Three years seems like a long time between reviews so why not break the trend. Up in Pittsfield for a couple days and needed to treat myself to some relaxation. I never have had a stone massage before so booked myself one as well as a pedicure. The place itself is what a spa should be like; relaxing, inviting, and peaceful. The host was nice and brought me to the relaxing room (waiting room) which set the mood. I talked to a lady who goes weekly and commented on how I was smiling beforehand. She knew I was in for a treat. Patricia was my therapist for the afternoon, she did an absolutely terrific job explaining what was going to be done before and making sure I was doing well during the treatment. A stone massage is probably something I will not get again but certainly would get a typical massage from her. Having constant contact is something we both agreed I could have used which you do not get with a stone massage. If you never had one before it is basically hot stones being rubbed on you. Not what the pictures portray with them sitting on your back. Feels good but nothing at this point beats a good old fashioned massage. Anna took care of my feet with the cloud nine pedicure. She gave my feet the rub down they needed and they feel great! The ladies in the room and I had good conversations going on. Found out the lady next to me also acts so we exchanged information. I am deeply troubled and disappointed to report an experience of racism at an establishment where I previously enjoyed services and recommended it to many friends. My visits for waxes were always satisfactory until an incident occurred during my latest appointment. I brought my black friend, who was merely waiting for me in the lounge. We arrived early and while waiting, we were examining the tester sprays laid out in the waiting area. I have done this many times before on earlier visits, spraying myself with perfume testers and trying on new lotion testers as well. However, this time when my friend picked up a tester, a blonde woman at the reception loudly and wrongly accused my friend of theft. She then shamelessly summoned another employee to verify if any products were missing, clearly judging based on his skin color. Of course, there were no products missing. During my wax session, the staff continued to unjustly harass my friend, despite him already showing them there was nothing in his pockets. Due to this unacceptable and revolting behavior, I will never be going back to this establishment and will be spreading the word to my college peers to boycott as well. read more

I went to Elle as a gift for a girls' day and we were all very pleased. I'm not a spa connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination -- in fact, I'm a little skeeved out by the idea of laying mostly-naked on a table and having a stranger touch me -- but I really liked the soothing atmosphere here. The smaller size of the place gives it an intimate feel. All the staff was very friendly and my masseuse asked questions as he worked to make sure that I was happy with the level of pressure he used and areas he focused on. My visit here was gifted, like I said, but the prices posted on Elle's website are very fair. Who knows -- maybe now that I'm over this hurdle I'll be getting naked on tables more often! I've gone here a few time to get my nails done, which was a great experience. The girls were friendly and helpful and overall 5 star rating. However, I can't say the same for the massage experience. The place is pretty small, so I could hear everything that was going on in the hallway and reception area during my massage. I asked the woman to try to get knots out of my shoulders, but I'm not sure it really changed the way she would have massaged me anyway. At one point, I just felt like she was putting cream on my back. I went at the same time as a friend who had a masseuse who talked the whole time saying things like "Wow, I can't believe how fast this is going!" At the end they put bean bags on your eyes to relax you and the woman said "You probably don't want this because we use this on everybody... and I mean everybody." I feel bad, because the girls who did my nails each time I went were wonderful, and I highly recommend it. My friends and I spent a 50th birthday weekend in the Berkshires, and Elle Day Spa was the only place we could find that could accommodate all 3 of us for treatments at the same time. I had the Cloud 9 pedicure (Jamie was wonderful and there is a great selection of polish colors.) and my friends each had a massage. All 3 of us were thrilled with our services. It's clean, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. We even bought gift certificates for our weekend host so that she could enjoy a treatment there as well. Highly recommend! read more

I went here to get a leg wax, recently. The staff was very friendly. I thought she was doing a good job but when I got home to check out my legs there are patches of hair all over. I grew out my hair for several weeks to make sure I got the best possible chance for a good wax. I'll say again the staff was friendly but I definitely won't be returning for any sort of treatment if this is the quality they provide. read more

I'm sorry to have to do this. I went with a girlfriend and we made appointments for two, 80 minute deep tissues massages. At $110, these were on the "cheaper" side, in comparison to other spas...however and unfortunately, the massage technicians had no idea how to do deep tissue massages. The massage technicians did not have the skill level nor the expertise. We left feeling upset and disappointed that we had just spent collectively (including tip) $250 for a horrible massage. DO NOT BOOK A SPA APPOINTMENT AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I went to the Berkshires for a girl's weekend last month. We all stayed at the Crowne Plaza (where the Elle Spa is located) and we all booked spa treatments throughout the weekend. I unfortunately got extremely sick with a stomach bug and was hotel-bound the entire weekend. When I called to cancel my massage in the morning, the manager told me that she would charge me if I did not show up. I begged her and explained it was out of my control and she suggested that I switch my appointment from 10 am to 1 pm... She did not care about the germs I would be bringing into the spa. I did not agree to a later appointment and they ended up charging me 100% of the massage. Their website states that they charge 50% of treatments for cancellations and the managers will not call me back after having left multiple messages. read more

I would like to start by saying these ladies are awesome. Customer service is starting to fail in this day in age, and I was apprehensive when I sent an email through their "Contact Us" page regarding concerns I had about my recent experience. To my surprise and delight, the owner of this spa took my email to heart, and called me directly (that day!) to discuss every detail of what happened, and how I felt. Though it turns out my negative experience was the cause of miscommunication with the party I was with, she understood exactly why I felt the way I did, and genuinely cared about my situation. She also explained the different precautions she would be taking to ensure no guest experiences the confusion I did due to our error. She REALLY CARES!!! What gives this company 5-stars is their genuine compassion for their customers, and their dedication to pure customer satisfaction. OUR error caused me to have a not-so-great experience and the owner of this spa took the time to make sure I could come back and enjoy what they really have to offer. As a customer service and hospitality professional, I have to commend this company for still compensating me for a negative experience all due to miscommunication between us girls. AMAZING! I got a spa package, (pedicure,facial,hot stone massage) and from walking in to the end everything was incredible. The attention to detail on my pedicure was spot on. I don't recall her name but I recommend you girl! I received my facial after by Christina, and wow. She was just a wonderful human to spend time with. The facial itself was Very relaxing and I could immediately see a difference in my skin. You could tell she had the knowledge and love for what she was doing. My facial also included a wonderful arm massage and warm mitts to just go the extra mile. I really appreciate that in a spa. Those small touches. After that I didn't think it could get better and... no surprise it did. I then went for my massage with a different Christina but she equally blew me away. She really took her time and didn't rush. She listened to the areas I wished to have just a little more attention to. She made sure I was comfortable and was very kind. Through this whole experience the atmosphere was what you hope for. Calm, soft, inviting, relaxing. There was this underlying respect for the people there for services. No loud talking or employees paying more attention to one another then to the person they are with. I found that VERY refreshing. Just go here. Let's not play games. I received my service 3/4/20. My wife and I received services from the spa on two different days on our honeymoon in the Berkshires. The first day we had hot stone massages, and the second day we had pedicures and facials. Everything was so great! From the atmosphere, to the staff, to the extra special touches they added for our honeymoon (like fruit, cheese, and mimosas!), I can't speak highly enough about the whole experience. It was not bad but it wasnt excellent either. The employees here are all really nice. The mani pedis are decent. They stock a good variety of nail brands too. And now the bad. The methodology of services seem to be lacking. The massage technique was lackluster. The facial products stung my face and i had to ask to have it removed. Afterwards my face was still red from the experience of the extractions and from the harsh products (extractions seem to be done by her fingers and not by an instrument). They also do not use a hot towel to wipe u down after the massage and this is a problem because they have no spa facilities to shower or wash up. I would say that i have had better experiences with similar type of spas at other moderately fancier nail salons in nyc. If i were to come back here i would do just the mani pedi only. It wasnt terrible here but i wouldnt do the whole experience here again. read more

One of the things I was disappointed with is that the way it is listed "At the Crown Plaza" made me think that it was associated with the hotel and as with other spas we have been to you would be able to use the hotel facilities. This was not the case, they are completely separate (I guess this was my fault for not asking questions in advance). I had the combination reike/reflexology/massage. It was ok, but I have problems with my feet and they hurt after the reflexology part. Any other reflexology that I have gotten was so relaxing and my feet have never hurt afterwards. We traveled over an hour to go there and I am not sure I felt relaxed when it was done. It is noisy, my room was right by the front door and I could hear the squeaking every time the door was opened. My husband said his was ok, but he has gotten much better in other places. read more

This was my second time at Elle Day Spa. I have to say from the moment I walked in the staff was very friendly. The services that I had done each employee was very polite and very professional. My facial was wonderful and my masseuse gave me the best deep tissuse massage ever. Had a mani/pedi and a trial makeup done all excellent, but if you do go make sure you bring a sweater, not sure why they have it so cold. I wish they offered robes especially if you are having a facial then a massage so you don't have to get undressed then dressed then undressed then dressed again. The sitting area was a little uncomfortable and I wish they had herbal teas instead of Lipton regular and decaf black tea. I do recommed to others and will be going back in one week. read more

Got a head to toe package which for a mani, pedi, facial And massage was an amazing price to begin with. There was a friendly women who greeted me, I was given a robe and a locker and was brought to the "relaxation room" to sip tea before services began. My facial with Nikki was the best I've ever had and I have had a lot! She really knows the science behind skin and made me understand why and how weather, environment, diet and everything can affect it and all the best ways to improve and take care of it. I purchased a few things from her and i wish I had a before and after because the improvement is amazing! Thank you Nikki! My massage, mani and pedi were all very soothing and relaxing. It took me a few minutes to get back into my body before I could leave! I was truly floating on cloud 9! And all this took a few hours and the price was unbelievable.
