In need of a paint job
    Lloyd M.

OK... I stayed here for a week because my timeshare had an exchange with this place... The service was great and check-in was easy... However, when I walked into the room, it felt like a time warp from 1979... You will see pictures and perhaps a video of the place... The grounds outside are lovely. if they spent 5% of their budget that they used to maintain the grounds on painting the inside of the rooms, they would have a 5 Star place.... As you'll see from the pictures there are four different paint jobs with big splotches. So if you need a place to stay in the Berkshires, it is functional and clean but the ambience needs to be improved.

The Ponds at Foxhollow is a hidden gem with some nostalgic charm. I spent the start of many summer breaks here as a child. I have started to come with my own children now, and here are my observations: Though there may be some "dated" decor, I don't concern myself with that generally anyhow. As with many places, it can be a struggle to balance updates with overhead costs. The accommodations and facilities I have experienced have always been clean. In fact, throughout my childhood, I always remembered the clean smell of the place on arrival. My recent experiences have been no different. That said, the cost of a stay and the amenities offered more than make up for any potential disappointments. My last stay was relaxing and magical. My children were so amazed at the number of fireflies on the grounds. I did my best to keep them quiet as they chased them, but I was happy to be able to give them this part of my childhood.

This was our second time staying at the resort and will probably be our last, simply because the unit did not seem clean. i.e. the top blanket in one of the rooms had a stain and the carpeting had clearly not been vacuumed since the previous guest. One of the showers only had cold water. The appliances and (chipped) furniture are outdated, but that was okay because it's cheaper than other hotels in the Berkshires. The location is EXCELLENT-in Lenox (15 minutes from Tanglewood) and next to Lee, Stockbridge and Pittsfield. The grounds are also BEAUTIFUL. If you do stay, bring your own sheets, blanket, pillowcases, and towels. (the hotel towels were so thin and scratchy I couldn't use them.)

The units are a little outdated and quite hours are old fashioned... 9pm to 9 am is a little excessive. Overall the grounds are pretty, the facilities are clean and the amenities offered are great! Pool, hot tub and sauna all taken care of well, the pool has a tad too much chlorine. The staff is super friendly so that is a bonus! My favorite part is that it's in Lee and located near everything! I cannot wait to come back!

Trying to preserve a bit of privacy

Jeremy, who refused to give his last name and also refused to help us, caused us to spend our evening jury rigging a blanket in our bedroom in order to preserve a modicum of privacy as the blinds were inoperative. He told us that maintenance could help us in the morning but when I asked what he could do help us this evening, he became a parrot and just kept repeating maintenance could help in the morning. His title is hospitality specialist, a misnomer if ever there was .

This was my first time staying at this particular resort. While the interior of the units were quite outdated, the grounds more than made up for it. Driving down the winding road to get to our unit, surrounded by trees felt almost surreal. The view from our balcony was something out of a postcard. The grounds truly were breathtakingly beautiful. We did not take much advantage of the amenities offered. I did go to the gym once, but the size of it made me feel very claustrophobic, so I did not go back. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Overall a great resort.

A relaxing environment in a beautiful setting. However, if you are looking for a Ritz-Carlton experience, this is not for you.

Very friendly at check-in and answered all my questions during my stay, always with a smile on her face. My room was beautiful. I chose room 25 (Vivian) on the 2nd floor of the main house. While it's a small room, it was cozy and quite lovely. I spent some quiet time writing at the desk, and later enjoyed the fireplace with a Duraflame log provided by the inn. They also provide a free bottle of wine, which was waiting for me in my room. The next morning, hot breakfast was waiting in the dining area downstairs. There were several options, which I appreciate having a choice. The pumpkin French toast casserole, seasoned potatoes, and bacon were superb. A great way to start the day! I loved my stay so much that I'm returning in January for another night!

From the warm welcome upon arrival--complete with a welcome drink, pastries, and brownies--to the impeccable service, every detail feels well thought out. We were a bit apprehensive when we heard about the new ownership, but thankfully, much of the charm remains intact. The bar now uses a Bartesian machine, which makes good cocktails, though I can see it becoming cumbersome if multiple guests arrive at once. Breakfast is always wonderful with a variety of entrées and sides. My only wish? That they bring back the specialty coffee machine--I miss those cappuccinos! Fortunately, their excellent selection of Harney & Sons teas helps make up for it. Already looking forward to our next visit!

This one is a mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible or great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though. However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited. Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this older Hampton.

As a Hilton Gold member, I wanted to stay within the family and this was about the only option with another Hilton property nearby under significant offseason reservations. Using the Hilton App, I avoided the front desk experience with my room ready when requested for 3PM check in. However, when told the room number via the app notification prior to arrival, it changed at check in which could have been embarrassing if not noticed at the time of using the keyless entry via the app. The room was clean, but the view of the AC units on the roof of the first floor was hardly the view of the Berkshire woods I would have preferred. Lesson learned, next time I will choose my own room via the app. Sheets were clean, but the top sheet seemed ill fitting and came off two corners during the night exposing the mattress which nobody wants to experience. Towels were surprisingly soft showing that they were relatively new and clean. Unfortunately, I needed to leave early in the morning before the complimentary breakfast was ready for service, but trust it would be of the expected quality. I was able to grab a hot beverage for the road.

The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge.

Friendly, professional, smart and charismatic, we are taking about a top talent in a tough industry. The Inm is beautiful, well appointed and located in a prime location. Park your car and walk everywhere, including Tanglewood if you are so inclined (30 minutes each way). The standard rooms are TINY, but the grounds, lobby, fire pit and front porch give you no reason to be in iyour room other than sleep or shower. Speaking of which, you will laugh out loud when you see how small the bathrooms are in the regular rooms. The bathroom photos on their website are not the bathroom you will get in a standard king. You will get a phone booth with water. CONS Breakfast is a moon launch, get this poor girl some help. Put out a self serve pot of coffee with to go cups for early risers and leave it out all morning. She will love this idea, trust me. Eggs and toast were ice cold when they finally arrived, so we skipped breakfast the next morning as she was buried yet again. The bar was completely overwhelmed both nights with a large wedding and made it near impossible for anyone else to get a drink. We are talking 20 minutes due to the complexity of their cocktail program. Like everyone else, he was very hospitable, but cannot handle the bar stools, plus all of the dining room and outside cocktails on his own. Get him some help. The Inn would also benefit from an ice water station, especially on these scorching hot days. Your bartender and servers will also thank you. Lastly and the real reason for dropping a star is that we were checked into a dirty room at 3:30pm. At 600.00 per night, this is a fatal flaw and should have never happened. Never.

When our reservation time came around we were taken to the dining room. Butternut squash soup and popovers to start. Following that was a family style serving of turkey (white and dark meat), mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and gravy. Everything was delicious. We were offered seconds but neither my wife or I had room for any more. Dessert was a help yourself selection of pies - pumpkin, blueberry, apple, and pecan. I tried the pecan and blueberry. Both were delicious. Highly recommend eating here.

They came up with a table, offered us options for chairs, had all of the food wrapped in plastic and covered in warming lids, but done in a way that did not interfere with even the delicate plating details. The portions were substantial and food quality was outstanding. They even provided gluten-free options that went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy. First night they would not allow us in the dining room with dogs but they had no room for us to dine outside! They wanted us to sit alone in a room by ourselves & have dinner ! I objected. We finally agreed we would have dinner in the bar alone . At least it was part of the dining area. To get to the pool area you need to drive your car. They didn't like where my husband parked our car. No biggie. I think the Pool Boy could have handled it. All he had to do is ask us to move it. Next thing we know the manger of the Hotel comes to the pool standing over us suit & all. After announcing his titled he ordered my husband to move the car. It was definitely a reprimand for his bad behavior. Of course he moved the car. When we returned to our room there was a hand written note offering to serve us dinner in our room that evening.
