The Cornell Inn is simply and easily the cleanest place I've ever stayed in the world (and I've stayed in 5 star hotels like Intercontinental Istanbul, Intercontinental Los Angeles, Ritz Carlton Central Park South, and Trump International NYC). The suite was large and elegant and comfortable and everything in it was absolutely spotless. The staff were kind and helpful, eager to swap out the complimentary bottle of cabernet (?) for my wife's preferred chardonnay, and provide us with several brownies. Breakfasts were very good. I really don't have a single complaint, can't wait to stay here again in the future!

Lenox, Massachusetts, of course is absolutely beautiful so we spent our first day watching the Boston symphony orchestra and Yo-Yo Ma at Tanglewood. We arrived at our bed and breakfast after and were greeted in a friendly manner by Stan, the innkeeper. We were given lots of information in a personalized note and guest book. I can't imagine operating a bed and breakfast during a pandemic but Stan's expertise made for a safe and relaxed experience. A breakfast buffet was included. It was delicious. We sat in the dining room but might try the porch tomorrow morning. The pool is amazing and warm. We took a walk to town this morning where I did a little shopping. Tonight we will go out to dinner and tomorrow we will enjoy another breakfast and leave for a different adventure.

The views from the room were of a school playground and a parking lot (see photos). The pool was adjacent to the cottage but since it was raining I didn't partake. Breakfast was okay, and I appreciated the fresh fruit. All the smaller tables were taken when I got there at 8:30 (late start time, and no coffee in the lobby), and sat at the large table. People were focused on getting food not socializing. Innkeeper was polite. The only hot entree was salmon quiche, and I passed since I don't care for fish in eggs. Nice that they provide "cordials" in the small bar area next to the main sitting room, but no wine. Location in town of Lenox was best part about my stay. I walked to a dinner restaurant and to LENOX COFFEE for a great cappuccino in the morning, since there was only Keurig cups before 8:30 at the inn. At the $356 mid week rate - no Tanglewood that night- it was lower priced than nearby inns.

The owner organized exhibits, lectures and special events in collaboration with the IS183 Berkshire arts school. Artworks and galleries are beautiful. The land is gorgeous: dreamy green landscape with small lakes, ducks, and flowers are surrounded by lovely wood buildings. Check it out! It's super closed to Tanglewood.

The rooms are all different and have their own quaint feel about them. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and on late nights, the innkeeper set our group up with wine so we could wind down. The grounds are also pretty, and it was nice to enjoy some time outside. The inn does not have an elevator (obviously, it's a restored old home!), but as long as you do not have mobility issues, this is a fantastic place to stay during your visit to the Berkshires (the location can't be beat if you're going to Tanglewood and the like!).

Also, most rooms are on the 2nd floor, and I don't believe I saw an elevator. Breakfast is included with the room. It's pretty straightforward for options. Again, the wait staff was great (and after breakfast they are the ones that clean the rooms). There is a beautiful lounge/bar area. A great place to grab a glass of wine before heading out to diner. It closes very early as there is a guest room right behind it, which is too bad as it would be a great place to come back to for an espresso martini after dinner. There is also a restaurant on sight that seemed pretty busy for diner, but we did not have a meal there. Me and my significant other went out to grab coffee one morning and came back to the inn to relax and read our books. There is no place to sit in the entire inn to sit and relax. It an old mansion I would have expected an area to sit and enjoy your coffee. We ended up sitting at a table that is used for dinner. Just not what I expected. Overall, great and friendly staff that was top notch. The inn and rooms were OK at best. I'd stay there again, understanding that it just isn't up to what one would expect at a B&B in Lenox.

On the south side, you wake up to a sun-drenched, turn-of-the century luxury that you didn't know existed. Fireplaces in every room, and in every public room invites you down to a 15-foot dining table decorated (at least last week) in beautiful and lovely Christmas motif with real china. Frank Newton, proprietor, makes every guest feel as if he is lord of the manor. Melissa keeps the 1800s mansion in sparkling condition. We stayed in the Eleanor Roosevelt room with a canopy bed and pull out couch, as well as a desk for writing those letters back home. (Free wireless internet included for that back to century feel.) If you are heading to the Berkshires or Tanglewood, your stopover should be the Summer White House.

We were even able to walk to and from Tanglewood, avoiding the traffic in and out of the parking lot. Our room was nicely appointed with a nice little patio. There were so many interesting books, paintings and pictures on the walls. In the morning, we had a nice simple breakfast that was included in the price -- baked egg dish, boiled eggs, pastries, cereal, milk, coffee. Would definitely come back and stay in the future when we come back to the Berkshires. Of note, their website didn't allow up to pick a date in 2017 to reserve a room so we had to call in to make the reservations. Probably easier to just call ahead rather than deal with the website. Anyways, had a wonderful time and looking forward to going back soon!

The breakfast was good but the afternoon cookies even better. Snacks and drinks were always available. Best yet was the location-minutes from Stockbridge, Lenox, and Great Barrington. The staff was wonderful-even found our iPad and ships it back to us. Certainly a great stay if you're going to be in the Berkshires!

Our first B&B in decades and it was an excellent option to staying in one of the many local motels…read more  The home is wonderfully decorated, full of country antiques.  The King Bed Suite is right off the kitchen and the sleeping was extremely comfortable.  We had the home to ourselves, so it was perfectly quiet.  Bathroom modern and excellent hot shower.  We had a minor issue with powering up a CPAP machine, and the owner promptly showed up and it ended up being our fault using the wrong connecting wiring (computer wire instead of CPAP wire).  She was readily available and brought over goodies for breakfast daily, including home made delicious muffins, fresh fruit salad etc.  Usually she prepares hot breakfasts when home has more guests.  We were her first guest of the season!  I was singing at Tanglewood, and this inn is right next door.  Also very accessible to Lenox by car and by walking.  Would definitely return to Eastgate B&B.  Highly recommend!
