and when another table further away opened up before our food came, they offered to move us! The waffle was amazing - the Our group also ordered: the omelette (huge! came with AMAZING bread) the lobster avocado toast (well balanced, great portion size) the espresso croissant french toast (the sauces on this, specifically, were AMAZING. whipped cream, caramel sauce...some kind of jam. still thinking about it. it was super rich.) Food was excellent, we were able to share the Breakfast at Tiffany's Griddle Sandwhich with ease, more than enough, a bit pricey at 16.50 but ample & a step up up up from a regular BEC sandwhich. The food here is fantastic - it would fit in easily in terms of quality and inventiveness with restaurants in larger metro areas like NYC and LA. We especially loved the breakfast burrito with Canadian bacon. The guacamole is delicious and the salsa which must be homemade (and was a little more chimichurri-like with tomatoes) is fresh and something I wish was part of my day-to-day diet. It is the little things along with the larger ones that make this restaurant so good. The chicken and waffle and espresso croissant french toast are also good! Coffee - very good. Guilford, CT to Rochester, hate highway food, needed gas in Lee. I yelp up "diners" and got way more with Roses. Had a cup of excellent strong coffee (left my commercial chainstore coffee cup in the car because...really, who would walk into a restaurant with food or drink?). I wanted a western omelet, not on menu - had to choose ingredients. A little daunting but with the patient waiters help, perfect. Lots of veggies and Canadian bacon. Veggies were sautéed on the side, potatoes crisp, clean oil crisp. Small place, at the counter i was able to compliment the young chef who told me the mushrooms were sautéed separately (but of course). Made sure to stop by on the way home with my son. I ate the exact same meal, he had the chicken and waffle. Told me it was "great", keeps his reviews pretty short. I only make the drive twice a year, but if Roses is open, I'm stopping for a good cup of coffee and a fine, fresh meal. read more

We had come up for the weekend to see Trey Anastasio at Tanglewood. Roses was right next door to the Quality Inn where we were staying. Roses is a gem of a breakfast place. Clean, bright, and inviting, we sat down in a corner area and were immediately greeted. We were told that everything is homemade including the bread, scones, and croissants. We had their scone and when I tell you I'd drive back up just for the scone, I'm not even kidding. Tender, rich in all the good ways, and a pop of citrus mingling with the chocolate chips and dried fruit nestled in this wonderful pastry. A scone so good it would make the Queen proud. My husband and I both got create your own omelets. They were so filling with a nice portion of homefries and again, the most delish homemade white bread. I wanted to finish mine, but was pleasantly full. Definitely go with a hearty appetite. Coffee was excellent as well. I like a good strong cup of coffee and this was just that. They also have iced, cappuccinos, lattes, and a wide selection of teas as well. We will definitely be back on our next visit. read more

First, Roses used to be one of our favorite breakfast spots in the Berkshires when we went for previous visits, especially the blueberry pancakes! We headed out to the Berkshires a couple weeks ago as a tribute to my late father and we decided to go out to his favorite breakfast spot when we got there. It seems Roses is under new ownership and it has gone through some renovations and looks beautiful. We had to wait a little bit for a table. When we were seated and got our menus we were really disappointed to see there wasn't any blueberry pancakes :( The whole menu was a little to fancy for our taste, we were just looking for traditional breakfast at a favorite spot. Brunch at Roses was a rare treat. Sunday brunch time was bustling; service was prompt, friendly and consistent. We all were extremely satisfied with omelets, which included choices of many items such as vegetarian sausage, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, home fries, cheese, and more. The bread was excellent and so was the coffee. I was the only one at our table that finished my plate as portions were huge. After 2 years of living nearby, this has been my favorite brunch. And the Tiffany's breakfast sandwich was on crispy and buttery bread, packed with crisp bacon and flavorful cheese. The potatoes were very well cooked, far from soggy! Although the service was slow, this was some of the best breakfast I've had in a while, and definitely the best I've had in the Berkshires. Our choice for breakfast in Lee. Not that there are a ton of choices. :-) We went for breakfast, and came away quite satisfied. The decaf coffee was some of the best we've had anywhere. And apparently it really *was* decaf, since we were able to sleep that night. I had the belgian waffle, and my wife had a granola bowl with berries. The servings were generous, and the berries very fresh and plentiful. My only complaint is that the menu didn't seem to have as many simple and light options as I would have preferred. We were happy with our meals, and regretted not eating here again the following day, as we had a rather unimpressive experience at another breakfast place in Lee. Rose's has some outdoor seating. The interior was a bit crowded, but we were in a corner and didn't encounter any serious noise problems. No complaints about the service. read more
