Today I got breakfast not only was it ridiculously expensive but it was very mediocre at best. Thank you Yelpers for letting us know about Bob's. We were into a long drive and getting hungry and were delighted when we suddenly came across Bob's. We went in, enjoyed a delightful lunch, and wanted to share briefly with others. Bob's would seem to be a reliably good local stop, a diner/family restaurant that serves three meals a day, every day. We really liked their liver and onions (tasty if a little too overcooked for our preference), the big tuna melt and a fish fry sandwich with fries. Everything was pleasing, simple fare but good, and our server was attentive and speedy. The restaurant isn't large, but it is clean and so are their restrooms. Very happy we stopped here. read more

Came to Bob's on our last day in Massachusetts and have a wedding anniversary breakfast. Our server, Mary, was delightful. We loved hearing about her transition from Ft. Lauderdale, FA. This morning we got an unpleasant surprise from Bobs Country Kitchen. Ordered the usual eggs, hash and potatoes for $12.95. That usually all comes on one plate. Now the home fries come as a separate side dish for $4.75 extra making that $17.50. Coffee was $3.75 making it $21.45 plus tip. Need to find another place for breakfast. read more

Ever since my friend, Pisan Paulie, and his wife, Gloria, raved about BCK, it was on my food bucket list. On a beautiful, top-down day, finally made the 70+ mile trip. Open daily at 7, w various closing hours. Parking lot full, always a good sign. Decided to sit at the counter. Brianna brought a menu, and took my beverage order. Tracy profusely apologized (twice) for what she thought was the long wait time. I was surprised bc I hadn't waited long. Torn between the meatloaf and open-faced hot turkey dinner, Tracy steered me to the turkey. It was delicious, plenty of turkey (smothered w a nice full-bodied gravy), fries, and baked beans. Really hit the spot. Spoke w a bunch of locals, as well as non-local regulars that drive over from 30+ miles away. Intrigued by the dessert choices, but decided that would have to wait for another day. Bob's is a welcoming, homey restaurant, as comfortable as an old slipper, as cool as a butterfly kiss. A delicious, friendly, comforting breakfast stop. We stopped here en route to Jiminy and were pleasantly surprised by the homey atmosphere, service and food. My Bacon Eggs Benedict was hearty - bacon extra crispy and eggs perfectly poached - and my boyfriends' omelette was fluffy and packed with ham and cheese. The prices were super reasonable, which is a rare find these days. Needless to say, we'll be returning. Prepare for a bit of a wait if there's a rush of people, but it's definitely worth it! read more

We made our yearly trip to the area and stopped on our there for lunch and breakfast on the way home. We saw our favorite waitress, Mary, again. Unfortunately Paula was out due to an injury, but was expected to return later in the week. The meals were enjoyed my everyone in our large group and it's still the best place in the area for food and good service! Although I understand it's 30 min to closing does not ever EVER mean to rush around and forget your customers needs . And than not coming to the table for over 20 min while they clean and hurry to leave . You would think my drink I had waited for to refill for over 20 min would at least at least be voided off the check . But she took her time to add it on after everything . And than she acted annoyed when having to refill my drink after we All Had been waiting finished our meals and everything . Mistakes happen but this seems to be the normal there , Food is decent prices are decent , not for the experience we had though , there was 5 tables with 3 wait staff .... They acted like there was a 4 hour line to get in with 1 person . But they didnt ... they had a lot of time and resources . The young man working was the only one really doing anything helpful for tables .. the two older ladies were eating , and rushing to clean up . We didn't even get straws just rush rush rush to leave . With that said we never and hate to leave bad reviews but this one got to us . My son has multiple food allergies and our server Tracy went above and beyond to check labels on every pie. She was so good with our large group of kids and very efficient, too. At arrival, we were told they would seat us as soon as they could. After fifteen minutes we seated ourselves. An elderly couple that arrived right after us with the gentleman sporting a cane had to wait an additional ten minutes to be seated. The two waitresses were clearly overwhelmed. As we waited I watched meals set up by the kitchen sit there for ten minutes or longer. When customer meals were finally delivered, they were, of course, cold. When the customer complained, the wait staff was clearly annoyed. The solution taken was to microwave the meals in front of the customer! Clearly, customer satisfaction is not a consideration here. I watched them microwave dinner rolls, spaghetti dishes, fried chicken, french fries and burgers. When our meals finally arrived, my wife's spaghetti was cold. When she told the waitress, she said she didn't know how that could happen so I told her it was because the food sat for ten minutes before being delivered. Clearly angry, she told me that was not the case and that the kitchen staff was putting up cold food! I guess the customer isn't always right! She continued her ridiculous tale by telling us they had interruptions in their gas service that morning as if it explained poor service in the evening. The kitchen was keeping up with orders but the waitstaff was flailing miserably. I have eaten here for fifty, yes fifty, years. The food has always been just OK but in the last couple of years, food quality has tanked while prices have soared. The final straw was the snotty, uncaring attitude of a clearly inept and easily overwhelmed waitstaff. Keep driving, any place is better than this one. Arrived here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The table right next to ours, was a family with an absolutely insane toddler. This kid was screaming and throwing a fit that just would not stop. The parents did not seem to mind at all. I started looking over the menu, but just couldn't bring myself to sit and listen to this kid throwing a fit for the next hour. I had to leave. Sorry, but management needs to speak up when people arrive with feral toddlers. Nobody wants to pay money to eat in that environment. The second star is assuming the food may have been good. I ordered the Eggs and Meat breakfast for $9.95. Two over easy with link sausage (both vg, with the eggs probably being farm raised locals). Ordered rye toast with it. No home fries, and as I was on the fly, and I was served promptly as the room started to fill up, I ate and asked for the check. Much to my surprise, I was charged $1.50 for their marbled rye toast. WTF???? Where do you get off charging extra for toast and as I look back, two eggs with sausage for nearly $10 is plain and simply highway robbery. You folks need to check your sorry asses NOW!!!! Stopped here on the way home to Nj for lunch. We sat outside on their tables they had set up with umbrellas for shade, definitely appreciated this since it's been super hot outside and the eating inside restrictions. Staff was super sweet and attentive. Most of us (we were 8 people) had some sort of a burger platter and they were great!!! Food prepared in reasonable time and they got our orders correct. They took safety precautions for COVID like masks, gloves, condiments in individual servings, etc. definitely don't overlook this place & stop for a bite to eat. During these COVID times and all the restrictions in place most places are struggling. Just wanted to shout out & spread some positivity. We stopped here for breakfast before heading home after snowboarding and had some mixed feelings about the food. My partner enjoyed the steak and eggs but my food was on the border of being inedible. I love home fries but I couldn't eat mine, they tasted like they had been cooked in expired margarine or something - something was really off with the flavor. Same with my omelette, some of it tasted OK then I would get bites that just tasted really rancid. I'm not sure if this was just some expired food or something? I left grossed out and hungry. We walked in and no one greeted us even though the woman at the cash saw us and refused to even look up. Everyone who worked there looked stressed and angry. I ordered the eggs Benedict and it was not at all what you would expect. First off, it's overpriced for what you get. No home fries? It was such a disappointment. I'll go to Ottos and get a proper eggs Benedict with home fries for less money. Please just take the eggs Benedict off of the menu. If you can't actually poach eggs the way it should be, then just don't offer it. I don't know what a basted egg is but what I received were two fried eggs. The service was lacking and not friendly. I ordered something from the "house specialities" section of menu since I tend to think those are actually special. I would advise anyone to NOT get the "old country special", which is a disgusting scramble made with mushrooms from a can. How can you have a restaurant in a place with such beautiful produce and make a "house specialty" with canned mushrooms? Yuck. My son had one of the Benedict's and it was ok, but nothing special.
