We stayed at the Chambery Inn this weekend. It was beautifully maintained, clean, a great location, easy/contactless check in and check out. We were asked our wine preference and a delicious bottle of red wine was waiting for us. It was also great to see some of the pieces of the schools history maintained and fun reading all the notes left on the chalk boards by previous guests. There was keurig machine in our room and outside in the hallway as well as an espresso machine, both fully stocked with lots of great options! We happened to be there over Memorial Day weekend so had a nice view of the parade sitting right outside of the Inn! We will definitely be back! read more

Wow!!! This place is literally a gem! I'd give 10* if I could. Vibrant, cozy, historic, clean, perfectly maintained in every single detail! Absolutely charming, clean, and well-appointed country inn. We made a one night stop in the Berkshires on our way back to Pennsylvania to visit the Norman Rockwell museum and Stockbridge. The inn is located in the town of Lee which about ten minutes from Stockbridge -- it's an idyllic country town with several great restaurants within walking distance. The check-in process was very efficient, and since our room was on the lower level we were able to park in the rear for lower-level access (no stairs is always a plus when the suitcases are at max capacity). We stayed in the La Savoie room which was beautifully furnished including two chaises, a very comfy king bed, and a two-person garden tub. Barware and an in-room fridge was available. The owner was on-site at check-in, and explained the inn's history as a school that was moved and converted to an inn to rescue the beautiful old building from demolition. The only downside was the TV that wouldn't turn off...we're still not sure if it was ghosts of parochial school nuns still trying to torment my husband 50 years later or our lack of prowess with technology! The in-room morning breakfast basket was a welcome addition -- the cinnamon scones are among some of the best we've had. Perfect country inn; highly recommend! read more

Stayed here for a birthday weekend getaway with my adult daughter and I'm so glad I chose this Inn. It was just lovely. We stayed in the Sedgwick Room, which I understand is the only room with two beds. It was easily accessed through the front door. The room was beautiful! Large room, super high ceilings, two big comfy beds and a gas fireplace (which I didn't think I would enjoy in August.. but totally did!) You control your own temperature and it was always pleasant. It was impeccably clean and fresh. The Inn is very quiet and relaxing. The self-check in was quick and easy. Each morning a basket arrives outside your door with the most delicious coffee and breakfast of your choosing. We had scones and quiche and muffins... delish! The Inn is located in Lee, an adorable town on its own but quickly realized everything we wanted to go do or see was basically no more than 10 minutes away. Lee/Lenox/Stockbridge basically make a triangle with 10 minute sides. Super easy to get to places and park, even on a busy Saturday when it was a bit more crowded. We went to Tanglewood rehearsal (don't miss this! Walk the grounds listening to amazing sounds! Tip: buy the lawn seats, no need to go higher) ...then the Norman Rockwell museum on the first day. Antiquing and toured the Edith Wharton house the next. We had lunch at the spot of Alice's Restaurant the first day and on the terrace at the EW house the next. We had dinner both nights in Lenox. I highly recommend both Alta and Zinc if a bit pricey is okay with you. Amazing food at both. I recommend advanced reservations for good dinner times. I could go on and on. So many fun things to choose from in this area and it was awesome coming back to rest in such a wonderful room. We also ordered the cheese plate to be in our room which gave us something to nosh on when needed and was super delicious and abundant. This would be a great romantic getaway as well. If you are lucky enough to get availability... definitely book this place! It's close to perfect. My only con... they offer a cash discount which was nice but there was no safe in the room. This meant holding on to a wad of money all weekend until check out. Slightly unnerving to carry/leave in your car /have on your person. Not that I ever felt unsafe at any moment in all our time here... very safe area from our experience. We took a late night stroll down Main St in Lee one night and it was so quaint and quiet. All of the shops close around 5 pm so not a lot of night life here... just nice people, good restaurants, peace and quiet, fresh air and beautiful mountain views. I am not sure who is posting positive feedback for this establishment, but I think there is a big difference from what I read and what I found. This place is awful! I had the handicapped room in the back (street level), and it was just a dreadful experience. Musty carpets, tiny broken TV, no insulation from the cold and street noise, no heat in the room (they provide a space heater!!!), no salt on the driveway when ice and snow, no front desk staff most of the time!! (we had to chase down the young lady to ask for coffee), the coffee maker is a joke (does not produce hot beverage), uncomfortable beds. Stay away from this place, anywhere else is going to be better. read more

I had made a mistake on the place I booked for a one night getaway. My wife and I decided to pursue another option after seeing the place. While at dinner, I called Chambery Inn. We only needed one night, and I think previously the website would not take just a one night reservation. I understand that. But as luck would have it, there were two rooms available. We just returned from our third overnight stay at the Chambery Inn. We had reserved one of the smaller rooms which we have stayed in before which we have found to be clean, comfortable and convenient. We arrived this time to be surprised with a complementary room upgrade to one of their larger rooms. This room was also clean, comfortable and the bed and comforter were very comfortable and warm on what was a brutally cold night. We were late putting out our breakfast request but the staff filled our request anyway and delivered a nice hot breakfast to our door. The coffee is good and hot and the quiche is really delicious! We will continue to stay there when visiting Lee, MA. read more

If you like Bed and Breakfast spots, you will enjoy this one! We had an old school room with a long chalkboard as our home away from home. Very spacious and quiet. Most of the time we felt like the only ones there. Only saw staff once (due to Covid) but they were very friendly and helpful. We were there to visit the Norman Rockwell museum in Stockbridge, but also enjoyed the lovely town of Lee. Breakfast was nice and food options around town were delicious. My family and I were supposed to be vacationing in NM last week but that got cancelled due to Covid-19. So my wife and I decided to get away just for 1 night and decided to give the Chambery Inn a try and enjoyed every second of it. The staff was wonderful and courteous and did a great job even with social distancing protocols in place. We got the fire spa suite which consists of a fire place, 2 person hot tub and was very spacious & beautiful. Our room even had a chalk board on the wall for you to write on, which may have been left over from when the bldg used to be a school house many years ago. My fiancé and I were going to Tanglewood and wanted to find an inn nearby to avoid a long drive back to Vermont after the show. The Chambery Inn did not disappoint. It was charming: big rooms with high ceilings, comfortable bedding, breakfast served in a basket at your door, and a short drive from Tanglewood. My fiance surprised me with a romantic birthday overnight at this marvelous inn! We settled into Le Lycee and loved every moment there. A king sized, VERY comfortable bed, gas fireplace to relax by before going to bed, and then again in the morning. The chalkboards were an added bonus for two artists (we have similar huge slate chalkboards that were saved from a college academic building - weren't sure what we'd do with them, but with an addition going on our house, now we know...!) We slept fabulously, and woke to a knock on the door when our breakfast was left - in a lovely basket with everything needed to settle back in by the fire and enjoy hot coffee, fresh boiled eggs, fresh croissants, warm quiche straight from the oven, freshly cut fruit, and the Sunday paper! Thick, cushy bathrobes and warmed towels made getting out of the shower easier than usual. The staff member we met, Tanya, was absolutely delightful and terrifically helpful. A a great package, all the way around. It was so very difficult to leave, but we know we'll be back!! read more

What a cute place! It's a converted schoolhouse made into a B&B -- though the bones of this place are quite old, it was made into an inn less than 20 years ago, so all the fixtures and amenities are quite new. The decor is very French country-kitchen-esque -- so floral prints, lace, you name it. I came here with my mother and we were just squeeing at how cute everything was the whole time. The room we were given was La Sedgwick (named after the family that rescued this schoolhouse from demise and converted it into an inn) and it had 2 four-post beds and even chalkboards on the walls (from when this room was clearly a main classroom). The bathroom was airy and open and the tub even had a whirlpool built in. Breakfast is delivered to your room in a cute picnic basket, and you can dine right in a nook of your own room. We really enjoyed our stay here and appreciated that this place was not exorbitantly priced (unlike a lot of other inns in the area, especially around peak summer season) and that it was within easy strolling distance of Lee and a quick drive to any of the other towns, like Stockbridge. We'll definitely be coming back here for any other stays in the Berkshires. read more

Best bed and breakfast my wife and I have ever stayed at. Spacious rooms with fireplace, comfortable bed, ample closet and drawer space. You order your breakfast from their many choices (quiche, hard boiled eggs, cereal, granola, yogurt, scones, croissants, bagels, juices, coffee, etc.), leave the card on the door specifying time of delivery, and voila, your breakfast arrives in a quaint wooden basket. Outstanding service--very accommodating. We arrived after midnight, and the staff left the back door and the door to our room open for us. Check in and check out was a breeze--indeed, we never had to go to the front desk, except to get the delicious chocolate chip cookies. We will definitely stay there when we return to the South Berkshires. Great place to stay for those going to Tanglewood. read more

This is a cozy B&B with a fascinating history and delightful design. It used to be a parochial school run by French nuns. (Indeed, the chalkboards are part of the decor.) It was scheduled for demolition, but a thoughtful soul saved it, relocating the building. It's fun just looking around: articles on the walls, as well as original furniture, tell the history. Make certain to leaf through the record book that goes back to the late twenties. The ceilings are high and beautiful, and the windows are large, perfect for watching falling snow. Our sizable room had a gas fireplace, as well as a jet bathtub. Breakfast is simple, but wonderfully presented in a large basket; one chooses items on a checklist the day before: hard boiled egg, scone, fruit cup, oatmeal, etc. We appreciated the high quality teas, Keurig machine/cups, and DVD selections. The establishment, moreover, is in proximity to small stores, as well as a gas station. One important note: this isn't the place for loud conversation-- noise carries easily and readily. One should be light in one's step as well, so as not to disturb others. Finally, the prize of this B&B is its friendly people. They truly wish to create a warm, joyful experience. read more

I can't say enough good about this inn. Everything about it is delightful from the minute you walk in and are greeted by a pleasant woman at the front desk. The freshly baked chocolate chip cookies also make a great first impression! We have stayed here quite a few times and always look forward to the breakfast which is brought to your room. We enjoyed the Chambery Inn....our host, Nick, was very accommodating and helpful plus he was just a very pleasant young man. We were welcomed with the scent of home baked cookies ....we did not partake due to the calories we consumed over the holidays but they smelled amazing. Our room was HUGE and very nice. I was afraid being on the main level that we would hear a lot of noise but it was quiet. We loved the little sitting area and enjoyed cocktails and dessert with family members. The breakfast was OK! Great inn, excellent location and good value. We stayed there over Columbus weekend. As others have mentioned, the building is unique: a former parochial school. What this means is that most of the rooms are HUGE--think high ceilings, and the square footage of a classroom. They are also extraordinarily quiet. White the decor could use an update, the rooms are very clean and well-appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Staff is super friendly. Morning breakfast--delivered to your door in a basket--was great and a real plus. We really appreciated being in easy walking distance of downtown Lee, including Chez Nous, practically across the street. A real find! read more

The hotel is beautiful and easy to find; close walking distance to lots of restaurants. I absolutely loved our third-floor room (Le Lycee) - very spacious, high ceilings, fireplace. The whirlpool jets aren't very strong and are super loud, but the tub itself is comfortable and the shower has great water pressure. Toiletries are great, but their hair dryer isn't great so bring your own. Housekeeping could be a little more thorough; we found food on the floor and in a drawer. A delicious continental breakfast is served directly to your room in the morning in a cute basket. We both loved this inn and would definitely stay here again. read more

I don't know where to begin with how fantastic my stay was here the inn. I stayed for five nights six days and it was one of the most relaxing vacations I've ever had. Everyone who works at the Inn is extremely accommodating and friendly. I ended up being upgraded for free to one of their premier suites. I greatly enjoyed the king size canopy bed, the 40 inch flatscreen TV, world pool tub, fireplace which I had going all day and night, and the free movie library they had on the main floor. There was so much history and charm to this and it was like no other bed-and-breakfast that I've ever stayed in. It's also important to mention that every morning I got free breakfast of my choice delivered to my door in the cutest basket ever. I was able to have two separate 90 minute in suite massages. One was a sugar scrub and wrap and the other was a standard Swedish massage. Both were fantastic and the staff are very professional. I also made an appointment at Soul Spa that was directly across the street for a 90 minute hot stone massage which I've never had before. I will say it's a tad bit pricier at this particular place but it was the best massage I've ever had. I would highly recommend both the spa and a hot stone massage in general. On the morning that I was to check out I was very sad to have to leave this gorgeous facility. It was just so quiet and relaxing I will definitely be coming back in the future. It also didn't hurt that on my way home I stopped at the outlets which are five minutes down the road from the inn. I did some major damage at coach and Ann Taylor. I wanted to write probably the most thorough review I will ever right on yelp because it is such a little hole in the wall that deserves so much attention. Who would think of having a converted classroom in a French-style schoolhouse as a bedroom suite, complete with chalkboards (and chalk)? I love this inn. We have gone 2 years in a row and got the same room. It's cool how the building is a former school house. Our room, on the first floor is huge; decorated with quaint furniture and a wall length chalk board that you can write on.
