Went to enjoy breakfast with a friend. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes and a London fog tea hot. The pancakes were soft fluffy moist with just the right amount of butter. The tea was an interesting creation as it was made with milk vice water. Which I have no issues with. However, I am used to introducing the milk later as a form of cream. Regardless, the London fog was good as a late morning jump start. The staff were pleasant patient and helpful in determining what I should order. The atmosphere was really cool calm relaxed there was no music just a lot of mid level conversations. We went for their new dinner service. We have regularly been going since they opened for breakfast or to pick up their pastries. The experience did not disappoint. The elevated dinner experience was top notice. The service was excellent. We started with the crispy artichokes. They were not only beautiful but they were delicious. For dinner my wife had the halibut which was light and delicious. I had the crispy chicken which lived up to its named with excellent flavors. Rose Cafe was iconic. So freaking cute. So delicious. I loved everything about this place! First of all, you walk in and it's so pretty! There's a stunning wall of roses to the right, the main counter is full of pink items and accessories, and the shelves to the left are tall and full of cute, pink items for sale. I wanted one of everything. Then we get to ordering food and coffee. The menu seems small but there are so many adventurous and delicious items! My friend and I ordered 2 entrees each so that we could try more things and take food home for later. I even got the most scrumptious smoothie that was so refreshing! The service was really great too. I waited for my friend who was running late before I ordered and the girl working was really patient and didn't rush me to order. The food was horrible and bland. I ordered the quiche and it was hard and rubbery. The crust was burnt. I ended up saying something before leaving. I wasn't looking for a refund, but I wanted to inform the chef, so she could fix it. Service was ehh...not friendly at all. I paid with a $100 bill and gave a $5 tip for not good service and the funny thing is she gave me the wrong change. She missed counted a $20 bill (my bad for not looking at my change), so a $25 tip for not friendly service and a horrible lunch. I won't be back. She got the egg sandwich I believe and I had gotten the weekly quiche special, which was with cheese, corn, and broccoli. We ended up also splitting the ube waffles and those were so delicious. I grew up eating ube desserts and definitely recommend you try their waffles! It's a subtle ube, which I enjoy because sometimes ube flavors can come off as artificial tasting. We went to Rose Cafe before we headed to Oceanside Beach in California. The service was amazing. I really appreciated the enthusiasm of the staff. They gave my kids activities to do without even being asked. They were also very well versed of the menu. The food was delicious; they bake their own bread which was really fresh! My kids loved their smoothie though they did say it didn't as flavorful as it looked. The decoration inside was so adorable and clean. Food is a 5, but service is a 2. Positive: the foods we tried were incredible. Negative: Service was inconsistent. When she brought us our food, I asked her if they had any dipping sauces and she told me they have a garlic aioli I could try. Shortly after, the male customer seated next to me asked her the same thing, and she happily said "we have a few fun ones. We've got a sriracha aioli and garlic aioli". She then brought him both sauces. Both my husband and I recognized that and wondered why she didn't offer the same to me... and it left me feeling like I was mistreated. I wonder if she's kinder to men, or did we not tip to her standards? The prices for some options are definitely overpriced, such as $22 for waffles, which we genuinely wouldn't mind since it's delicious.. but given the seemingly purposeful inconsistent lack of service, I'm not sure we'll be adding this business to our rotation of brunch locations. read more

My friend had been wanting to try this place so we made our way over for coffee and breakfast. I was excited to give it a try after she'd mentioned it had a ton of 5-star reviews, but after our experience here I'm underwhelmed to say the least, sticking with a 3-star review. I think of aesthetic/presentation, service, cleanliness and tastebuds when I give a rating: - Aesthetic: Shop location wasn't quite what I was expecting from the outside but walking in revealed a cute, pink and floral decor. It felt a bit flimsy rather than true elegance but the attention to atmosphere was definitely there. Food and latte presentation was awesome. - Service: The gal at the register was kind. I made my pick finally but was then told they were out. I became very aware of the line forming behind me and stepped away not wanting to hold things up. - Cleanliness: They were slow to bus / wipe down tables. We had one next to us that took our whole time there to get cleaned. - Tastebuds: probably the most disappointing of all that drove the 3-star. I ordered a gluten free avocado toast and the bread was so thick and bland (with the texture of corn bread) that it was impossible to enjoy. The coffee was good, not great. However, from the outside, it's a non descript plaza business which does little to set the vibe and expectations for its remarkable food and cute cozy ambiance. So this is my 4th or 5th times here since Rose Cafe opened, and it's a permanent keeper for me. I absolutely love how humble the staff is but also Chef and owner Katie. I am slowly learning their closing hours, but at end, my eldest and I were grateful to learn how the Rose Cafe came to be. We came in on Father's Day and saw other nearby places where the lines were out the door. We found a table immediately and were allowed time to wait for the rest of our group of 5 to arrive. Order at the counter and they will bring the food to you. I ordered my regular americano and was so very happy! Smooth and hot! The food was delivered straight from the kitchen and piping hot - breakfast sandwiches, pancakes, tater tots, and açaí bowl (not hot!). Everything was delicious and served with a smile. What a yummy new cafe in Oceanside! We came as a group of 5 and ordered just about everything on the menu. The restaurant is a bit small, but we managed to fit between a few tables. They have free spa like water which we drank. The food arrived within about 10 minutes and everything was plated beautifully The food was all delicious and refreshing. Would definitely come back again! Parking is super easy, there is a lot in front of the restaurant however I imagine when it gets busy, it'll get very busy! read more

Cafe Rose has been here for almost a month now, and I have to say I am so glad they're here!! Most items are made in-house: from their pastries down to the raspberry creme that comes with the ube waffles. EATS. * Ube waffles. So good! It's one big waffle cut up into 4 pieces. Also served with some strawberries and blueberries. The raspberry curd that compliments it is devine! * Broccolini and cheddar egg sando. The bread is on point! So good, fresh and goes so well with the rest of the ingredients! Love that they used broccolini. This is the perfect sandwich (and I am not a sandwich person). * Tater tots. They're kind of salty. We had two orders and ended up throwing them out. * Açaí bowl ($13). They make this fresh, but I thought it had too much apple juice. The texture and consistency came out nice, but was quickly watered down in 5 minutes which made it hard to eat. It was sweeter than most that I've had, but I loved how much fruit they put in it! * Kids breakfast ($8). Not posted on the menu, so you'll have to ask about this one. 2 eggs (how you like it, we got it scrambled), toast or tots, and a few strips of bacon. Our scrambled eggs were less than desirable. I'm not sure if milk was added or if they were from a carton, but this was our least favorite item so far. They brought out the croque madame for another customer, and he inhaled it! He then came back and asked what he ordered again because it was so good. This just gave me another excuse to come back and try it! COFFEE. * Beans are from Cafe Calabria for you coffee lovers out there! * mocha was perfect * cortado was perfect, too! The portion size is so generous with their dishes, and the attention to detail is thought out in each dish. The plate for the ube waffles, the plate for the sandwich make them both photo worthy. Went on a Saturday morning, wasn't too busy so it was nice and not that long of a wait, maybe 10-15mins total from order to pick up. I only went for lattes, did not know it was a dine in restaurant, I shall come back and try their food. But for this visit, I got an iced mocha latte and an iced matcha latte. The mocha was a 4/5. The only problem was they put chocolate syrup around the cup that froze due to the ice so you can't really mix it into the drink, overall the taste was good. The matcha latte is also a 4/5, it comes unsweetened so I asked for it to be sweetened with vanilla syrup and it still tasted unsweetened to me. It tasted like it had a small hint of vanilla but once I put some sugar in my matcha, it tasted a lot better. The aesthetic of the cafe is very pink and cute. I like how they have couches with the tables and many photo opportunities. I would love to come back and try out their food. read more

Twice in one week, i couldn't stay away once i discovered this new local cafe in South Oceanside. The owner, Katie, is an amazing local chef who launched this first venture on her own. She's classically trained, and her impeccable attention to detail shows in every dish we tried (special quiche, baked goods, and ahi tuna/avocado toast, plus coffees). I'm telling all my neighbors about this hidden gem, so it can come out of hiding. The location has killed the restaurants before it, so I'm hoping that the exterior can somehow be spruced up a bit to show off the GORGEOUS interior. So welcoming and comfortable. The Rose Cafe is so cute! It's the perfect spot for brunch with the girls, and I'm obsessed with the decor--everything is pink, right down to the straws. I've visited twice and tried the food, too. The coffee is amazing, perfectly balanced and not too sweet, just how I like it. I brought my best friend here, and she must have said "this is so cute" like 80 times--because it truly is! The service is wonderful, the staff is super friendly, and the place is always spotless. While the pricing is comparable to other spots in the area, I do think it's a bit on the higher side, especially for the coffee, as they charge extra for alternative milks and sweeteners. But honestly, I'm a firm believer in the "if you can't afford it, don't go" mentality. For me, the coffee is definitely worth the splurge! The food is delicious, and I've never been disappointed--nor have the friends I've brought along. Everything is incredibly fresh, and the seating is super cozy. Met friends for breakfast recently. Three of us had the Dirty Breakfast Tots, very good and a big portion! One friend ordered beignets for the table, unfortunately they weren't fully cooked. They apologized but since there were no more they offered to refund or provide something else from their pastry case. Perfect, she chose some pastries.
