Ever since my friend, Pisan Paulie, and his wife, Gloria, raved about BCK, it was on my food bucket list. On a beautiful, top-down day, finally made the 70+ mile trip. Open daily at 7, w various closing hours. Parking lot full, always a good sign. Decided to sit at the counter. Brianna brought a menu, and took my beverage order. Tracy profusely apologized (twice) for what she thought was the long wait time. I was surprised bc I hadn't waited long. Torn between the meatloaf and open-faced hot turkey dinner, Tracy steered me to the turkey. It was delicious, plenty of turkey (smothered w a nice full-bodied gravy), fries, and baked beans. Really hit the spot. Spoke w a bunch of locals, as well as non-local regulars that drive over from 30+ miles away. Intrigued by the dessert choices, but decided that would have to wait for another day. Bob's is a welcoming, homey restaurant, as comfortable as an old slipper, as cool as a butterfly kiss. Tracy (and Brianna) both exceptional. 5 stars

Wandering around MA/VT today. Absolutely delicious chili cheese dog and sweet warm hospitality inside. Will return to try other items on menu. Desserts sounded delicious. Chuck wagon casserole sounded intriguing. Polish dishes sounded tempting. Another time.

What a lovely family restaurant! We got breakfast...cinnamon raisin French toast with bacon and split a slice of strawberry rhubarb pie. So yummy! This place has clean well cared for restrooms. Helpful welcoming staff always on the move to make your experience better. It's a cozy atmosphere. There are so many options. People are in and out quick. It's a lovely spot recommended by a local where we stayed. Great place to have a yummy meal! Oops, I forgot to take pictures of food, it was good!

If you want good clean home cooking this is the spot! Old time Mom & Pop restaurant - great breakfast, fluffy fruit filled pancakes, they have polish sausages and real maple syrup ! We just went for dinner first time and are so happy. We usually have breakfast - I had cod and partner had the chicken . Delish home made mash and beans, the chicken was so fresh and not greasy at all- headed home with desserts. It's like visiting grandma !! A must to dine Post skiing a few miles away !! And the staff are super friendly too!

I was interested in visiting Jake's Java after learning Jake was serving in the U.S. Air Force when his aircraft crashed during a training exercise, claiming the lives of all eight crew members on board. As a combat veteran myself, I wanted to support a local business that honors service and sacrifice. This was my first visit to Jake's, and I'm so glad I stopped by. Not only was the food excellent, but it was clearly made with love. In fact, that describes the entire atmosphere. The owner, Jake's mother Kim, is a wonderful woman, and if you stop by, you won't regret taking a moment to say hello. I highly recommend coming by for a cup of coffee, a sandwich, or simply to pay your respects. Outside, you'll find eight beautifully crafted picnic tables, each dedicated to one of the fallen service members. Take a seat, enjoy the moment, and spend some time reflecting on the heroes whose legacy lives on here. Jake's Java is more than a coffee shop--it's a tribute, a gathering place, and a reminder that our fallen heroes should never be forgotten.

Shelly is behind the griddle and cooks up a storm. Tourists, keep in mind that this is not fancy with music and artwork for sale on the wall. This is a real diner with counter stools and booths. Toast comes with it (sadly not gluten-free), but you need to order and home fries, etc. I like that. You pay for what you want, not some inflated plate of extras. Note: you won't see the Greek Eggs on the printed menu. Ask for the specials. Greek Eggs are always there. My wife loved the raisin French toast. She said that it did not need syrup. This may be the smallest diner we've visited (one of them, at least) but it makes up for that in quality and attention to the customers. It's clean, efficient, and full of friendly people (staff and locals). The breakfast menu is simple: eggs, pancakes, French toast, omelettes, and the usual sides. We got 2 eggs over easy, one with bacon, one with sausage, home fries, and toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly (they look more done in the photo but were nicely runny) and the bacon was crisp and smoky. Coffee was good, staff were all super friendly - I would definitely go there again.

And no, I did not "tell them how to run their restaurant" as the petulant owner says below. To be helpful, since I was solo, I asked for a counter seat not a table though there were a bunch empty. The attitudinal counter person snapped "there's a waiting list." When I asked how long, she made a face and said "maybe 15 minutes." Seeing that there were at least four empty tables (and no visible line), and not really wanting to wait 15 minutes for a counter seat, I asked if a two-top were possible. Now she flips out and yells "I said 15 minutes, what do you want a job telling me how to run this place?" I've worked pretty much every restaurant job in my youth from busboy to dishwasher to waiter to kitchen prep -- including in the Berkshires -- and would have been immediately fired if I ever went nuclear on a customer over a harmless question. Instead I got breakfast at another -- friendly, family-owned -- Pittsfield diner, had a great quick meal and tipped 30%. Some people get so full of themselves and their drama. You're serving eggs to your neighbors, not working the velvet rope at an exclusive club.
