Charles has been replacing glass in the Tuscany subdivision of Redmond/Woodinville where we live since its inception 40 years ago! At first, we got a quote from a high-pressure salesman to replace ALL the windows in our house, not just the glass. The total came to $120,000! But then we had Charles come and give us an estimate, and the total was a tenth of the cost: $12,000! Charles told us that not all of the glass needed to be replaced: he could tell by looking at the dates in the corners of the panes which ones had been replaced previously and when and could also tell by looking at the glass which ones had failed seals. So, instead of replacing the panes AND frames of around 40 windows (the total number in our house), he ended up replacing just the glass in about 20-25 windows. What's even better is that we got to keep the beautiful wooden frames that are original to the house, instead of paying $120,000 for ugly, cheap VINYL FRAMES! Plus, the original high-pressure salesman didn't know our area and the homeowners covenants as well as Charles did and recommended we not use gridded windows, as it would add to the cost. However, we love the look of the gridded windows, AND we found out that it is required by the neighborhood covenants - something that Charles already knew! Not only did we save a lot of money by going with Rose Hill Glass, we will save on our energy bill this winter by having new, insulated glass, we love the look of the original wood, AND Charles fixed the mechanisms on three of our window casements that were not working properly and completely replaced another that was broken! Beware of big window companies that want to replace ALL of your window panes AND frames, when you can save a lot of money and get a much higher quality product by going with Rose Hill Glass. We're so glad we did. Please note that Charles works alone and is highly sought-after, so you may have to wait, but the wait will be well worth it! From the time we got the estimate until the time Charles was available to do the work was four months, but he came exactly when promised and completed the work within the promised time, a rarity these days, as we all know. I can't say enough good things about Rose Hill Glass. If you were thinking about getting the glass in your windows replaced, do it in the next three years, before Charles retires! read more
