cozy!

Fantastic, cozy, CLEAN, safe spot to hunker down in for a weekend. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite, with its jacuzzi tub and electric fireplace for 3 nights with our small dog. The Inn is the perfect place to take a load off - complete with coffee/tea, breakfast/snacks, doggie welcome basket and tons of hominess! The owners are super helpful and available - we wanted a contactless stay and they provided clean plates, garbage removal, food replenishment and other necessities without entering the space. All I can say is come here and you won't regret it. LOVE IT!

This is one of the best b&b's we've been able to visit. We found it on bringfido.com since we wanted to bring our 60lb pup. We got upgraded to the honeymoon suite. Had a fireplace, jacuzzi in bathroom a nice deck in the back and sitting area in front, a little kitchenette. The owners pay a lot of attention to little details. There are things for the pup, food and snacks, wine.

Late at night, pulling off the highway with my mother we were looking for anywhere to rest our heads. We happen to see a sign for a cute little Inn. Once there we saw the absolutely adorable garden in the front, even at night was such an adorable sight. The manager was an absolute ANGEL, helpful and kind. Once in our rooms we were BLOWN away! So much space! So much homely feelings! Everything was thought of! Tv was set to a beautiful warming jazz, the fireplace was on, the setting of the whole place felt like home, and My house doesn't look like this at all!! To top it all off, they had breakfast in the rooms ready for us in the morning. If that's not the absolute cutest shit. Home made quiche, bagels, muffins, locally brewed coffee. I'm truly grateful my mother and I pulled in. I'll Never forget this adorable, welcoming, and rejuvenating inn. Thank you, Shaker Mill.

We had a great stay here. The owners are very accommodating and helpful. The room was very clean and updated. A nice bottle of wine was waiting for us when we arrived. John supports veterans. We will be visiting again.

We just got back home from a 3 night stay! Shaker mill inn was in the perfect location to explore the Berkshires. Extremely dog friendly room. Added bonus that breakfast was included. We will definitely be returning!

This gem of a place made our getaway such an awesome time...we spent most of our time "hanging around" right here !!! John and Pattie could not be nicer...attention to detail and a warm feeling...these people love what they do !! Such a relaxed and friendly vibe...will be back !!!!

Awesome stay here! Owners and staff are so friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. They have a lovely deck and yard to make it even more relaxing. They also allow pets in certain rooms and provide a basket with food bowls, towels, blankets and treats for your dog during the stay. I'll be heading back there soon!!

A complimentary bottle of wine!

Located in the furthest reaches of the Berkshires where all the good stuff is. This inn brings comfort and luxury back into your day after hiking in the beautiful countryside. Bill and Mary operate a very clean, cozy, comfortable & unique roadside inn. A must stop if you're anywhere in the area. They close for the winter.

Best angle of the room I have. So much to look at!

Our room was small but accurately described on the website. It was tastefully set up and it had a view of the lake which was beautiful. The breakfasts were very nice with several choices and nice table service. Also, the location is excellent. Besides being on the lake it is within minutes of many Berkshire attractions.

Everyone here was so nice, and the hospitality made it feel like a home away from home. We were greeted with care with a welcome hot cider drink with rum to relax before checking in. Once we were all done, we went up to our room that had the balcony overlooking the lake. The room was nice and clean. The view from the room was pure bliss. Got a great view of the Harvest Moon as we were there that night. We never would have seen that back home. What's also nice is that breakfast was included. Every morning, there were different choices for breakfast along with pastries if we wanted. They even had pastries during the day if you wanted an extra treat. Every moment we interacted with anyone, we were greeted with kindness. And a shout out to Lori, who saved us with a recommendation to eat at Alta in Lenox for dinner. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and the views and would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting the area. Lots to do and it's right near a bunch of great towns.

The crowd was chatty at first but eventually realized what a show they were missing and all eyes were on Glori and her band. Cocktails are very creative and delicious but quite pricey. The food was tasty- the menu is limited - maybe only 6-7 options. We laughed at the Mini Chicken Schnitzels as a name that you would only find in the Berkshires to describe chicken nuggets. Im sure they were delcious but we went for a cheeseburger and the salmon carpaccio. My husband said that the burger was the best he has had for a long time. Just perfection! The salmon was great too- very finely sliced raw fish with a delicious sauce. I also got a salad which could have been half the size but it was really yummy with parmesan crisps.

The rooms are somewhat charming - a bit dated with older fixtures - but cute. If you are going to Kripalu and don't want to stay on campus, it's a nice alternative. The cons: We have been staying at inns and B&B's for many decades. When a place advertises "breakfast included" it typically means choices for a full breakfast. This really needs to read "continental breakfast included." The homemade muffins were very good, granola and greek yogurt also good (though would have preferred a choice of yogurts as I prefer vegan), some fresh fruit, slices of bread and a bowl of hard boiled eggs was all nice but not what I would call "breakfast included." Also, we noticed immediately that the room we had did not fit the description given to us of our room when we booked. We were told it had a mountain view which it did not. Upon asking about this, the gentleman at the desk kindly acknowledged that in his email communication he had inadvertently mixed up the room descriptions. This was not an issue and the room we had was fine but it would have been nice to have received some token of recognition for this miscommunication.

I also like the fact that they have chickens laying the fresh eggs we ate each morning. That was a real treat. The surrounding area is beautiful and there are lots of resources at the Inn to guide you with things to do. I truly loved our stay, and will definitely stay again. The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge.

Very friendly at check-in and answered all my questions during my stay, always with a smile on her face. My room was beautiful. I chose room 25 (Vivian) on the 2nd floor of the main house. While it's a small room, it was cozy and quite lovely. I spent some quiet time writing at the desk, and later enjoyed the fireplace with a Duraflame log provided by the inn. They also provide a free bottle of wine, which was waiting for me in my room. The next morning, hot breakfast was waiting in the dining area downstairs. There were several options, which I appreciate having a choice. The pumpkin French toast casserole, seasoned potatoes, and bacon were superb. A great way to start the day! The bar now uses a Bartesian machine, which makes good cocktails, though I can see it becoming cumbersome if multiple guests arrive at once. Breakfast is always wonderful with a variety of entrées and sides. My only wish? That they bring back the specialty coffee machine--I miss those cappuccinos! Fortunately, their excellent selection of Harney & Sons teas helps make up for it. Already looking forward to our next visit!
