Never had a rye waffle before, but it was very flavorful and had great texture. Salad (6.5/10): Salad tasted fresh. Felt like it was missing something in terms of taste, but not bad at all. It's especially excellent for breakfast or brunch; my go-to is The Molly, but all of the dishes are great. The baked goods and desserts are to die for. Breakfast out is something that I can usually take or leave, but Neon Newt is my new exception. The menu is short, sweet, and ready to accommodate a nibble or a more sumptuous spread. Between the apple cider rye waffle with a luxurious smear of butter topped with flaky salt and real maple syrup close at hand, fresh and flavorful sausage patty, and home fries topped with their green jalapeño hot sauce, I ended my meal satisfied. Good quality ingredients shine, and the waffle and sausage in particular were a testament to that. My partner gave the brewed coffee a thumbs up as well. Parking was at capacity when we arrived around 11am on a Sunday but it wasn't long before a spot opened up. Once inside, we were able to be seated right away. The mood was chill and staff working both capable and laid back. There wasn't any rush and plenty of space to soak up the morning. Thanks to Neon Newt, I can personally attest to the fact that they are amazing. Neon Newt is a small cafe in a small village on Mount Washington, Massachusetts. My dear friend Lys lives nearby and insisted we go when I was in town. The cafe is very clean, with excellent coffee and a funky decor. It's a cafe menu, heavy on breakfast items. A breakfast place grows in the middle of Becket open till 2 PM. Fresh ingredients and easy access off Route 8. Original items (note: canteloupe soda may be an acquired taste) along with standard breakfast fare (eggs, potatoes and slabs of home made bread $12-- recommend the rye). Help yourself to the water at the cooler with real glasses. Coffee arrives on the tepid side, but is strong enough to wash down the eggs. Prices have gone up since last year but that's the way it is everywhere. A good flow of customers and fast service. read more

What a great restaurant and atmosphere. The food is fresh and great. Try the cinnamon roll! Liz is amazing and has great taste...add cheese to the scrambled eggs. Abbot on the other hand is a rude server. Try to avoid him. He's know for throwing plates and spilling coffee at the table. Probably better to eat at the counter or just take the food to go.
