I hate to have to amend my review but after having spent 40 minutes unsuccessfully trying to contact anyone to correct my issue, I'm afraid that I have to change my review and rating. I just checked my credit card and see that there are three charges from Life house - one appears to be from the mini bar which we did not use. And there is also a bar or breakfast charge which is also not correct. I will dispute the charges with my credit card but did try to call and deal with it directly with the hotel - but no one answered at all. Important note: one of the bar charges was for AFTER we checked out and were already home!!!

    Lobby and bar. Nice.

This was an old motel that has been completely renovated. The room size is small but the renovation was high end with luxury flourishes. They also added a very nice lobby, lounge and bar area with extensive outdoor seating. They provide modest but delicious food offerings and we made a nice dinner of the canned smoked trout and cheese board. They also have modest breakfast offerings. Our room was on the back side with no view but it was very quiet and we liked it. There were a number or in room mini bar offerings at reasonable prices. There was no in room coffee maker. The price was high but we booked a weekend in August....high season for Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay but the cost was high hence the four stars vs five.

Great place for a drink and a quick bite!

This is one of the first times I have regretted being able to give a 5 star review, because this is a 10 star place!! We got checked in quickly, and put our stuff in our adorable room. Nice big bed with fluffy bed linens and a flat screen TV. Bathroom was nicely appointed with all the stuff you might possibly need. We had a fantastic dinner pre-concert...I had lobster Mac and cheese with a crisp salad and my husband had grilled cheese with short rib meat and potato salad. I had a Garden soda...really refreshing! Reasonable price and terrific with stellar service. Got back after the concert at Tanglewood, there are awesome snacks and drinks in your room if you are in need of a nosh. Requested a late checkout and got to enjoy our room a tad longer. The bedding was beyond...slept exceedingly well, with the black out shade and cool temperature in the room. Here's my shout out to Alex, who took amazing care of us...much appreciated!! Give the man a big bonus please!! We'll be back!!

My friend and I stayed here over Presidents' Day weekend and there were some things that this hotel got right and some that left much to be desired. The location of this hotel is great, as it is about a 4 minute drive from downtown Lenox. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable with Le Labo products which are a nice touch. Unfortunately, the room left much to be desired as the only lights they had in the room was a small desk lamp and a night stand light. The place to hang your coats and things was a bit flimsy to open, and not made well. Our sink also seemed to have a leak in it, and every time we would use it, water would drip down. The upsides of this hotel was again the location and they had a great restaurant and bar. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and both were very good. I would come here for drinks or dinner, but don't know that I would necessarily stay here again.

Our room was wonderful. Clean and well appointed. I like that snacks were an option. It was also nice to have on site restaurant options.

Nick and Alex were incredible hosts. The food and drinks were delicious. We loved the Club Room ~ it is very comfortable. We will be back!!!

Very friendly at check-in and answered all my questions during my stay, always with a smile on her face. My room was beautiful. I chose room 25 (Vivian) on the 2nd floor of the main house. While it's a small room, it was cozy and quite lovely. I spent some quiet time writing at the desk, and later enjoyed the fireplace with a Duraflame log provided by the inn. They also provide a free bottle of wine, which was waiting for me in my room. The next morning, hot breakfast was waiting in the dining area downstairs. There were several options, which I appreciate having a choice. The pumpkin French toast casserole, seasoned potatoes, and bacon were superb. A great way to start the day! I loved my stay so much that I'm returning in January for another night!

From the warm welcome upon arrival--complete with a welcome drink, pastries, and brownies--to the impeccable service, every detail feels well thought out. We were a bit apprehensive when we heard about the new ownership, but thankfully, much of the charm remains intact. The bar now uses a Bartesian machine, which makes good cocktails, though I can see it becoming cumbersome if multiple guests arrive at once. Breakfast is always wonderful with a variety of entrées and sides. My only wish? That they bring back the specialty coffee machine--I miss those cappuccinos! Fortunately, their excellent selection of Harney & Sons teas helps make up for it. Already looking forward to our next visit!

First impressions make all the difference. After a long exhausting drive (no thanks to rush hour…read moretraffic) from NY downstate, we were greeted warmly by Matt, who not only acknowledged our hotel loyalty status, but also offered my kids cookies and water. I happened to have forgotten the kids toothbrushes, but he quickly retrieved replacements for me. We were quickly checked in, and after we settled into the room, he even gave us a courtesy call to let us know the wi-fi password! As someone who loves a good value (and a sucker for free breakfast, I like Hampton Inns because theres a standard level of service and attention that I can expect (24 hr access to free hot coffee/tea is a nice touch). Even if the nightly cost is slightly higher than their competitors down the road, I am willing to pay a bit more for great service, and that's exactly what we got. Our room was clean and exactly as advertised. No Microwave in the room, but they did have a mini-fridge. We had plenty of walking space between the furniture, areas to rest our belongings, and hang our clothes. They even had a nightlight in the room to boot (great for anyone with kids, elderly travelers, or poor night vision!). We were a traveling party of 2 adult + 2 kids, and this room was the perfect size for our needs. The Breakfast was a little *extra* with the fun banagrams too. Coffee was hot and refilled often! Never once saw any canisters empty, as the back end staff changed them out often. There was a microwave for guest to use, and I was able to quickly heat up our lunch for the day ahead. Hope to return again during ski-season!

BEWARE of this Hotel and its unprofessional, and downright cruel GENERAL MANAGER - LAURA RUMMEL!!!!…read more We had a terrible encounter here at this Hampton Inn with Laura Rummel, General Manager. I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced.

The staff proved to be uniformly pleasant people, always helpful. The public spaces -- the dining areas and especially the recently refurbished parlor rooms which are stocked with drinks and hors d'oeuvres in the late afternoon -- are a genuine delight. So much is good here. But we have given the inn four stars not five because of the disappointing breakfasts. We were served very overcooked casseroles, overcooked scrambled eggs, grossly undercooked bacon and rather sad bits of yogurt. They really need some improvements here. That said -- and we know it requires us to be honest -- we would definitely look forward to returning with fingers crossed for some improvements in the breakfasts. And yes, 33 Main is on the pricey side, but it's high season for Tanglewood -- a very short drive away -- and given the quality here we think it's well worth considering a splurge.

Friendly, professional, smart and charismatic, we are taking about a top talent in a tough industry. The Inm is beautiful, well appointed and located in a prime location. Park your car and walk everywhere, including Tanglewood if you are so inclined (30 minutes each way). The standard rooms are TINY, but the grounds, lobby, fire pit and front porch give you no reason to be in iyour room other than sleep or shower. Speaking of which, you will laugh out loud when you see how small the bathrooms are in the regular rooms. The bathroom photos on their website are not the bathroom you will get in a standard king. You will get a phone booth with water. CONS Breakfast is a moon launch, get this poor girl some help. Put out a self serve pot of coffee with to go cups for early risers and leave it out all morning. She will love this idea, trust me. Eggs and toast were ice cold when they finally arrived, so we skipped breakfast the next morning as she was buried yet again. The bar was completely overwhelmed both nights with a large wedding and made it near impossible for anyone else to get a drink. We are talking 20 minutes due to the complexity of their cocktail program. Like everyone else, he was very hospitable, but cannot handle the bar stools, plus all of the dining room and outside cocktails on his own. Get him some help. The Inn would also benefit from an ice water station, especially on these scorching hot days. Your bartender and servers will also thank you. Lastly and the real reason for dropping a star is that we were checked into a dirty room at 3:30pm. At 600.00 per night, this is a fatal flaw and should have never happened. Never.

Not having been here before I wasn't sure this was possible. Thankfully we went with her idea and it was no problem at all. We decided on having a pre dinner cocktail. My wife ordered one of their specials - passion fruit martini. I had a traditional gin martini, stirred, with olives. The bartender (Samuel) was great. Very attentive during our time at the bar. When our reservation time came around we were taken to the dining room. Butternut squash soup and popovers to start. Following that was a family style serving of turkey (white and dark meat), mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and gravy. Everything was delicious. We were offered seconds but neither my wife or I had room for any more. Dessert was a help yourself selection of pies - pumpkin, blueberry, apple, and pecan. I tried the pecan and blueberry. Both were delicious. Highly recommend eating here.

The room was impeccably cleaned and staff were attentive to needs that came up during the visit. They came up with a table, offered us options for chairs, had all of the food wrapped in plastic and covered in warming lids, but done in a way that did not interfere with even the delicate plating details. The portions were substantial and food quality was outstanding. They even provided gluten-free options that went above and beyond to accommodate an allergy.
