I found this establishment to be VERY enjoyable. I had to run some errands in Pasadena, and found myself in need of coffee mid day. I had never heard of this place, but decided to give it a try. The coffee tasted great: the espresso was rich and brewed well. We also shared a breakfast burrito that came with a delicious salsa on the side. The ambience of this shop was very cool too, I could see spending a few hours there with coffee. If you want a sweet spot to get a cup of coffee and relax, check this place out! read more

Delicious coffee! Great service!!! The signature iced chai, made dirty, was perfect! The wait was very short , especially for a Saturday morning. read more

Quick summary: They have good coffee and decent pastries but don't go out of your way. Details: I've been here probably 20x since they've opened cause I live walking distance to this spot. Have tried their americanos, lattes, chai's, and iced tea and all are consistently good. Their pastries are overpriced but good - I get them once in awhile but if they dropped the price 30-50% I'd get them every time. They're priced like a higher end bakery and the quality is good, but not THAT good. The only real problem here that stops this from being a 5 star spot is the consistently poor to mediocre service. Generally cold, rude, or dismissive... it doesn't matter if you tip every time or can order pleasantly and concisely, they seem to not enjoy being there... The kicker is *i think* the service started to improve lately AFTER they started training the "at risk youth" program which may or may not seem backwards. The baristas I used to see often a year ago who really really were extremely I haven't seen and some of the people who are clearly trying, are decent humans. Don't get me wrong, the people who seem like supervisor or actual employees still seem very cold, so perhaps there is a management issue with service or lack of connection with staff, but that's their main issue. There is a lot of good coffee spots close by, and this place is not cheap, so if you're looking for a place to become a regular at or add to your rotation, I generally wouldn't recommend this spot unless you live super close by like I do. Ps: charming little brewery connected to them with solid beers and good food read more

If you're looking for a coffee shop away from the business of West Pasadena, Rose Bud is a great spot to relax and enjoy some coffee and grub. My go to here is a hot vanilla latte because I love the taste of their espresso and I usually pair it with their strawberry jam-filled almond croissant. By far my favorite croissant at any shop that I go. It is a very popular spot for college students and sometimes it may be hard to find a spot to sit, but they also have an outdoor patio in the back that has some shade. I recently tried their menu food items and discovered that their vegetarian breakfast burrito it delicious! It comes with a side of a pesto sauce that tops it off really nice. $15-16 for a coffee and burrito seem a tad bit expensive, but I wouldn't pay that if the flavor wasn't there. Never fear about parking. There is plenty around the whole shop. read more

Good coffee for a great cause. Loved the open space and high ceiling. Nice decor with lots of seatings. There's plenty of parking spaces in the front and back of the place. Got a lavender latte, which was a pretty good latte, but didn't taste any lavender though. Golden latte with oat milk was decent. read more

Quality coffee, easy parking but what I like most is that they train young people as part of their business model.

Living by this shop is the best, I use to come here pre-pandemic to study and hang out for cup of good coffee. Free WiFi, everyone is nice here. It so nice clean and dog friendly, huge space. They have outdoor spot also now. My go to spot when I run out of coffee at home or if Im walking my dogs I'll grab a cup! They do sell food and pastry but never had them before. read more

Came here to meet a friend. Tried an Americano and their burrito. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I thought the Americano was good and the burrito was delicious. Plenty of parking which is a real plus in Pasadena. And plenty of seats too. I think some people just just sit and work all day until closing. read more

Was coming in to work on my laptop, potentially get a cute drink. Wanted to get set-up first so I sat down, got my laptop out and tried to connect to Wi-Fi, saw I needed password so I asked the bartender. He said "we don't have WiFi on weekends" Saw 2 other people on WiFi, working on laptops next to me... pretty funny. Went somewhere else~ Good ambiance though, cute deco and smells like good food. I remember I came a few months back and got iced tea. The tea wasn't the vibe but the coffee my friend got was alright read more

Great location, really nice staff, good food and coffee. Solid spot to hang out or do work.

Love this place! Cute, clean & spacious. Great space to work or study, free wifi with purchase. A great place to meet up with friends, with a huge parking lot in the back. This coffee spot on Colorado boulevard is a must visit for the delicious coffee and fresh pastries. They have a lot of seating inside the store with ceiling to flow windows and some outside in the font and plenty of patio seating. What drew me most to this spot is the reason they were established and the cause they support. They are an organization that support the at risk youth in Pasadena/LA with an aptly suited tag line - coffee with a cause. They have been featured on NBC news and teen Vogue for their efforts all over Los Angeles finally opening their brick and mortar location in Pasadena. They have events to showcase local talent and raise funds for their cause as well. Learn more about thee cause here - https://www.rosebudcoffee.com/about. The space next door is planned for a brewery but it is not yet open. Support this wonderful coffee shop and help them with their cause! read more

Came here on an early Saturday afternoon and there was no line. Ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk and it was pretty good, definitely one of the better ones I've tried in Pasadena (and I've had a lot). Simple and straight to the point - not disappointed! The interior is light and airy which is nice, with a decent amount of seating. Only complaint is it's a little echoey, so I could see it getting really loud when busy. There is designated parking in the back which is really convenient. read more

I dropped by this place after getting a car wash. Plenty of parking in the back. I originally wanted to get an iced vanilla latte but they're currently out vanilla syrup. Tho the Iced Oat milk latte was everything I wanted in a latte. Perfect for a hot summer day~ The place looks like it's still under construction but lots of tables and seating. I'd def come here to work/study. read more

This is an unique coffee shop. Shares the location with a brewery...especially nice if your friends don't want a cup of Joe. Good coffee menu with quality/yummy pastries. Their motto - "coffee with a cause". It felt good that my purchase supported work in empowering at-risk and homeless youths. read more

The litmus test for any good coffee shop is IMO the macchiato. One quick sip of a macchiato will answer 3 important questions about the baristas and the shop in general: 1. Is the milk burned/overheated? (visual & taste) 2. Is the machine dialed in and delivering excellent -not bitter- espresso? (taste) 3. Is the disposable cup the cheap kind with the paraffin that melts at coffee temperature leaving a tangy not-nice taste in your mouth? (Taste) I am pleased to report that Rosebud coffee consistently serves the best coffee around. From up high on Washington blvd to down low in San Marino, none of the coffee shops even compare -and that includes those that roast their own beans! The baristas consistently pour the best espresso around. Big fan of the baked goods. Wish there was a bakery in this spacious shop as well! read more

Coffee for a good cause! This was my second visit to Rosebud in Pasadena. The first time, I went with Sathy. It was early morning, so I wasn't really focused. We did find free street parking right in the front! They also have parking in the back. Another good thing about this place is the free WiFi. People were hanging out in this spacious, casual place. It seemed like such a calm and clean environment for studying and getting some work done! The best thing about this place is its mission. After reading Tiffany's and John T.'s reviews, I agree with them that Rosebud is a special place. While serving up great coffee (I got a chai latte with oat milk) and yummy pastries, this small business helps youth gain job skills! I'm sure that there are way more benefits gained and successes achieved while Rosebud blossomed from a small coffee cart into a large coffee cafe. I just want to state that this business is so awesome in its mission and I want to support it! read more

I like it here, though it's frustrating that there are barely any gluten-free alternatives. Lunch is all sandwiches. How hard can it be to keep a loaf of gluten-free bread? Wait let me answer that question, it's not hard. read more

first time coming to rosebud on the hunt to find a place to study/work. vibes were nice, super large space but surprisingly it was a bit hard to find a table. everyone was doing some work here or just meeting up to chat. my friend and i met up to work together and he got the table before i got there. he got a cappuccino and i got a chai latte with almond milk. not what i expected, very spicy and not sweet. definitely cleared my throat during this cold rainy day but not sure if it's up my alley. but i would love to try their other drinks as well. we also split two orders, one of the spicy bird i believe and then i got the burrito. it was smaller than i thought but i know the sandwich came with a bag of chips. free wi-fi, spent about 3 hours studying here, maybe would try again. wish there were more charger ports though. read more

Rosebud Coffee - THE SPICY BIRD, Breakfast Burrito - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Pasadena, California

Starbucks style coffee shop, the space is nice with a lot of seats but coffee drinks are extremely poor quality

I was picking up some things in the area and figured since I was being productive, I'd treat myself to a coffee. It was a Saturday mid afternoon and there was a line for this place so I took that as a good sign. I wasn't in a rush so the wait didn't seem that offensive. Everyone was socially distanced so maybe that made the line seem longer than it really was? Either way, service was prompt and efficient, no small talk. Street parking was also really easy. I went with an iced oat milk latte and was pleased with the balanced smoothness of the drink. Sometimes you get a latte where all you taste is milk, but this one was just right. I like the location of the store, there's so many businesses around that you can really just order a coffee and go on a leisurely stroll. Hopefully we'll able to enjoy more carefree adventures like this soon. read more

I've been passing by all the time but never tried it. I was looking for a coffee shop on a Sat morning. This one came across my mind so I went. There is a parking lot at the back and some street parking, parking is not a big issue. The shop is really spacious! There are plenty of outlets if you need to charge your devices. I ordered a Flat White with almond milk. It was decent. The price is reasonable. I'll definitely come back to try other coffee! read more

This place is huge! Nice place to study with so many tables. It looks like they have a decent amount of spots with outlets too. I ordered the Kenya pour over and loved it! Prices for drinks here are pretty decent. The Kenya pour over was $4 something, which is great! I've been to places that serve pour overs for $6-7. :( They have a huge free parking lot in the back and they're dog friendly! Convenient location to come and stay here for hours. read more

This is my weekly coffee spot but I was really disappointed today. I went and ordered an iced tea, specifically asking the employee if they refill it and she said yes. When I was leaving, I asked the person at the front (different employee) for the refill and she told me that they only refill drip coffee. I told her the other employee had told me she would refill it. That other employee came over and confirmed that was what she told me. However, the second employee still refused. I told her that if I had gotten the correct information, I would have ordered a coffee instead and she just shrugged. I really want to support local coffee shops but they need to honor their own employee statements and treat their customers right. Two stars because they were pretty good until this happened. read more

Coffee with a cause! I love supporting a good cause! This cafe hires and trains formerly homeless and transitional aged youth as their baristas. They also support local businesses and nonprofits to give back to the community. + Iced lavender latte: I got this with 2% milk and it was pretty good. It was the right amount of sweetness and even after some of the ice had melted, the flavor was still there. + Strawberry almond croissant: What attracted my attention to this was the amount of almonds that was on it. There was A LOT! Usually almond croissants are topped with some sliced almonds but this one was smothered. It was very flaky and not too bready/doughy, loved it! Make sure you ask them to heat it up for you, it'll taste even better. It is extremely spacious in here and there are plenty of tables for you to get your work done. The tables are very spread out which gives you more than enough personal space. I love that there's plenty of natural light coming in, makes it a very bright and welcoming atmosphere. Abundant parking space in their back parking lot and there's also street parking on Colorado blvd. Come check this place out and support them! read more

Good coffee shop for working! Space is very minimal, but has outlets and a decent amount of work space. Rosebud is a beautiful space for coffee and light work. Modern open interior, with super high ceilings. This is not necessarily a morning person's spot. They are sometimes a few minutes late to open, and baristas are often half-asleep and grumpy. They detest you for making them show up to work early (it's all your fault!) The floor-to-ceiling storefront facing north floods the expansive space with the perfect amount of natural light, rain or shine. Bonus: Plentiful parking both on front curb and in rear lot. read more
