I live in the area and was craving pizza, so I decided to try Route 8. I usually go get pizza from 30 minutes away. I'm not usually picky about pizza. It's my favorite food. The online menu says the crust is made with local sourdough. I think this made the crust very tough and almost hard. Took a long time to chew and I thought I was gonna lose a tooth when I took a bite. The pepperoni on my pizza was tiny. Like maybe the size of a quarter. They didn't taste good. The sauce was meh. Maybe too sweet? The cheese was ok. Wouldn't get pizza from them again. read more

Great little place with indoor and outdoor seating. Clean inside with plenty of tables and a long bar. Food was great. Burgers are excellent, as well as salads. Very accommodating with dietary restrictions. Very much appreciated. Service was good. Nice staff that took care of us. Food was delivered pretty quickly and water jugs were kept full. Food is good and prices and about right for the area. Cheaper and better quality than Papa Bob's.. They also don't alienate thier regulars... Way more honest and better at running a business than down the street. Never had ghost items mysteriously on the bill. Like down the street.. The food and service was amazing. Honestly I haven't had this good of a burger in such a long time. The fries and onion rings are amazing as well as their brownie sundae! This is a definite place to visit especially if you just came from Becket Quarry!!! read more

A warm welcoming atmosphere up here in lake territory. Breakfast - eggs, bacon, toast - was terrific, coffee good and strong. Real maple syrup and butter for my pancakes. Five stars if the pancakes were lighter and less doughy. Looks like they offer all three meals plus some game time experiences with a full bar and special appetizers including $.50 wings Baked goods, a full deli and a store in back. Close to the house - solid service too. Give it a try!! read more

The owner (Heather) sent this message to my family member "Please stop coming to the Becket Store, your continued negativity is not appreciated and there's no place for people who live on social services to afford these types of meals or spend their money on lottery, I wish you well. Get a Job" My family member who is a longtime Becket resident 30+ years has been supporting this store since they opened. Over the weekend my family member went in the store & while there asked the worker if the menu was the same (since COVID), the worker stated, yeah but only for about another week or so then it'll be different. At that time my family member said "oh okay, I'll stop back next week and grab a new menu" the reply she got was " actually we wont be providing any paper menus, we are actually trying to save the trees" frustrated with the attitude. my family member stated "well that's a mistake, amongst others" (due to raw/undercooked and overpriced food in the past). the worker then tossed her money on the counter and walked away. Later that evening, Heather (the owner) sent nasty degrading text messages to my family member telling her to stay away from her store and she is "black listed" for her negativity.. It's absolutely appalling that an business owner would act in this manner and is discriminating against those who receive assistance. read more

Food was good but wait staff was rude. I have gone to the pub many times since moving to town last year. I went on a Friday and the waitress was fantastic and the food was good. She mentioned I should return on a Saturday because they have music. I returned with some out of town guests on a Saturday and the waitress was very rude and the manager made fun of my guests. It was very embarrassing to have told my guests what a nice place this was and then to be mocked because of our clothes. read more

We stop by Route 8 every time we're in the area! The food is always amazing, lots of selection with fresh salads and specials that change every day. They don't do breakfast, but I eat brunch there and enjoy a mimosa or two! The bands on Saturday's are always a hit and I love being able to make it for open jams on Wednesdays- always a friendly, warm and laid back vibe with great food and drinks, so fairly priced. The most rude and unprofessional establishment I've ever been to. I would not recommend this pub because they are extremely rude to costumers and their food is mediocre. I was refused service because they did not think I was from the area... although I am. The waitress was extremely hostile and threw all of my change at me, and the manager found it appropriate to make fun of my clothing. This pub is the worst experiance I've had at a restaurant and was completely unacceptable. I would rate it a 0/10 but that's not possible, so I give it a 1. read more

We're always looking for new places to try out for Breakfast. The Becket General Store is about 14 miles from our home, but, since it was raining out, we decided it would be a nice drive to check out this new place, (at least new to us). Upon arrival at the General Store, the colonial style building looks amazing. Once inside, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who immediately took care of our drinks and gave us menus. There was a good variety of breakfast foods & the prices were very reasonable, but, the true test was going to be the quality of the food. I ordered a ham & cheese burrito with a side of home fries & my wife ordered the short stack of blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon. Within the first couple minutes of tasting our breakfast, we knew this was going to be one of our new "GO-TO" places for breakfast!!! The food was AMAZING!!! This was just like waking up to a home cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. Even though the Becket General Store is 14 miles away, it was WELL WORTH THE RIDE!!!!! Had a bowl of "mushroom soup" the other day at GBS. Service was warm and friendly. Unfortunately, the soup was neither: it appeared, and tasted, like someone had thrown a pile of sliced mushrooms and some onions into a broth of dilute milk, and started to heat it, but even that was unsuccessful! I've experienced dishwater with more character. The one star was earned strictly from the quality of the waitstaff. read more
