I just spent 7 nights at Seven Hills Inn. It's a wonderful place to stay. No it doesn't have all the fancy amenities but they have what you need. A wonderful spread for breakfast. Activities in the huge area if you don't have plans for the day. Horseshoes and cornhole. Great time. will definitely return.

I stayed at Seven Hills Inn for one night during my trip around the Berkshires and my experience was a-ok. Nothing terrible happened but I also wasn't impressed enough to shell out 4-5 stars. First the good: -The main building of the inn is historic and is gorgeous, as is the courtyard area with the row of trees and a nice outdoor seating terrace area. -Staff was very friendly during check in and out and seemed to take Covid-19 safety measures seriously -The location is great for exploring Lenox and Stockbridge. The inn is literally right next door to Edith Wharton's Home, The Mount, which is absolutely worth a visit. -The bed was super comfy and we fell asleep very easily. -complimentary bike rental service for guests The not so good: -the breakfast to go provided in the morning at the reception area was lackluster. Oranges and apples, packaged Chobani yogurt cups, and packaged processed blueberry muffins (the kind that is shelf safe and have like, indefinite expiration date) and sugary cereal boxes with milk. A paper bag was given to put everything in which was a nice touch but I guess I expected something less processed and more homemade since this is a historic inn. Instead of a classic bed and breakfast experience, it felt more like a fancy motel. -Speaking of fancy motel, another reason I felt this way was due to lack of character in the room. It was modern and well organized but every room pretty much looked the same. One of the reasons one might choose to stay at an inn or bed and breakfast and not at Hilton or Hyatt is that they want to experience something with originality and character that sets them apart from your typical Holiday Inn. Other than the public area of the main building which was gorgeously appointed with antiques and unique details, everything else felt like a mundane biz hotel. -room looked tidy but there were some areas that could've been paid attention to more, such as dead flies and mosquitos still laying around in the windowsills and loose fringe of the shade still hanging. -shower pressure wasn't too great and it took quite a long time just to try to take a shower. I think there is so much potential here to get this place to 4~5 stars if more attention could be placed on reviving and retaining the original charm instead of trying to make it "trendy" and improving the perk factor like breakfast. It could even be less variety of things but simply offering fresh muffins baked in house or even from local bakery and again, locally sourced granola for yogurt and fresh fruit cups with the usual coffee and tea would've been much better experience that also highlights local Lenox products and businesses than everything that came from factory by big food manufacturers like Chobani and Kellog. The nightly rate is reasonable and if you have clear expectations that this won't be a quaint classic New England Bed and Breakfast but more like a comfortable place to stay for the night, the value for your expense is fair.

This Inn has such potential, but is very tired and in need of some attention. We arrived in October of 2020 and the grounds were not well maintained. The common areas of the Inn were in need of a good cleaning - carpets needed to be vacuumed, wood staircases needed to be washed, and floors swept. Our room itself was clean and comfortable, but lacked personality. Our bathroom was tiny - as wide as a stand up shower and about 5-6 feet long. The shower curtain smelled musty. The windows were beautiful throughout the main house and the art of the musicians in the common areas was interesting. The view off the back of the house is lovely, but the grounds need work. Next to the the main house is an detached building that looks like a roadside motel in need of serious work. It is part of the Inn, so I would recommend booking in the main house.

laundry outside our room for hours

What a dump. Simply the most uncomfortable hotel I have ever experienced: dirty towels in big plastic bags outside our room for hours (finally had to ask for them to be removed) the metal hinge on the toilet seat is rusting and literally scratches your butt, no side tables at the bed, no dresser, no surfaces for your clothes. The lighting is like a men's college dorm, there are no surfaces in the bathroom to put toiletries other than the toilet, only 1 tiny bar of soap and tiny bottle of body lotion for 2 people. This morning, emptyish wine glasses greeted us at the stingy breakfast of bagels and yogurt. Stingy, cheap, careless. This is remarkably ungracious and expensive. This is the hospitality buiz. You would never know it in this run down inhospitable place. Wow. Don't go.

In late 2006 a couple rented out this whole Inn for the weekend so that their guests could come from all over New England and up from NYC to attend their wedding. I was the photographer. The event was a hoot from Saturday through Sunday, the food was pretty darn good- the desserts were the best, chocolate mousse cake, red velvet cupcakes, yum! The staff was flexible and helpful. The weekend went off without a hitch. The accommodations in the guest house (not the main house) feel very country New England roadside motel (but not in as negative a sense as that could sound like). The quarters in the main house are gorgeous with huge windows, restored antique furniture, and beautiful decorative touches. The grounds (especially in fall with all of the foliage out) are really, really pretty.

Gorgeous gardens at Seven Hills Inn, Lenox, Mass.

The Cornell Inn is simply and easily the cleanest place I've ever stayed in the world (and I've stayed in 5 star hotels like Intercontinental Istanbul, Intercontinental Los Angeles, Ritz Carlton Central Park South, and Trump International NYC). The suite was large and elegant and comfortable and everything in it was absolutely spotless. The staff were kind and helpful, eager to swap out the complimentary bottle of cabernet (?) for my wife's preferred chardonnay, and provide us with several brownies. Breakfasts were very good. I really don't have a single complaint, can't wait to stay here again in the future!

They told me to go outside and next door to the neighboring property to use the bathroom in the lobby. I did that at 6:30 am. I waited & they never came. I called several more times and the emergency line was surprised that no one showed up like they said they would. Lobby opens at 8am, I called and no one answered twice. I had to go over in my pajamas next door & through the dining room where people were eating breakfast & to the lobby to get them to fix my toilet. I told them I don't want to have to take my morning dump in the lobby. The woman in the lobby said she had no idea what I was talking about, wow! Finally, someone came and fixed it at 8:20. I did not get any sleep. No one here gives a crap, literally. Thanks for nothing. I do not recommend this inn. Later, I was told by the rude & dismissive front desk woman that a broken toilet is not an emergency & after all this, I understandably lost my temper and used profanity, which I regret. However, the complete lack of basic service and communication here remains entirely unacceptable. This was a total failure to provide basic sanitation that I paid for.I hope karma has its way with this place!

I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.

As a…read moreformer Diamond and now a Gold member of the Hilton Honors program, I have a certain amount of loyalty to the ever-expanding Hilton brands and have probably stayed in around 100 Hampton Inns over the years. This one is a mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible or great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though. However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited. Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this older Hampton.

The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge.
