They let me leave looking like this

Never in my life have I gotten a haircut and not left with a blowout, and never once have I specifically had to ask for a blowout. When my hairdresser Katie told me I was done, I looked like a frizzy poodle and asked her if I could have a blowout. She said no because her next person was already here like that's my problem. Now I look horrible and have to straighten my own hair after paying $80 as I rush to pack for vacation. Thanks a lot Katie

Ok, it is that, but so much more! It's also happy hour and Steel Magnolias and the one place where townie teens hang out with summer-home snowbirds. I got a spa pedicure and dating advice. My girlfriend ran into a business contact at the drying station. The man running the show keeps everyone's manis and pedis on schedule and keeps the atmosphere fun and flirty. He clearly loves charming the ladies and it seems to work because the place was packed at 7:15pm when we went in, and all the customers seemed very at home and happy to be there. The customer service really is over the top, in a good way. They insist on putting your socks and shoes on for you, so you don't ruin your fingernails. All the while, advising you that your boyfriend or husband really should treat you this way all the time. Who doesn't agree? Actually, no one who worked at Lucky Nails was very quick to pick up that we were a capital C couple, not just a couple of girls without boyfriends. We probably could have each scored a date to some "hot club" in Springfield on the arm of a male nail tech, but my Mango Madness toes are going to tap off to some other adventure. I'm sure I'll be back (although my pedi is still looking good 3 weeks later), so I'll try to explain next time...

I was pointing to colors that I wanted and every time I asked for a certain color he brought a different one. After the third time, when he kept on bringing me the wrong color I just got annoyed and just gave up. So I just went with a color I didn't even want. And tell me why they charged me 142$ to get a mani and pedi for me and my 6-year-old daughter. Yes, we both got gel, I know that's extra but 17$ for gel polish is ridiculous. They said I could go back next time and get 10$ off my service but that is just not worth it to me. I rather never go back again. Don't go here unless you want to get ripped off. 142$ is honestly outrageous. I never went to a nail salon that charged me that much.

Something however I have always noticed is the uncleanliness. There is no new tools being used for an each client. They are simply spritzed with alcohol and filthily reused. Every single time however I have left with cuts on two or three of my fingers at least. The first time that I had an absolutely horrendous experience, however is something I will never forget. I went in asking for short natural colored acrylics. the man doing my nails had wired headphones in attached to his iPhone the whole time not once did he look me in the eyes say hello to me or acknowledge me in anyway. he was speaking in his primary language, the whole time on discord and was playing games- at some point, I sat for five minutes straight while he tapped on his phone in his lap head all the way down completely ignoring me. I got to the point where I was so upset I considered leaving with just one hand halfway done. Finally, I said, excuse me and he said give me a second. completely inappropriate. not just that, but my fingers and nails were filed so thin and completely sliced up. I could barely wash my hands with water without it feeling like my hands were on fire. And when I didn't tip, they all looked at me like I was crazy even though my hands were raw and shaking. Foolishly, I just now went back six months after I had that horrible experience. I requested a simple French tip acrylic. Ana was my nail tech- every single time I asked her to fix the shape of something or file it thinner etc she would look at me say why then she would speak in her primary language to her coworker before they would both be speaking and looking at me then she would in a clearly annoyed manner file my nails or and barely fix what I asked. I am a very kind girl and never seemed like I was complaining or whining. I'm simply a customer asking for my nails to be done the way that I'm paying for them to be done. That's not even the biggest issue. The biggest issue was I had six week outgrown acrylic left on my nails (from the normal private nail tech I usually go to) that I couldn't get off for the life of me and I'd specially requested to have a soak off and NOT to have them try to rip off the acrylic (Idek why that is what they would do in the first place.) She told me no and proceeded to try to rip off my old acrylics for five minutes before I started crying. I asked her two more times to stop trying to rip them off and to do a soak off and each time she disregarded me. I had also said I didn't want my natural length cut because my nails had been so nicely grown. I have no nail left. My natural nails are so thin now from being overfilled, I have no length and the skin around my nails is raw. Never go here unless you want to be overcharged for the most horrible painful nail experience. getting nails done should be a relaxing experience and I promise you will not find it at beauty times.

Its pulse doesn't shake the shopping centers or the offices or the multitudes they carry. It honors no arrhythmia before the Capitol or the architecture that has grown around it. Because it's often the case that the biggest machine lives and dies not by its most imposing part, but by the smallest pin in its center. It's easy to miss Patsy's Barber Shop if you're weaving through the traffic of State and Pearl. You have to know to take the right onto Howard Street and go slowly enough not to miss the white neon tubing that brightens the shop and casts just enough of its glow onto the sidewalk to let you see the barbers ply their trade. Patsy's opened in 1930 at the cusp of the Great Depression, when a proper haircut was a man's resume and the newspaper on the empty seat was the employment office. It was a family business, like many that had dotted the downtown and further south to the neighborhoods that would eventually be sacrificed to Nelson Rockefeller's sense of grandeur. William "Tragedy" Yager now presides over the memories absorbed into the mirrors and the padded chairs. Since 2006, he's followed in the footsteps of his great grandfather, a man who likely opened up shop as he always did on the day Japanese planes set off for infamy. And anyone who's had a seat in one of his chairs and a hot towel on their face knows that Tragedy didn't just inherit a trade; he inherited a love and a duty to everyone that crosses the threshold. A large man with a long, thick beard and a tapestry of tattoos lining both temples, he wouldn't strike you as a man you would want to meet in a dark alley. But again, the seat, the hot towel, two minutes in conversation, and you'll realize that he's exactly the man you would want to meet in a dark alley if your car broke down, if you were cold, hungry and scared, if everybody passed you by. Because there are certain things you can expect from those possessed of the instinct of leadership. But what you may not expect is that sometimes, the places where matters are truly decided accept walk-ins. Patsy's Barber Shop has two locations, 3 Howard Street in downtown Albany and Room 126 on the Concourse Level. Call for an appointment and check for hours. And be sure to patronize the many barbers Tragedy has trained personally.

I contacted him the day before to cancel since I thought I wouldn't be able to make it into his office. To my surprise, he was so kind to offer coming to my location with the equipment needed to conduct the session. I'm super grateful he offered me this convenience as well as glad that I was trusting and open to receive this accommodation. Like anything, it takes a moment for the mind to relax and come into the body fully. It was not long before Dave was able to use his skills and experience to tackle a deep ancient knot that was located in my left shoulder that I was honestly unaware existed before he was able to get it out and noticed a huge difference. From my toes to my head, I felt an overall deep relaxation and calmness that he was able to achieve through his focus and attention. I highly recommend booking sessions with Dave. He is truly a talented individual. Thanks again so much Dave for this lovely first experience!

I've suffered for years with shoulder and elbow issues from skiing, golfing and complete overuse of my forearm/shoulder in various home renovation projects over the years - decades in fact. I had been to many massage therapists, physical therapists, osteopaths, etc. over the years and have had cortisone and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections in both my shoulder and elbow - all without any meaningful or lasting results. Dave's approach is to go right to the source of pain/discomfort and has provided me with some exercises to compliment his treatments. He is very professional and for those that are squeamish about massage/soft tissue work, Dave works on his patients with clothes on. If you're looking for a simple rub, Dave's not your guy. But if you believe you have deep structural issues/injuries/scar tissue/knots, I'd recommend you give him a try. I still have some treatments to go, but Dave's work thus far has allowed me to sleep on my right side/shoulder without me waking up. This has been a very welcome change indeed! Dave has been flexible to meet me at my home and other locations to provide his services. Highly recommended.
