OMG... really. Financially, the cost avoidance on omitting toast and potatoes would have offset the labor for separating the yolk from the white. Also, they would have not disappointed a new customer. I sampled the French toast and it was good--nothing special. Ditto on the pancakes and bacon. I mean it was sort of like what our Moms and Dads would make--or if you are the mom or dad--what you would make; albeit the pancake was huge and fluffy. Ok--finally...did the waitstaff come by and ask how are food was...nope. I would have given this place 3 stars but between not checking in on us after leaving the food and not accepting a legitimate dietary-driven request, I am obliged to give it two stars. read more

Came in the other day for breakfast. This place did not disappoint! We love going to diners, so we were looking forward to coming. I think it's one of the better diners we've been to. They make their toast perfectly toasted and buttered. Loved my over easy eggs. My husband very much enjoyed his French toast and scrambled eggs. Their bacon was perfect!! I can't stand floppy bacon. Most diners don't serve crispy , perfect bacon , but Kelly's does. It's also kid friendly. It's cash only we well. I wish I took pictures but we were hungry and devoured our food. Extremely poor management. Called to speak to a manager regarding something I ingested and sent me to urgent care right after I left the diner. He was rude when I asked for a manager, didn't tell me he was a manager, he repeatedly asked me what I needed. When I told him about our waitress not giving me, " real maple" he got so defensive and passed the phone to apparently another manager, whom was rude as well. She was arguing with me about the many years they've been buying that maple syrup, and what farm. I said, I'm not questioning where you guys buy it and for how long. My concern is, when I asked for real maple syrup, the syrup was dark and thick, and I immediately started with a scratch in my throat, but I didn't think anything of it until I was feeling my throat drying and wanting to close. When I got in my car I looked in the mirror and noticed redness and bumps on the back of my mouth. I immediately drove myself to urgent care. My throat didn't close thank God, but they did say it was an allergic reaction to something in the syrup! They did not give me real maple, it looked dark and thick like corn syrup. when I called, all I wanted them to do was to remove it from their shelf and prevent this from happening to someone else.... but both managers couldn't and wouldn't help me out, they both got so defensive, I had to tell them to get management skills and I hung up. By the way their bacon wasn't cooked all the way and the pancakes turned brown, from their "real maple" they stated they gave me. read more

Always looking for local eateries, we tried breakfast with Kelly Thursday. We found it a real good place to have comfort food. The corned beef hash and eggs with their home fried potatoes with skins was truly a pleasant experience. Yes, the hash is canned but it was overshadowed by the killer taters. Sam Gamgee would approve. The coffee isn't Starbucks gunk, just plain java in a cup. This is an older establishment that has that well loved atmosphere. The nutty flu regulations limit seating but that can be worked around. Good food and good staff makes for repeat business. Bring cash and enough extra for a good tip to the waitress. read more

We love it here! Food is always fast and delicious, the servers are always happy and they keep the diner clean! What more can you ask for? My favorite is the pumpkin pancakes- they can't be replicated! My husband usually will order an omelet, and we've never had a bad meal here. This is a real authentic diner that seems to have been on this corner forever. This is not the place for yuppies or those who are looking for a menu the size of the Empire State Building. (If you are a New Yorker, change your thinking about the size of a diner menu.) I'm surprised there're no reviews here considering the popularity of this place. Always busy for breakfast, Kelly's is where you want to be. The staff is courteous. The place is cozy. The food is tasty and solidly portioned. And it's perfect if you're on the road. Small complaints are that I always end up surprised at how much I spend there. Maybe it's because the food is so tasty. Maybe it's because my friends don't pay their way. It's not expensive but you may be surprised like I usually am. That and sometimes the wait is kinda long. Small complaints. I don't come here often because it's a bit out of the way for me and is often busy (a testament to its quality). I work just down the road from this place and have had both good and not-so-good experiences with the service. The food is inexpensive and just OK...it's diner food. That's why I've gone there in the past. I love the "architecture"...traditional diner look and feel. When I have gone for lunch, I like to get the small spaghetti which satisfies my craving for pasta and it comes out quickly for less than $4 (with bread). Get's me back to work without a lot of waiting and a fairly large portion for a "small" spaghetti. When I've been there in the past, I see what others have talked about in their posts. The service can range from fairly friendly to plain 'ol unfriendly. On the whole, I've been lucky with getting the right server I suppose. But....the last time I visited, we brought someone who's sister didn't come along because she won't come to this Diner. We talked about how we've had pretty good luck. We actually talked it up a little. But this time, service was downright unfriendly. So we were a little embarrassed we brought a guest and talked it up. I doubt we'll go back. Left a bad impression that tends to linger. Maybe next year we'll give it another go. I do love the whole Diner experience. For now, we're giving it a break. Went to Kelly's diner for the first time (and the last), this past weekend. Unfortunately, the bad food wasn't the surprising part - it was the service, which was horrible. The server gabbed my husband's plate, while he was eating, without asking and tossed it in a dirty bin, and when he said he wasn't done the server picked up his food BY HAND and dumped it in a box to go. And said "we closed 15 minuses ago". And we are talking about 2:15 PM in the afternoon. I was shocked and embarrassed for us and for the couple we took with us. The location shown on the Yelp map is incorrect. Kelly's Diner is at the corner of route 8 and route 9 (Right next to the Autozone). Nobody beats Kelly's for lunch. Hands down the best French Dip I've ever had. Heck, the best French dip anyone's ever had! read more

Stopped by for a late breakfast around 10am (they start lunch at 11am). It was self seating with barriers between booths and our server was nice. Everyone was wearing masks inside and you are allowed to take it off once seated. They only accept cash and as mentioned in other reviews they do have an atm. i gave it 4 stars based on my historical knowledge. i was born in the Pitts so naturally i've been here more times than I can count. The place is one of your best bets for breakfast food. There is NO Denny's within 25 miles of Pittsfield so (thankfully) you are forced to go somewhere local. I haven't been here in a few years so perhaps when I go again it'll get 5 stars.
