Mattress and pillows were worst than a motel eight seriously pillows lumpy I didn't sleep. The whole night woke up with a bad back. Could only go in the pool couldn't do any of the exercises. I complained to the woman that was at the spa booking appointment at 8 o'clock in the morning is now two 2 o'clock she told me she would definitely get on it and she apologized that. Maybe they could change the room no one ever called me back. I called the front desk today and I got lip service from the guy working at the front desk no help he's telling me he's helping me but he's telling me to take time out of my day cause I'm going into the pool again to try to work out my Backand he said that I would have to speak to the manager in person he couldn't put me through. I said where is the manager well, she's not here. I said oh but she's going to appear when I come there. read more

Going to Canyon Ranch is an extreme luxury for me. I had to save all year to be able to afford it. When things like spending two hours sitting in the dining room waiting on dinner to be served to my growling stomach,(and drinks too) missing other events that started at 8pm; I question the whole experience. The treatments were fabulous- always. However, I am still wondering why the face isn't part of the body for the whole body scrub. My face is part of my body! And I really just want a face massage without getting a facial sometimes- for TMJ. Is that feasible? Overall- it was an okay experience. It wasn't as fabulous as Tucson. read more

Outdated ! Totally not a Michelin star experience . Miraval was by far better bigger and cleaner . Maybe this spa was the place to be decades ago , it certainly isn't anymore. For 450$ you get a day package 8-5 with 250$ credit for txt. The classes were just ok and overcrowded. The spa treatment was just ok , nothing spectacular. And the facilities were just old . The so called relaxation area was old , noisy and tiny , everyone was yelling , talking on the phone and one point there was no place to sit to wait for your txt. The outdoor pool was small and the indoor pool was getting renovated The staff were everywhere not sure what they were doing though. Lockers were very small . Not enough room to put winter clothes in. The food they advertise all day free is ok . The table lunch was pretty good , salad bar and menu , but nothing great. Canyon Ranch was the biggest disappointment. The truth is the facility is as well appointed as a Holiday Inn . They market with a lovely New England structure which in reality is only an 1/8th of the property and houses a sitting area . The rest of the facility is a vinyl sided maze with worn carpet that leads around to other uninspiring sitting areas and the two restaurants one is self serve only and the "Dining Room" which is like a glorified diner. There is nothing here that is "premiere". For some reason there is a Michelin plaque on the wall with no stars , very misleading as the food is sub-par. The entire facility is lack luster and in need of repair. Who ever designed it must have been been on a low budget.The treatments were at best ordinary . My husband booked this as surprise for our 25th anniversary and asked for a room with a view. The room was in the front over the driveway ,the view was over a generator that was quite noisy. After complaining we were moved to slightly larger room with stained upholstery and furnishings that were scratched and not maintained . Bathrooms in both rooms had bathtubs that belonged in a motel. We attended a wellness class underwhelming. We were there three nights the cost was $6600.00 +. Booking the treatments and the classes was a nightmare 45 minutes with one women who said she had to go to a meeting and wanted to leave me hanging in the middle of booking which was difficult she hung up.I called back to get a women who seemed to know the system better and turned out the first women had not booked anything so had to start over. We were 10 minutes late when we arrived and they promptly canceled and assured no problem rebooking in 3 days were not able to accomodate. This place is a sham ,sucking you in with the name and great photos that are completely misleading. Had to pick a star to post this which btw I have never done, but reality 0 stars read more

Guest Services check you in and are the first people you meet. The young man I interacted with couldn't even manage a welcoming smile. He was not warm or kind in the least. Really put me off my stay from the get go. I'm spending thousands of dollars for 3 nights at this 5 star resort and it felt like I was a chore for him to complete. In addition, the suite was gray, dark and uninspiring. Food was good and I had some nice practitioners but overall Just not a great experience. read more

This place is trying to cosplay as a 5-star resort with very much 2 to 3-star amenities, which makes the inadequacies all the more glaring. The facilities are sort of outdated, and even visibly dirty. The rooms aren't nearly as nice as what you'd hope for the price. The food was mediocre if not outright bad, but again served in a faux-fancy restaurant atmosphere which almost makes the whole experience comical. Every food item I received was laughably "blah" - I e even texted a friend a picture of one meal as a joke, which is never a good sign. Most of it tasted fine but some of it tasted awful. The cherry on top for me was that most of the daily activities come with an extra cost, so I could not figure out what I was paying $2,000 (!!!) a night for. Very odd place and would never recommend. I'm giving 1 star for a nice massage I got, but you can really get those anywhere. -stains on room curtains - dirt stains on all the carpets - grounds weren't that nice / well-designed - bizarre combo of trying to come off as super fancy with very subpar quality read more

Pre covid review: Awesome Wellness Retreat. If you are looking for a getaway that will give you the opportunity to regroup and leave all distractions behind, this is the place. Canyon Ranch was a magical oasis that brought so much peace and joy to my life! From the relaxing massages and yoga classes to the strenuous hikes and bike rides, I wouldn't change a thing. I also met some lovely people during my stay. My one and only complaint is that the customer service team was not very responsive. I have been to Canyon Ranch many times, but this past visit (my first in over a decade) was really uninspiring. The facilities are old and dated. Our room was very dark, the bathroom had just a small standard tub (no separate shower), the lecture rooms are depressing, and the gym looks like it hasn't been updated in decades. Nothing felt luxurious .... and for the prices, they should feel that way. They still have a great selection of exercise classes, but the instructors were "uninviting" and gruff. In a room full of ladies, one instructor (a male) made several comments like "don't we want nice butts". Young-ish, female instructors would be a much better fit. Other than the person who checked me in & the guy who brought my car, the staff working at the "desks" were rude and unaccomodating. Most just seemed miserable For example, My hair tie broke and I asked several people for them, but no one could be bothered to even get off their chairs. The woman in the area with the cremes and facial products just waved me off and told me to try the salon (when I asked about samples later she seemed annoyed, said no, then ignored me). I went to the salon, and they said to try the spa area. The first person I asked there said they didn't have them. Finally I asked someone else in the locker room, and she got them. When I tried to change a spa appt, the people at the activity desk just said "no that's not possible" without even looking at the calendar. My friends had also tried, and got the same bad attitude. The person who checked me out of the hotel told me to come back to check out because it was going to take a "long time" to get my car. I asked where the bathroom was so I could change (my bags were being held for the day and I was in a robe) and he told me to go back to the spa with my luggage because there were too many people coming in and out and it wasn't appropriate for me to change in the one by the front desk! ignored him and changed in there anyway. No one came in, and even if they had, I was in a stall (so not bothering anyone). I have recently been to Miraval, and it's a much warmer, modern, inviting environment - everything from the facilities to the people working there. Catherine's low impact aerobics is fabulous Chrissy can help you with any foot issue. The DEXA Body composition results may not be what you want to hear :/ Do TRX. Don't miss a pool class. Really. The place continues to be spotless clean and exhibit a level of professionalism unmatched. I highly recommend it! They need to bring back the popcorn at Bingo. Canyon Ranch has the best spa program in the country! No place else will you find so many facilities for every sport you can imagine. I would rate the athletic facilities 6 stars out of 5 especially given the indoor tennis & pickle-ball courts, spin studio, as well as on premise snowshoeing and cross country skiing if weather allows. Although the pool needs a paint job and the common areas need new carpet and cushions, the sheer amount of choice here allows for a no boredom stay. Instructors are friendly and classes are fun, if a bit dated (no hot yoga but step class is still offered as example). Treatments rate 5 stars; therapists are experienced and most having worked here over 20 years! The brand new ladies locker room is gorgeous. My main complaint here is that many classes are offered during the same morning time then treatment time spots are not available in the late afternoon 4-5pm as I would prefer, with many days being forced to take treatments 2 or 3pm, leaving too much unused time thereafter. I felt robbed of half the day I was paying for. The hotel manager blamed this on Covid and snow scheduling issues, and did agree to give me a couple of day passes as our in-laws live nearby, but then did not reply to my emails requesting them as she advised me to do (yes yes but then ignore, only lead to anger). After reading many reviews before my visit, I was pleasantly surprised how nice the room was. Sure the bathroom is outdated, and furniture could use a refinish, but I only slept here and never actually bathed in my room, always used the spa facilities after treatment. The rest of the room had been updated with new carpet, upholstery etc. Dining was the main disappointment. Before our visit we were told the earliest dinner spots for all of our nights was 7:15pm which seamed ok at the time. Although you are no longer forced to count calories, and they do offer splenda and salt if you ask, I found the menu too restrictive for me. The menu is outdated and feels like you are at a "fat farm" despite the fact that half the people here do not need to lose weight. In the age of all inclusiveness I find it odd that Canyon Ranch is still very much focused on dropping weight rather then body acceptance and healthy eating at any size. I was literally starving the entire week, and told to order double protein or two entrees! I did do that but still found the food mostly tasteless and inedible. Moreover, with my treatment times earlier then I wanted (some moved earlier due to weather); some days I waited from 4pm starved until 7:15pm and they refused to seat us earlier (they agreed one day to a 6:30 seating, only after my hangry melt down, sorry but you caused this). There is NO ROOM SERVICE, despite most websites refusal to rate the hotel 5 stars because of lack thereof. Why serve dessert at lunch and dinner, but then no healthy but caloric sauces or ingredients like avocado anywhere on menu? This is not healthy and sustainable way to eat! Lunch was the same exact 5 choices and same exact salad bar every day; everyone was angry and talking about this during our 5 day stay. Inexplicably, in season healthy vegetables like asparagus, Brussel sprouts and artichokes were nowhere on the menu. Correction; one day there was artichoke entree that tasted like cardboard and was literally 3 bites. The same pasta with peas was served at the salad bar everyday. Yawn. No Asian or Italian influence anywhere on menu. So glad I did not take my husband or daughter here, as we would have to leave the premises for meals; I would have done this but we were snowed in. I literally drooled over someone else eating a bowl of glass noodle soup next to me but was told that was "only for people with Celiac Disease!" Well I have Psoriatic Arthritis and my meds keep my weight too low, so why are my needs less important? We did still enjoy our stay here, and the staff was able to deal with a full day without power, swapping treatments they could still do from ones that they could not do, and a generator for the spa allowed for most classes to still take place. However by late in the day, with the power still off in our rooms, and snowed in, we still were all worried we might freeze that night, with no contingency plans told; luckily by 6pm power returned. Staff members told us this happens often enough to make us wonder why no generator for the guest rooms? Despite $950 per day Canyon Ranch is actually not overpriced if one considers the price includes $200 a day treatment credit, if you subtract $150 for 3 meals a day; another $100 for all the exercise classes you might ordinarily pay $25-40 each for. This puts the room rate at $500 a night which now seems more normal. Inexplicably, the rate of $950 was same whether you choose your own room, or to share it. Huh that makes no sense and actually is environmentally unfriendly! At say $850 each per night, it would be a win win, less costly for the hotel, guests and the environment! read more

Been several times over the past 5 or so years - all amazing experiences! My most recent trip - March 2023 - was a very different experience. Resort experience has gone downhill. Primarily the food. It wasn't just not five-star food - it was all-around bad. I love healthy food, that wasn't the issue - they need a new chef. Also had some issues in our rooms, parts of the resort were extremely cold, no one available at the valet or bag station at check-in - just not at all the experience expected at this price range. Spa treatments and class programming continued to be great, though! But bottom line: I will not return. Go to Miraval instead! update: took away another star because I've been trying to speak with someone at CR about the disappointing stay - I filled out a survey, reached out over Instagram, and emailed a manager directly - and no one seems inclined to follow up with me. read more

Menu was limited and many items on the menu were not even available. Climate control in the facilities was awful - it was freezing cold in all of the hallways and many other areas. I stayed at Canyon Ranch last year, and was blown away by the experience. This tranquil spot was the perfect getaway after a stressful stretch in my life. Yes, it was pricey, but worth every penny. From the moment I called to ask questions about a stay, I felt like I was making a great decision. Since I was driving in, I could arrive anytime and start participating in the day's activities, have lunch and explore before my room was ready. The variety of lectures, classes, activities, spa treatments, and physical fitness options was almost overwhelming. There's something for everyone. You can get a taste of a typical week by visiting the website. The food was lovely. If portions were too small, you could order more. Everything was included in the price. I traveled alone but quickly made friends with other single travelers at a community dinner table. The spa treatments exceeded anything I'd received in the outside world... I had a massage and a facial. I could have spent the day in the amazing ladies locker room, with a relaxing area and two jacuzzis, fruit, water, lounge chairs and magazines! The buildings and grounds are spectacular. I enjoyed a walking tour one morning, also getting to know some of my fellow vacationers. I would love to return soon. Highly recommend. read more

Canyon Ranch is still a very special place, but needs a wholesale refresh. This was my 2nd visit, the last time was 10 years ago. While the exercise classes and treatments were still great, the food was not. My room was not $500 quality (total cost is $1500, but with all the amenities, meals, daily credit, I'm saying room is $500) the carpet throughout the whole complex is in desperate need of replacement. I was told they are renovating, so we'll see. Staff was still very accommodating, however they all had that "I'm overworked and tired" glazed look. My wife got her hair done and Mary in the salon would not give her the time of day and rolled her eyes at her and proceeded to talk about my wife as I was standing right there. Same with Marilyn in the facial department. I was waiting for my wife and she basically told me to get the hell out because I didn't have a service during that time. I got lucky and won a company raffle for a 2-night stay at the beautiful Canyon Ranch in Lenox. It was an amazing experience and I would definitely love to go back if I can find a good promotion (regular pricing of over $2,000 per person for 2 nights is too steep). Canyon Ranch offers over 30 class/activities everyday ranging from hiking, yoga, strength and cardio training, stretching, art & craft, health lectures and many more. I took full advantage of the offering and kept myself busy and active for two full days. I do have say that I was impressed by the two restaurants at the Ranch - a formal dining room and a more casual Cafe. I found myself loving the Cafe, which offers unique farm-to-table dishes that are tasty yet reasonably healthy. Two of of my favorite dishes were the sweet potato waffle for breakfast and grilled steak with purple potato with soy drizzles for dinner (yummmm i want them now!!). The package included $310 towards services and I enjoyed a Total Radiance Facial ($155) and a Head, Neck, Shoulder massage. The facial is definitely the best I've ever experienced - the bed is comfortably heated and the essthetician was very experienced - I walked out with my skin super smooth and hydrated for the next 2 weeks! Overall I spent a very relaxing and healthy (not exactly sure if those are the right adj. as I probably ate too much cuz the food was so good and I was sore for an entire week from the intense workouts!).. weekend get away from Boston!! read more

I called to book services for a small group. The woman I spoke with was set on either selling an overnight stay or a day pass of $295/person; she would not directly answer any of my questions and became increasingly rude, continuously repeating the $295/person day pass or an overnight would fulfill our "needs." If you work in group accommodations in the hospitality industry you should be able to answer a few basic questions politely. Due to this, I do not feel comfortable booking any services here - I would be mortified to bring a group and experience such an inhospitable attitude. read more

My friends and I stayed at Canyon Ranch in mid February. Our stay was not what we expected...having been to CR's Arizona location and loving every minute of that stay. There were problems with electricity, water temperature, and pretty dilapidated locker room/women's spa. Overall, the experience lacked the luxury and care you would expect from CR. And then....my candid responses to a satisfaction survey resulted in an email from the assistant director asking me to please call her to discuss. I called, left a message. No response so a week later I replied to the email via email. A week later, still no response. ?? Unacceptable. read more

Three hour away from the city to unwind is worth it. A wonderful place with an array of amazing classes. This place will keep you active. I suggest you do the hike in Basin Pond, canoe/hike combo in the Appalachian trail is a great adventure, the 22 miles rail trail bike, the monument mountain hike and more. I love all the activities. What I am not impressed about is the service in the dining room. It's so slow. It takes awhile for them to bring you water alone. The cafe is much better in terms of service. Very friendly staff. I think they need to be a little more organized. The rooms aren't clean when you get back in the afternoon. I called a couple of times for them to send cleaners. The guests are very friendly, whether you're alone or in groups to visit you will never feel alone. For a high end place I am giving 4 star but Overall it was a very nice time but they can definitely improve more on services. read more

First, many of the people here have worked here a long time and are lovely and good at what they do. The food is healthy but often not very tasty. They are under staffed. The dining room has reduced capacity so they turn last minute diners away when many tables are empty. There is no valet. Other spa services are limited. Cell service is almost non existent and the wifi is weak at best. Good luck if you have any important calls. Mostly I am disappointed that on my last evening my long awaited massage was canceled 2 hours before. The person left - can't help you. I come to a spa (a very expensive spa) for a massage and that did not happen. Overall a vacation that did not live up to expectations or price. read more

Do NOT stay at Canyon Ranch Berkshires - run, don't walk, directly to neighboring Miraval Berkshires for a far superior spa experience - with better customer service, newer/hipper/better accommodations and classes! There is NOTHING to compare - Miraval is sublime; Canyon Ranch an aged dowager, well past her prime. We recently reserved a few nights stay at Canyon Ranch. We booked over the phone. We were NEVER informed by the front desk agent - NOR in any follow up email confirmation - that they required a COVID test at check in. The request for a COVID test is certainly reasonable BUT we were NEVER informed that it was needed. After driving 4 hours, we had to turn back. But the worst, most insulting part of this was the complete indifference of the staff. And as they say, "A fish stinks from its head." The Managing Director Mindi Morin treated as with complete disdain and was rude and insulting. What we saw of the facility is clearly worn, aging, and resting on its past glory - particularly when you compare it to the far superior Miraval. read more

I didn't have a particularly good experience there. The mattresses are very soft and I had a backache from the bed the entire time. I had an acupuncture treatment that didn't go well and I came away from it with bruising and swelling. I was also disappointed in the food. I eat healthy as a general rule, but I found the food on balance disappointing. I won't be returning. I came home from my vacation felling less rested and more stressed than when I arrived. Went here just for the day with a girlfriend for a walk-in massage. The facilities and the 50 min massage were average and definitely not worth $185 each. The relaxing area before the massage was small with few chairs in the lounge area. I'd expect snacks and a better atmosphere at a high end spa. It doesn't look as though it's been updated in a while. The massage rooms are small and didn't have heated blankets or any fragrance options. Masseuse didn't seem as experienced as price should illicit. After a truly horrible 16 months: Come here! It will make you feel better for quite a while. After my brief spa experience last week (see review below) I decided to finally heed my friend's constant (but sage) advice of: "Claude! Time to do something for your Self!" and so I came here for a three nights package deal! I have to admit to a little personal satisfaction here: You see; I grew up in the Berkshires...but the poor part of the Berkshires! In New Marlborough -just a couple of townships away from Lennox but it might as well have been on another planet- with its West Virginia like shanty town poverty and horrific gerrymandered High School where few went off successfully to college (we didn't even have a football team). So growing up, I never dreamed of coming to a place like the Canyon Ranch- which is the Gold standard of Spas in New England (against which all others are judged). To my Family It was just one of those places for "other people." But now, since money no longer matters to me, it was nice to "come home" and experience something people with my background rarely get to do (because yes, we are two Americas now.) As it says on their web site: "Canyon Ranch is an all-inclusive spa resort, where you never need to wait for a check or worry about tipping." (yeah...frugal new Englanders are crazy about tipping...kinda why I never fit in with them) Here is what you get for your $2,710. 1, Three healthy, all-you-can-eat gourmet meals daily. Which were all delectable! And even more enjoyable when you realize it is good for you (makes you feel less bad about taking seconds...and thirds!) 2. Daily offerings of wellness classes and cooking demonstrations (perfect if you are an amateur chef like me always looking to improve your skill set) 3. Use of their epic 100,000-square-foot Spa complex which includes: State-of-the-art cardio & weight rooms, Dance & yoga studios (fun for people watching) a Pilates/Gyrotonic studio (fun for masochists), an Indoor cycling studio, indoor racquetball, squash & basketball courts, Indoor tennis courts, an Indoor running track, 75-foot indoor pool, 50-foot outdoor pool, saunas, steam rooms & whirlpools (sweeeeeeet!) Spa treatment rooms and a salon! 4. Things I love: - Being picked up in a comfy van stocked with a light lunch, water and fruit. The ride through the mountains is serene and the driver points out places you might be interested in visiting. - Check in is a seated meeting with a friendly staff member who quickly checks you in, gives you a Canyon Ranch t-Shirt, gym bag and water bottle. - Arriving at a nicely decorated room that whispers, "Relaxation" There's a comfy chair and ottoman by the window, a huge comfortable bed with the most amazing pillows I've ever slept on, and a huge tub for soaking, although I did plenty of that in the spa. - Dining options: I love the French Bistro or Cafe maybe a little more the formal dining room. If you sit by the windows you can stare out over the Berkshires and pretend it's a countryside view of the South of France. - The dining room staff is very sweet. It does not feel like a stuffy 5 star restaurant although some of the dishes look and taste like 5 star quality. - The indoor pool with it's relaxing music, gorgeous views and hot tub - very relaxing! - The spa with it's steam rooms, sauna, hot tubs and more gorgeous views - extremely relaxing! You can just spend a few hours before and after a treatment in the spa and truly enjoy the experience. - Activities - Although I didn't try all of them, I was thrilled at the options! Hiking, rowing, paddle board yoga?!? Nature painting? I wish some were not nearly $200, however. - Walking into town - I only did it once but next time I might do this once a day - there are so many cool restaurants and shops. It may divert you from the "healthy" part of your Canyon Ranch experience, but a little deviance is sooo much fun! - The absolute best part of Canyon Ranch? Lunch and Learn and Dinner Demonstrations! I felt like I was on a professional cooking show each time and enjoying everything the chef made! It's a great opportunity to meet other people, gather some great recipes, and ask for expert advice in culinary creations! I went to every single one of these throughout my stay! What I do not love: - I feel like the price is a bit off for what you get. It's serene, healthy, and all-inclusive, but the price paid for a 3 night stay would've got my husband and I a 5 night stay in a balcony suite on a cruise to the Bahamas! If I ever return, it will be in their off season and even then, they would have to offer an additional discount in order for us to afford it. - After dinner can be a bit dull. There were movies or a live pianist, otherwise you can head out for the night - free transportation but tickets to events can be very pricey. - Meet with one of their personal planners - it will get you motivated to try something new. I made the mistake of waiting and missed out on some great activities. That being said, I will still consider coming here with my mom, sisters and best friend for a great girls get away. Ok if you are looking to chill, hike, heal, have healthy fun, challenge yourself, canoe, kayak, do the gym deal or checkout the arts and culture of the Berkshires this is the place. The Doctors, massage therapists, energy healers, nutritionists and even metaphysical folks here are top notch and all assembled in one big beautiful building. An old English Cottage ( can you say Mansion.a'la Downton Abby!) surrounded by state of the art five star modern hotel and spa complex. My Dad and I have done most of the activities they are the best and have great staff and a lot of the very informative lectures and talks...still weary of the ropes course but until I see a Black Lab or at least a Collie on it I am gonna take a pass! Don't let the price sway ya because you will be comparing apples to oranges if you are looking at anywhere else in the area. All the food is included not to mention top notch Latte's, juices and shakes so it is actually a deal believe it or not when you cost out the price of food and transpo etc elsewhere...they pick you up t the airport or train station but there is no alcohol which is sweet cause it makes the crowd mellower than a rowdy cocktail crowd. There is something for everyone and if your like a lot of our friends it is a great place for recovering folks as they have in house 12 step meetings for all kinds of recovering folks so you don't ever need leave the campus unless you go hiking but they drive you, guide you and fix ya if anything happens...it is top notch and really a one of kind place.......Alcoholics,, family members, over eaters, gamblers etc all the 12 steppers meet every night at 5 in a discrete location ya gotta ask for it or checkout the brochure they give you on check in. If you have never been to a 12 step meeting thisis a good place to check it out even if your not an alcoholic or addict it seems everyone knows at least one. So this is a good place to experience it. But be sure to check out the culture desk too they have great tix to Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Shakspare and Company and all the local theaters....they even drive you there and back for free! We kinda felt like rock stars at Tanglewood cause they drove us in on a private road like we were the Maestro himself! They even had lawn chairs and a snack for us....wicked cool! Oh and even though I am a service dog and welcome everywhere they do accept doggies with open arms and give great treats...( to the pups don't miss the great carrots they are organic and come with a cool belly rub! Hehe) but it would be best if they were well behaved and please pick up the doggy poop cause we like to Run on the lawn and I hate getting that stuff on my paws! Heheh read more

I am in love with this place. I can't believe there was once a time where I had to be convinced to go. Now I miss being there. Everything about it is amazing - the food and chefs, the trainers the yogis, the entire spa staff all hospitality people, all specialists --- everything and everyone here is the very top of their respective fields. It's like summer camp for adults - so many fun and beneficial activities, Fencing, Ropes, Wally ball, Tennis, Yoga and the best Spa treatments I have ever had. I even went on a guided Shamanic voyage which was incredible! I never got bored there is always something to do and you make friends so quickly, everyone is always in a good mood. It's the only place I have been where Bostonians and New Yorkers are genuinely friendly to each other. There was not one person I met that was OK with leaving - going back to the real world is hard but when you do - you are changed for the better. The peace you can attain in this place carries over into your real world. You leave happier, healthier and hopeful for the future. The closet thing I have felt to church or temple in a long time - it is a spiritual experience. read more

Mom and I just returned from our annual visit to Canyon Ranch in Lenox! We had visited last year around the same time. It is beautiful to watch the leaves change color and to enjoy the end of summer. The weather was beautiful, in the mid 70's and beautiful sunny day. We took advantage of it by going on the canoeing excursion only 10 minutes drive from Canyon Ranch. The instructors took care of everything for us and we had a wonderful time. The service is world class and excellent. From the moment you check in, you feel welcome and at ease. I was worried at first because our room was close to housekeeping and one of the main hallways. I am a light sleeper and suffer from insomnia. Well, I didn't hear a peep during our stay. The room is provided with a white noise machine to aid in sleep and the fan is strong! Great HD TV in the room we used to watch Yankees/Red Sox but honestly didn't spend too much time in the room. There is always so much to do at Canyon Ranch. It is truly an embarassment of riches because you are trying to pick between so many great activities. The spa is amazing. A few different types of steam rooms ,whirpool hot tubs, showers, and of course a very relaxing massage! Mona (visiting instructor from Tuscon) was wonderful with the pool workout. The fitness instructors were wonderful for Cardio Circuit and kept us on our toes. We had a great time in the bookbinding class with Elizabeth Kim and brought home our learning from that - we are continuing with our projects! Also the Collage: Art for the Soul class was inspiring. The food is wonderful. Honestly I wish I could get the meals sent home to me because they are just that good. I was so sad to leave Canyon Ranch! Can't wait to return next year. read more

Fantastic place for a relaxing weekend getaway! I have gone several times and look forward to my next trip! It's an easy 2ish hour drive from Boston and a true oasis away from the city. The employees are wonderful and welcoming. The food is amazingly delicious, organic, and much of it is local. Everything is well portioned so that you can maintain a healthy diet and there is plenty of fresh fruit to snack on through out your day. The packages give a good sized allowance for services and there are also plenty of free activities that you can sign up for. The massages cannot be beat. You will not find a better massage anywhere else. Lastly, the indoor pool is gorgeous with relaxing music playing in the background. This resort is definitely pricey. I always check online for any specials and/or book during their off season to save. Highly recommended! read more
