Berkshire Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in South Deerfield, Massachusetts in 1994…read more It was founded by brewers Gary Bogoff and Christopher Lalli. Bogoff was originally a general contractor and cabinet maker before he took up home brewing as a hobby in 1991. He and Lalli would soon realize that they both had a passion for quality beer, so they decided to open their own brewery. They had a dream to introduce premium lager drinkers to the world of quality craft beer. The location they picked in South Deerfield to house their new operation was a former cigar manufacturing plant. By word of mouth, and taste buds, their flagship beer "Steel Rail Pale Ale" became an instant success with beer drinkers in Western Massachusetts. All BBC beer is unfiltered, unpasteurized, and contains no chemical additives or preservatives. Lalli would leave the business after 20 years, but Bogoff continues to grow the company. BBC is now one of the largest craft breweries in New England. My wife and I first visited Berkshire Brewing Company in April 2014. This was one of the first craft breweries that we ever visited and toured. It's relatively close to the popular Yankee Candle Village. At that time, tours were only done on Saturdays at 1:00 PM sharp. Our tour guide was Bob Migliaccio, who was the brewmaster at that time. He asked everyone to simply call him 'Brewmaster Bob'; he was quite the character. We were really impressed with the facility and all of the equipment. As you can imagine, customers were treated to generous samples of beer in the 'Dick Schatz' Tap Room. Schatz was a retired volunteer who worked at BBC until he passed away in 2006. He donated his large collection of beer memorabilia to the brewery and it now adorns the taproom. Not only did customers get to sample several of BBC's mainstays, but even some experimental beers that weren't available to the general public. My favorite BBC offerings would have to be "Green Gown Double IPA", "Drayman's Porter", "Coffeehouse Porter", and "The Russian Imperial Stout". Although several New England craft breweries have come and gone over the years, BBC has persevered for nearly 30 years and I hope that they continue to brew excellent brews for several more years.

I had the "Our mother of the Mountain" wife had "Maple Cream Ale" both beers were super flavored and full bodied. We ended up taking a four pack to go. The atmosphere was friendly and a good mix of locals and tourists

Not many of the restaurants in Lenox are open for lunch on Mondays, but no worries...all you need…read moreis Antimony! We were eager to try their beers, so naturally we started with a beer flight and enjoyed all of our choices, including the light Lunch Break Ale, the Inner IPA, the seasonal Pumpkin Ale, and the Spectral Brown Ale. I'd probably skip the Lunch Break, but would absolutely order the other 3 again. Sticking with the flight theme, they have a soup flight option for lunch! The poblano corn chowder was good, but my least favorite of the three - you definitely get the poblano flavor, though it's not spicy. I prefer a thicker chowder, but it was a nice light version. The stout onion soup was delicious, with lots of onions and cheese, and croutons which made it easier to eat than one hunk of bread. But...it was way too salty. The chili is very good. Thick and hearty, with a medium heat level and it went very well with the Spectral Brown. I only got to try one small bite of the Reuben, but it looked delicious and the corned beef was tender with a good purple cabbage crunch. The interior is spacious and nicely decorated, but we were thrilled to enjoy the sunshine on their front patio aside the spectacular wolf mural. Lacey checked on us and made sure we were pleased with everything. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area.

Welcome to the Disneyland of Brewery's . Lots of kids ,…read moreoverpriced food and drinks . But a good time . The place is amazing , I've been to a few different locations . The Beers are good , very good , but Great ? Waiting in line for a 1/2 hr . I don't think so . The pizza , the tables were 1/2 occupied and the pizza was an hour wait . They were right on , it was an hour and 5 minutes . The pizza was good , the cheese side was very plain , not much flavor , a little disappointing. The pepperoni side was much better , tons of small pepperoni that cup up were so good . Cant wait to reheat my leftovers . Drinks $9 each x2 and one $25 pizza . At least parking is free ( for now )

There's plenty of room to spread out, and you can even order pizza right inside, which makes it easy to settle in for a while. I started with Old Man of the Mountain and Jjjjjjjuice Affair on tap, both excellent. For round two I went with Fellowship Maple and Julius, which I believe is the OG, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. Before leaving, I used the app to order a ridiculous amount of beer to go, including the infamous Green. The app made the whole process smooth, and I walked out well stocked. Can't wait to get back. Treehouse is a must-visit for any craft beer lover. New England has the best beers in the entire country.
