    Excelent food, best sevice,friendly chef and owner. You won't find a better breakfast anywhere in the Berkshires

    Delicious bacon cheeseburgers and fries from the grill. Time honored favorite at this place. Old time vibe.

    Old school diner, cash only. Good service. What I was looking for but otherwise nothing special. Good portion size.

The service was so friendly and so efficient. Since my friends and I are doing "dry January" we order faux mimosas...which we made ourselves at the table...sparkling water and orange juice. We had coffee and teas (a good selection of teas!) The two best items we tried were the Full Stack Lemon Ricotta Pancakes & the Eggs Benedict with Avocado, Bacon & Brie Eggs Benedict. The pancakes were lemony and creamy and not too sweet. The Benedict was savory, the poached eggs were perfectly cooked (runny), and the English muffins were toasted to perfection. The avocado and bacon and Brie was so savory and creamy and in sync with the hollandaise sauce. SO GOOD! We also had the Sweet Potato Bacon Hash, which tasted delicious but the texture was a little mashed potato-like. I wished the potatoes had a bit more structure. The Corned Beef Hash (side) was not special, just basic corned beef hash. Large fruit plate was fresh with a great variety of fruit! I will come back again for sure!

We started with the marinated mushroom & sausage flatbread: one of the better items and fairly tasty with a tomato sauce base, could have used a tart element like a balsamic drizzle to wake it up a bit. A beef burger should not have an intense taste of soy. Sorry, harsh but true. The exorbitant price is insult to injury. The ham and cheese croquettes should never have been offered with the cinnamon sugar dusting. Another bizarre pairing that makes no sense in your mouth and adds nothing. The dijonnaise was good if a bit mild... amp up the savory flavor and put more ham in the mix with a touch more salt please. Finally, the Public Salad was a good base but needs a bit of a vinegar component to make it sing. I'd recommend red wine vinegar, just a small splash in the dressing.     Best part of this place was probably the beautiful views! Worst service ever and food was just…read moresub-par. The best part of it was the drinks and the appetizer. We ordered fairly on time. No water, no bread. Had to ask for water. Our appetizers came quickly. The caprese salad was delicious. Then about a half an hour later our waitress comes out advising they were out of the venison. My husband had ordered it. She left to get the menu (when she should have had it with her) came back, my husband ordered the haddock. She said ok, left and came back about five minutes later advising that they were out of that too. At this point my husband had to look at the menu. Our waitress apologized for the inconvenience and explained how more than several dishes were not available and that they had to close the restaurant an hour earlier due to this. My husband settled on the salmon. By the time we got our food, it was cold. I ordered scallops. And I should have taken a picture - it was pathetic. It looked like an appetizer it was so small. The asparagus was cold, and the scallops had no flavor. I ate a few bites but it was so disappointing. The salmon was also just ok. Nothing special. Our waitress assured we would get dessert fast if we wanted it but we didn't wanna bother considering everything. She apologized again, saying she would talk to the manager and that he would come over to talk to us. He never did come over. They took off my scallops from the bill at least. But this was by far the worst experience ever. A few small suggestions and the experience may have been better - provide water at the beginning, we shouldn't have had to wait 1/2 an hour to get some, bring us the bread, we shouldn't have to ask for it and during the wait it should have been offered as a courtesy for the absurd long wait and frustration for not having the meal my husband wanted, and if you say a manager would come over, they should come over. The meal started out ok but it just got worse and worse. My husband and I paid our bill quickly and left. He had to get me food elsewhere as I was still very hungry.
