Tourists, keep in mind that this is not fancy with music and artwork for sale on the wall. This is a real diner with counter stools and booths. I had the Greek Eggs for breakfast, which is a delicious combination of Greek spices, potatoes, sausage and other yummy treats. Toast comes with it (sadly not gluten-free), but you need to order and home fries, etc. I like that. You pay for what you want, not some inflated plate of extras. Note: you won't see the Greek Eggs on the printed menu. Ask for the specials. Greek Eggs are always there. My wife loved the raisin French toast. She said that it did not need syrup. Shelley's Kitchen is, first of all, CLEAN! Major renovations have been done without the loss of the ambiance that accompanies an old time diner. You'll never find a sticky ketchup bottle there. Shelley herself is a wiz on that griddle! Your food arrives hot and as you ordered it. Someone, usually Shelley, always asks if your food is to your liking and she remembers a remarkable amount of information as to who likes which foods cooked a certain way. I am awe stricken by her talent. The food choices are quality diner fare. Fresh, clean, well cooked and just what one would expect in a quality diner. Simple comfort food, accompanied by friendly and professional staff. The customers seem like family there. One gets the feeling of coming home when one steps through the door. We went there for a family breakfast based on the online reviews. My granddaughter said it was the best omelette she's ever had. The blueberry pancakes were good. My mom's turkey sandwich was very good. THE COFFEE WAS NOT GOOD. This is an old diner and I don't think it has been cleaned properly since it opened. They use the old jars with the pour caps on top of them for sugar. I had to search three different tables to find one of the sugar jars that was halfway clean to pour sugar in my coffee. The other ones I looked at were just gross. They don't need to have a remodeled restaurant, but just clean the restaurant that you have. read more
