Coming from another salon in the area, I have to admit I was a little hesitant. But I had confidence in Samantha, my hair stylist, since I was a former client. She transformed my dry over-straightened and processed hair into a curly bob that I should have had all along. After my cut, I was treated to a quick tour of the spa by the lovely receptionist. I was surprised by the roomy and warm( heated tables) massage rooms. But what I am really looking forward to and can't wait to try is the steam showers, complementary with your massage. Never in my life have I gotten a haircut and not left with a blowout, and never once have I specifically had to ask for a blowout. When my hairdresser Katie told me I was done, I looked like a frizzy poodle and asked her if I could have a blowout. She said no because her next person was already here like that's my problem. I got my hair done here for my wedding last year and let me tell you, it was an emotional rollercoaster. I called months in advance to book and sent photos of exactly what I wanted. The manager assured me they had someone who could create the look (pin waves - not the easiest or most common look, which is why I sent photos in advance. I have thick long hair so I know I can achieve this style). When I came in they had booked me with their most junior employee who had zero idea how to achieve the look I wanted. She teased my hair for an hour probably then tried to style it. It wasn't working, it looked like crap, she kept messing it up, to the point where I started crying. Thank god for another stylist who came and helped her save my hair. Ultimately I didn't get the look I wanted but my hair looked nice. She did an updo along the basic vibe that I was going for. They ended up refunding me the entire cost because their stylist failed, it took twice as long as it was supposed to, and she totally fried my hair in the process. I was even late to my makeup. I ended up tipping the other lady who stepped in to help me out the cost of my appointment. The manager seemed annoyed at me during checkout but honestly I would never come back to this place. The manager clearly messed up this booking, thank god for the other stylist that happened to be there that day. read more

Please avoid this salon. The manicurist, Anita, was insulting, dismissive, and argumentative upon meeting this first time customer. She was visibly annoyed that the manager, Julie, informed her of the wrong name when she came to get me in the waiting room. When I tried to clarify the error and introduce myself, she sighed loudly and rolled her eyes. At her station, I asked for her name and she barked at me to pick a shellac before I sat down. I had a few questions that I tried to ask her. As I did so, she rolled her eyes at me and then looked at another customer to roll her eyes about me to her. I was dismayed and upset. I discontinued the interaction. I informed the manager, Julie, that I felt that Anita's behavior was rude and unprofessional. Julie gave me a superficial apology but then proceeded to indirectly insult me by insinuating that this experience was my fault. I have never been treated this way in any salon. I have been going to a stylist, Sam, for years now. We started off on a stressful note (I think I was the only one stressed) , I came into her salon and my hair was FRIED (with second degree burns) from a DIFFERENT salon!! She took me in and helped me. Within a few weeks my hair was healthy and STRONG. She did whatever it took to make sure I left the salon happy every time. She would send me messages asking me how I was doing, and send me home with travel sized hair masks in between appointments. I owe Sam my life, truly! I recently just started going to Seven due to Sam moving salons. Seven salon is calming, relaxing, and friendly. Everyone is so welcoming and the other stylists come over and compliment your hair in the process. Every time I go in, I leave with exactly what I asked for. Sam has made me a platinum blonde to a dark brown, and everything in between. We talk about how many colors we have been through together all the time. She is really amazing at her job. While I'm looking around seven salon as I'm getting my hair done, everyone leaves so happy and so beautiful. I recommend this salon and all of the stylists... they are all amazing. read more

Tucked inside a buttery yellow house, Seven Salon Spa is a full-service salon and spa that lives just a few notches below luxury status. The down-to-earth feel and accessible, warm and unpretentious atmosphere make for an easy transition to from your daily activities to your spa services, while some of the details keep it from really measuring up to the price tag. Our 50-minute massages, priced at $90 each, where absolutely amazing on their own: skilled technicians who worked slowly but firmly, while quietly checking to see if the pressure/technique was to our satisfaction. Afterward, my back, arms and legs felt free of tension and my body was more relaxed than it had been in ages. But since you are also paying for atmosphere and amenities at a spa, it's important to consider those in the price. Though the salon is dressed in calming colors, relaxation before and after your treatment is a bit contrived, since there is little separation between the spa/massage/facial area (on the second floor) and the salon services on the first. The spa lounge, peppered with comfy lounge chairs and a self-serve tea and water station (with lots of delicious teas) contained a changing room that is little more than a single drawback curtain. Once we began, the massage tables were a little squeaky and continued to shift around and slide slightly. Even with the background music, you could hear the talking, clanking and general noise wafting up from the first floor. Though the massages were wonderful, these little points deducted from the overall spa experience. Though I would consider Seven Salon Spa to be a little overpriced, the experience was the perfect way end to a weekend in the Berkshires. read more

I love Stockbridge. I have visited several times. Even though I have a regular stylist at home (Long Island), I decided to treat myself to color and a massage. Kate was amazing! My hair looks fabulous! Loved her! Alex, however, was a very disappointing masseuse. He seemed extremely annoyed that I was 5 minutes late (finishing my hair downstairs) and was unpleasant in his demeanor. As for the massage, I did not care for his touch. I was there on vacation and wanted to treat myself. I was a walk in client. I asked if there was time for a manicure. I was put with kendi. She was having a bad day and was in a bad mood. Instead of approaching me with "hello" or "hi my name is kendi" i was approached with " I have to leave by 3pm" I told her that is okay if she didnt have time. She said she could do it but she was on a time crunch. I was not to crazy about the customer service so far. When she was done with my manicure it looked AMAZING!!! The best polish job ever. I have been going to Seven for many years and believe the majority of the staff are kind, friendly, and down to earth however I was appalled by the recent interaction I encountered with the OWNER (who you would assume would be all of these characteristics and more). I was cashing out like normal and the owner was seated at the cashiers seat, I handed him my card, he swiped, and said, "declined" I asked him to try again (as I knew there were funds available) and he responds again with a mean, arrogant remark stating "Declined, Declined means you don't have enough money in your bank" mind you, there were other people around witnessing this interaction (can you Imagine the embarrassment?) I have worked in several customer service roles in my life and was taught at best to never use the phrase "declined" as it can be extremely offensive and devaluing to the individual LET ALONE to proceed in defining the term as if one didn't know the meaning and state that it means YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY IN YOUR BANK? I am fortunate enough to have enough money in my account and if he would have had the technology available to read a chip, my card would not have been declined. I should have spoken up in the moment and called him out on his disrespectful, marginalizing slander but did not have the courage to do so in that moment. I find the owner Mauricio to be extremely arrogant, haughty, and pretentious with no clear reason to be. I want the public to know how insensitive this man is and clearly how superior he feels in comparison to his customers. I will visit seven again only to support Ashely who is the opposite of the type of character Mauricio is, but will refuse to pay him any acknowledgment or respect from this day forward and will make my experience known to the public. Colette, I think you need a new Salon. I can only agree with MissMrsR, the gal who used you at Seven Salon for her wedding and liked you but also experienced awful customer service at the hands of your owner and colleagues. I live in Stockbridge year round. I tried Collette once for a color and I liked her and the color very much. I also had a pedicure there which I liked. Expensive? Sure but I didn't care. I noticed that the front desk gal was a bit lame. Never made eye contact while I stood in front of her while she spoke on the phone for quite a few minutes when I arrived. I also witnessed bickering between the staff and put downs by one staff person to another behind a third person's back. AWKWARD! They act like the clients are not there but we are and we can hear you! Nevertheless, I live here and figured I'd go regularly for color and pedicures. I called today to make an appointment. A gentleman answered the phone. I asked for an appointment today with Collette and he informed me in a nasty way that she was booked "way in advance" and that it "was season" so I could forget seeing her any time soon. I explained that I simply needed a roots touch up, lived in the area and would do my own blow out. Nope. I asked if there was perhaps another person who could color my roots as they are just brown. Nope. No regrets or attempt to help. If the business you guys do "in season" is enough to keep you going all year, good for you. Excellent customer service... Colette is a gifted, talented stylist. When I was in last week with a different stylist, there was a miscommunication and I didn't receive the hairstyle and color style that I wanted (though the stylist did do a beautiful color, just not what I had wanted, and not the cut I requested)... the salon worked hard to make sure that I was pleased with my hair and I came in again for a different haircut and they offered to change the color if I wished, but I felt that just a fix on the cut would be fine. My husband and I were on a weekend getaway to the Berkshires 1/4-1/6/2019, weather was cold and rainy so we went to Norman Rockwell in the morning.On a whim we decided to try to get massages that Sat. Afternoon( knowing our chances were slim).After reading various websites and reviews we chose Seven Salon because of its website and good reviews. I called and spoke to Kayla, very friendly and up beat and was delighted to inform us that a party had cancelled for that afternoon and she could accommodate us for back to back massages at 4 and 5 pm. The Salon is very clean and up to date. Kayla was just as friendly and helpful in person too. While we waited ,Kayla gave us great recommendations for dinner and things to do in the area. I had my massage first,the masseuse ( I'm sorry I did not write down her name) was fantastic! The massage table was warm,very soothing music played in background and she gave me a very relaxing Swedish massage( my husband went next,his first time, agreed with my review). While my husband had his massage I treated myself to a wash and blowdry,nice little scalp massage! During my time in the hair area ,I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with one of the owners,Mark. Mark was a pleasure to talk to ,his pride in his craft is apparent and being there made me wish I lived closer,as I felt so at ease there! Wow. Legitimately the best facial I've ever received. I came here for a friend's wedding the next day and wanted to have a beautiful complexion for photos and the big moment. I was greeted and asked to wait in the upstairs lounge, a peaceful space Nicole was a true professional with many years of experience. This place is FANTASTIC!! I spent the day at Seven Salon Spa for my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better gift. First of all it's beautiful, very clean, and they use very high end products. I had a manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage. All FABULOUS!! Everything was seamless and I didn't have to wait long between each service. Moreover, the staff is incredibly friendly. I got my hair and makeup done here for my wedding in November 2014. Collette did a really incredible job, and I was thrilled at how it came out. Thank you, Collette! I would give her 5 stars (and then some). She was also sweet and fun and put me at ease. The salon, however, was very difficult to work with leading up to the wedding. At my trial appointment in September, the owner Maurice and one of his employees got into an argument at the front desk while I was paying. She stormed away and slammed a door. This was uncomfortable. It got worse when Maurice asked my bridesmaid who had come along to keep me company if she was my mother! (We are only 3 years apart.) Awkwardness aside... that day of the trial I scheduled two appointments: 1 for the day before the wedding for a blowout Collette said I would need, and 1 for the actual wedding day. During the weeks leading up to the wedding, I tried contacting the salon several times with questions I had about payment, serving lunch to my bridal party, and seeking a copy of my contract with a receipt for the 20% deposit I had made. I left 3 voicemails. These calls were not returned. I let my venue manager know, since she recommended Seven Salon to me, and she even tried calling. She was able to find out that Maurice was on vacation. I could not understand why no one else at the salon would have heard my messages and responded to me. When I finally got through to Maurice a week before the wedding, he did apologize. But when I tried confirming my appointments with him, he let me know there was NOT an appointment for my blowout the day before the wedding. We went back and forth, me assuring him that I had made the appointment back in September, him insisting I had not. I lost it. Please note this is the only time I lost it with any vendor during wedding prep. Thankfully, he eventually said I could have my appointment. So as planned and instructed, I got my blowout the day before my wedding. On the wedding day, the staff did a beautiful job on my whole bridal party. I think they all had a great time and really enjoyed their stylists. I would certainly not recommend this salon however. Working with them was actually the most stressful part of my wedding planning. I am a regular, and can recommend Collette and Michael D. Both are superb, personable, and super-professional. It's challenging to find someone who can give you a distinctive haircut anywhere, but especially in this area where attitudes toward fashion tend to be "safe" and rather suburban. I used to go to New York for cut and color, but am pleased that I need do so no longer. Also, the atmosphere is quite pleasant. I've always been rather allergic to the whole salon culture but here, although the place is quiet beautiful, it's very low-key, no attitude. read more

Her warm greeting and cheerful attitude was matched by her consummate professional suggestion for me, to think about and consider a more framed cut which my ends would benefit from as well; Yes, I did ask her for that opinion. I wondered aloud if she, by chance, had time to do this cut, right then on the spot, and she did. I left with a fresh updated shaped and framed cut, (nothing drastic) and the smoothest blow dry, very happy.
