A very nice "coast" restaurant. The Oregon coast (pretty much the whole length) is not the place to go for fancy service or Zagat favorites. That said, this place really stands out among other little coast restaurants. First and foremost is the view -- while most of the Oregon coast is beautiful, this place has a really stunning view. The dishes we ordered (tiger prawns and rock shrimp in garlic sauce, and halibut) were also very good. Preparation was very nice (the menu says they hire chefs from Portland) with good variety and very good flavor. Desserts were another highpoint -- we shared marionberry cobbler and chocolate caramel crunch cake, and ended up ordering a serving of lemon sponge-pudding cake with marionberry sauce to take home. Overall, a very pleasant find. I'd definitely go there again. read more

Quaint seaside cafe with delicious pasta dishes. Menu is more varied even than that with local dishes and checked. One of the few dining experiences in the Tillamook area. Well worth the jaunt over. When I checked in, I didn't know what to write, so I wrote "Average." Not sure once I finished the meal whether I would rate it Average or Below Average. It's a small home-y restaurant with a vintage vibe. Great view of the ocean if you're near the back windows. We started with entrees. The halibut was actually quite tasty! Great seasoning and the fish was juicy. The hazelnut chicken which everyone raved about on Yelp was too sweet and had too much sauce. The most disappointing thing I had was the cobbler. It was a soup of sweet blueberry sauce and then a straight up biscuit plopped into the middle of the soup. The ingredients couldn't have been more separated out. There wasn't a crust or crumble or anything. Just one single dense biscuit that tasted like the biscuit you get at McDonald's. I just googled recipes of blueberry cobblers to make sure I'm not going crazy. I'm not. I was excited for the dessert, and the hype made it even more of a let down. We came here, because it was a 45-second walk from where we were staying. I would just drive out to somewhere else next time. read more

Food was pretty good, however the wait and service were incredibly slow. We were told it would be a 25 minute wait and it was almost an hour. Then we sat about 20 at our table before the server came. Our dinner was good though. We got the crab cakes which were mostly crab and not at all greasy, the cheese and fruit plate and the salmon, which was delicious. You should go if you're staying in Oceanside, because this place is WAY better than the one down the street, but just don't come hungry, because there will be a long wait. read more

Disappointed with the poor customer service to say the least. Picked up my mom and drove 2 hrs to come here after reading the better reviews. When we got there, we saw it was busy- understood, but the staff didn't even look our way and more people came in after us. They all looked down at the floor and away from the door. They didn't seem in a rush, but eye contact and acknowledgment would have been appreciated. Finally, after 4 minutes, I stopped a gal and she assumed we were already on a list. Without a smile and a mumble as she walked to the counter, said the wait would be "30 minutes, maybe less, maybe more". No smile, no care. We left and won't come back. Customer service to me, takes precedence over quality. It's a shame nowadays that some people don't take pride in their position in the customer service realm. I got the veggie fettuccine and I could tell some of the veggies were canned others were fresh and the Alfredo sauce was a little water for me but the flavor was amazing! I would go back. Such a wonderful cafe on the Oregon Coast! Our group came in for lunch with a party of 12 for lunch in late September. The staff seated us and took orders quickly. The food came out just as quickly and the orders were all correct. Wait staff kept a close eye on water glass and iced tea refills. Food was freshly prepared and a definite cut above in quality from a beach diner. The clam chowder was unusual and delicious. My husband picked their Marionberry Cobbler--a hat tip to Oregon agricultural invention-- for dessert which was well balanced and not too sweet. They have a rotating desert menu and a cute lobby where you can shop art pieces from local artists. Highly recommend! You're in good hands here. read more

I brought some friends here to enjoy a meal and never even got to the food. This was actually the first time I ever walked out of a restaurant because of service that they didn't show us. I couldn't believe it. We came in and waited to be seated at the "please wait to be seated" sign for at least 10 mins. Not a single person even looked our way to let us know that we would be helped. It more so looked like they were ignoring us as a whole. We stood around for a little while longer and realized why are we going to pay someone our money if they look like they don't even want us there. Another gentleman was sitting on the bar stool and was also waiting to be served. He told us the same thing, "not a single person acknowledged him," I have no idea how long he was waiting for as he was there when we walked in. So, in the end, don't waste your time with this place. We walked out and went to "The Schooner Restaurant" down the street. Where we were greeted right away, brought to our seats within a minute of walking in and the service was like night and day in comparison. Glad it even worked out that way because if it didn't we would have been stuck at that place with terrible service. read more

This is absolutely one of my favorite places on the Oregon Coast! I love the spectacular view of the ocean from all of the tables. The food is consistently wonderful. The clam chowder is delicious and I always indulge and get a bowl. The Snug Harbor Sandwich is my favorite with shrimp and crab with melted cheese and aioli drizzle. The deserts are tasty and I like to get the three milk coconut cake which is the most moist cake I have eaten. The staff are all welcoming and make me feel like I am home for a Sunday Brunch. So many wonderful things to say about this place! Where to start... Easy walking distance from Oceanfront Cabins where we stayed. Beautiful view of the ocean from this restaurant! Donna was so nice and helpful...a truly awesome person We'd had a very LONG day of driving, so we appreciated her help in offering the perfect recommendations for drinks, dinner & dessert. Everything my husband & I ordered here was delicious! I'm not joking when I say the "Saints on a Wire" which was skewered scallops (cooked perfectly) with bacon, & an aioli sauce, was the best food I've eaten in years. Creative seafood dishes for the daily specials, great wine menu, and awesome views! I had lingcod with pesto and tomatoes baked in parchment paper. Despite a charred piece, the cod was succulent! My partner had salmon with cucumber dill shrimp salad on the side. The salad was delectable but could've used some crunch to help the texture. Salmon was a bit plain but still tasty. We both raved about the soups - a clam chowder and a seafood curry! I'd go back for a whole bowl of either. Nice servers - checked in on us multiple times. Seriously couldn't ask for a better dinner experience. Stop off with family from out of state. Had the Dungeness crab cake appetizer, it had very large pieces of crab and was delicious. I had the halibut with herb butter and wild rice. So good, everyone enjoyed their meals including the salmon, pasta, and burger. Plus you can't beat the view. The service was great as well. My daughter and I went here tonight, if only because there wasn't much to speak of in Netarts or Tillamook, and some folks on Yelp had recommended it highly. We walked in and sat at the counter. The woman working there was talking to another worker who was sitting at the counter. (We got there early and were the only customers in the whole place.) She saw us come in, obviously, yet she completely ignored us. Finally, the guy at the counter (Israel) said something in Spanish to her and she decided to acknowledge our presence. Despite that odd introduction to the restaurant, we had to sit down because, well, see the previous paragraph. Our waitress deigned to wait on us. She assessed me up and down (sunglasses on top of head, shorts, etc.), and seemed almost put out to wait on me. Whatever. I ordered the spicy garlic penne with tiger prawns and scallops. The dish was good, but the scallops were overcooked. My daughter's grilled cheese sandwich was both grilled and cheesy; difficult to muck that one up. Our waitress disappeared for 15 minutes or so. We had to get another waitress to get her attention. She was also talking to someone at the front counter. Perhaps that's just what they do here. I would only return here if I stayed in Oceanside or Netarts again. The service is shoddy and looking even remotely different will not help your cause here. Just look as white and boring as possible. After a while it actually seemed like we were being ignored on purpose. We walked out. We stopped here for lunch on a recommendation from a friend. We were very disappointed in our choice. While the view is great as many have said, the seating area seems to not have been updated in many years. And it doesn't have the quaint feeling of age, it's more the disorganized feeling of a patchwork of things being added over the years. I feel like the quality versus price issue of eating at the coast was in full display here. The boys had items off the kids menu. My son, who loves grilled cheese, barely ate half of his uninspired sandwich. The other son decided to go for the more expensive chicken strips/tenders/chunks. What came out were overly breaded cubes of chicken meat, looking nothing like the photo that is on this page. I don't know if the restaurant also uses the chicken for salads or something, but it really seemed like my son's portion was just leftover bits from a parmesan entree. My wife and I shared (because of the cost) a crab dish that seemed to have a lot more bay shrimp than crab in it. It was so not memorable, I couldn't even tell you if it was supposed to be a salad or cakes. Unfortunately I think that Roseanna's has fallen victim to the trap of a captured audience. There aren't many choices in Oceanside and they seem to have a reputation, so they are sitting back on their laurels and not giving people much for their money. Especially after going to the Schooner in Netarts and across the street to Brewin in the Wind, we will not be back to Roseanna's read more

I see this place hasn't been reviewed at all in 2010. Oops, sorry to have to start with a bad one, but that is what this site is for, the honest experience. They are one of three places to grab a bite to eat in town, the other directly across the street and is an inn as well and then the coffee shop at the corner where you can get a cinnamon bun or some gifts to take home along with your fresh coffee drink. We had eaten at this restaurant once before in 2007 and had breakfast, so we had thought, with a much more extensive menu to chose from. They don't open until 10am, and now only offer 5 breakfast items 4 of which are scrambles and the other sausage gravy and biscuits. Only $5.95 for the biscuit but $11.75 for the scramble. $12.95 if you want the one that has crab and shrimp in it. I went with the grilled cheese sandwich with green salad ( $8 ), they don't have a deep fat fryer so no french fries here. I asked for a side of bacon. The waitress came back to our table to inform us that my bacon was going to be $1.25 A SLICE! Not two pieces but a slice. This per piece burning is on the heels of us just recovering from earlier ordering mimosas. At that time the waitress came back and informed us that we had to purchase a split of champagne and a carafe of fresh squeezed orange juice and she would then "pour" the two together at our table to make a mimosa. The champagne was $12.95 and the OJ $2.95. The coffee was $1.25 a cup which was about 4oz, since she didn't fill it nearly to the top of the 6oz cup. The coffee tasted like dishwater. The Husband says it was commissary type of coffee. Our food arrives and it is a hearty portion, that is for sure. The Husband's shrimp and crab scramble was partially a left over. He wanted to substitute the muffin for an English muffin instead. Oh and he wanted to originally order something completely off the lunch menu but asked to have a fried egg put on top of it to make it a more breakfasty item, and the waitress came back and said all the eggs were already broken, meaning they use a ladle to make those scrambles. The shrimp in his scramble tasted really fishy too. Not so fresh, which is a shame being on the coast like that. The grilled cheese was made with Tillamook cheddar cheese on sourdough bread. It was really good, though the bread could have been a little more golden brown. The blue cheese dressing tasted home made and had some nice chunks of cheese in it. The croutons were the highlight of the entire meal, and that says something, doesn't it? They were homemade for sure and the herb seasoning and buttery flavor was perfectly balanced. I did notice about 10 dessert items on the board so it seemed like the cook had a hankering for making the sweets. I could see coming in just for dessert, the selections ranged from strawberry shortcake to triple chocolate mousse. Our total meal cost was over $50 bucks, for breakfast, that wasn't even that good. We ate someplace in a neighboring town the night before that gave us way more food and cocktails for less money. We should have gone there for breakfast instead, since they did serve it there. I read the reviews, but since this was the only restaurant open in Oceanside today, I gave it a shot with my daughter. The waitress was very friendly. She immediately connected with us and asked us how our day was at the beach. Of course she had an amazing personality--she's a midwife in training! We ordered the snapper with shallot cream sauce. Delicious. My 2 year old was outfitted with all the crayons a girl could hope for. We both loved the food. read more

Based on the recommendations from Yelp and in the guest book at the house we were renting in Netarts, my boyfriend and I went to Roseanna's for dinner on my birthday weekend. Everything was AMAZING!!! I had one of the specials - ling cod stuffed with smoked salmon, herbs, cream cheese, and more, and crusted with hazelnuts. It's probably the most delicious fish dish that I've ever had in my life. The sides with it were also perfect -- Jasmine rice and roasted squash. My boyfriend had the clam chowder (GREAT - seemed to have saffron) and the paella. He enjoyed the paella, but be warned -- it is spicy. The wine list is good and we had a nice bottle of Eyrie pinot noir. Desserts, well, there was just no room left for those, but they sure sounded good! This was the first place we ate when we moved to the coast. We live within walking distance and after 10 months we still haven't been compelled to return. The Marionberry Cobbler was delicious, albeit unfortunately topped with a sort of bisquick style dough. And it seems as though a place that boasts so much local food would not shame the beautiful oysters by halfheartedly frying them and cramming them in a Franz bun with old iceberg and hot house tomatoes.
