I was sent to a 2-week training in Burien and stumbled upon this place. It was so good I probably ate there 6 times during the 2 week training. Each time, I ordered a different plate and was blown away each time! In addition to the great food, the owner and the rest of the staff are incredible. The pho was really bland, and the meat they put on top was precooked/hard/dry. I'm use to my meat tasting tender and soft. The beef stew was really sweet, you can kind of tell they use pho broth but just adding the beef stew flavor. The beef was really tough as well. I thought this was just another Pho restaurant but I was wrong! I first came here when I was starting to get sick and so soup sounded really good. I wasn't sick enough that my taste buds weren't working yet so I still can remember how delicious the soup base was! I ordered extra meat and it hit the spot! If you aren't a hugger you probably want to avoid this place. While I can appreciate a great big hug, I think the owner may have over done it just a tad bit....she hugged me 3 times while I was arriving, eating, and leaving. All while saying something about "make more money and come back and see me". Yes. I do want to make more money and come back. BUT she said it several times and the first hug was great. We ordered two bowls of large - one was the special and the other one was with rare steak and meatballs. The broth was rather bland. Not much protein - meats - on either of the bowls. The service was good, very friendly. The menu was easy to read, so it was helpful, and there were pictures for the type of meat (flank, meatball, etc..) for the pho. But none of that is important, when a small bowl of pho is almost $8.00. And when they say small, they mean small. Most of the time when I go to a pho restaurant, a small bowl of pho is a pretty large portion, but here, not even close. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but for the price? Not so much. You're hungry. So I'll keep it real: * EXCELLENT service from the owner and host/waitress. * FRESH, BOLD, FLAVORFUL salads and entrees. * BUSY, but CLEAN dining area. * VERY HOSPITABLE. I've been here 5 times and ordered the Rose Special Salad with Garlic Beef and Chicken/Shrimp Salad. Also, I've had the Mango Shrimp Salad, Summer Rolls, Singapore Noodles, and Kalbi Beef. Trinh, the owner who served me, shared stories with me, and even showed me how to properly mix my fish sauce and pepper sauce. Lunchtime, like around 12p-1p, the dining room is always crackin'. The food is served promptly and is fresh and delicious. Dinner times are busy around 6p-8p. I look forward to contributing more pics from this restaurant! The service here is absolutely the sweetest!! I ordered a Bahn Mi and my boyfriend ordered a bowl of noodles. It was just what we needed on a cold day. Super yummy and flavorful. Their restaurant is small, only 2-3 tables were open because of COVID. I only put 4 stars though because the Bahn Mi's bread was a bit hard but I can tolerate it. Would come back again! read more

Whenever we go to Rose's, we are greeted warmly at the door. The owner gives my son a hug and tells us we need to have another one...great customer service. The food is nice Vietnamese. Great place if you are craving pho or if you're touring Seattle! The interior is clean and pretty. Small place but very live. They are incredibly religious in this environment so those who are not religious or stand strong for their own religion, be sure to keep this in mind. For me, I was a little weirded out and that's why I cannot give them 5 stars. It made me uncomfortable reading the quotes on the wall and the owner gave us blessings right when we walked in and when we left. She also gave us hugs and really catered to us. She almost babied our party as we were eating. It was pretty overwhelming. The food was really up to parr with heir authentic flavors and sizes. I had the Pho Dac Biet in a large and I really enjoyed the broth. Though, they didn't add half the meats that's usually in this dish. I had to go on and dig for it but missed out on a lot. My son just graduated high school and for his graduation celebration he really wanted to eat Pho. We chose Rose Pho by searching google and they have pretty good reviews. Upon arrival I noticed the health department rating was "good" not excellent. I worked in food service for years and know first hand that you can get marked down quite a bit and still get an excellent so I'm not sure how I feel about a good. But gave it a try anyway, we already went out of our way to come to Normandy Park so might as well stay. When we first entered we were greeted by a lady who asked if she could bring us beverages, she seemed very nice and friendly enough. The girl who took our order was very sweet and helpful. I can't say anything negative about the service itself. Our food arrived and my son's pho was among the first of the food to come out and as he was mixing in the sauce and veggies, he pulled out a long black hair out of the soup with his spoon. Uhhh... gross. He's got shorter blonde hair so obviously it isn't his. We told the girl who brought out the food and she was quite apologetic and brought out a new bowl. Everything seemed just great until I got down to the bottom of the teriyaki chicken and found MORE of the same long black hair on some of the chicken. By this time we were already full and not eating anymore so I paid the tab and left it at that. The service itself was good (that's where the 3 stars came from) but as far as the "good" on the health department rating, I think I understand why. We won't be returning. read more

Great place for pho in the Des Moines/SeaTac area! I haven't had any of their other dishes so this review is based solely on their pho. My main criteria for pho places (besides good broth) is that they separate the broth, meat, and fixings when you get takeout. Some places throw it all together in advance and then the meat is overcooked and you can't control your add-ins. This place packs it up separately with generous quantities so you can craft your perfect bowl once you're home -- and the broth is always HOT which is crucial. The broth is really strong and delicious. I find it just a touch on the salty side, but not so much that it's overpowering. The owner is VERY friendly and will come up and give you a hug and say "God bless you" when you come in. I'm not a fan of unsolicited hugs from strangers and don't think this is appropriate, but she is super sweet so it doesn't bother me as much as it might otherwise. read more

Completely different experience than my previous review 5 years ago. No friendly welcome, the server seemed disinterested and more like - ho hum what do you want. What saved the day for me was the owner delivering my Pho and saying a very nice prayer wishing me and my family well. She did this at each table, a very nice gesture.
