My husband booked Cal-Movers, so I can't speak to that process, but he mentioned that Robert was very clear about what services he would provide and reassuring about caring for our furniture and possessions. On the day of, Robert called on the way to let us know they were almost there, early I might add. He had brought an extra worker to make sure we were moved quickly and they got to work right away. They brought a large covered pickup truck with a 22' trailer. I just mention this in case you are expecting a full truck. In any case, it was quite large and they were very efficient in fitting everything in. Robert was very nice, asked a lot of questions about what to take and what to leave, gave his team a lot of clear instructions and when he saw something not being done right he corrected it right away. I never felt that his team was being careless. They wrapped all the furniture in blankets and plastic and wore covers on their feet to protect the flooring in our new home. A lot of other moving companies have made me feel guilty for not being fully packed, or for having too much stuff (really?), but Robert was very nice and conscious of the concerns you have on moving day. Highly recommended for the price -- it seems he moves anywhere within the bay area, not just Mountain View - South Bay, San Francisco, Napa, East Bay, North Bay, etc. read more

When we move, we use PODS. So, when we arrived in San Jose, we found Rosado Movers on yelp, asked them to unload our containers, and we LOVED the service! When we moved away from San Jose, sure enough, we called them again, and we were very very pleased once again. Four huge Samoan guys showed up (Maia, Paya, Foaki, and Pita). They moved our heavy furniture quickly and carefully. They arrived when they said they would, and they finished a little early. No fuss, no hassles! The owners of Rosado Movers pride themselves on their customer service, and they make themselves very available. Moving is a pain, but Rosado Movers will cut your stress level in half! :) Thank you, guys! read more

We used them for our move 5 years ago, and went back to them for our most recent move last week. They are still as good! We got packing and moving services. Three ladies packed our 3bed/2bath house in under 5 hours from start to finish. Saved us a lot of stress! Moving crew was also very thorough and careful. They are not inexpensive, but I think it totally worth the ease and peace of mind. read more

Rosado movers were fantastic! The moving team showed up on time, acted in a professional and friendly manner, very carefully moved my belongings, worked quickly, and far exceeded my expectations. Robert came to my home in advance of my move to take an inventory of my belongings in order to provide a more accurate quote. The final price was very competitive and fair. Robert also arrived with the moving team to ensure everything was in order, and followed up with me after to move to confirm my satisfaction. The moving team included Maviano, Foek, Herman and one other guy whose name I forgot. Thanks guys! read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Cal-Movers! They fit us in on a busy holiday weekend (with not too much advanced notice). They arrived right on time. They were super nice and courteous. Robert and his team made sure to take really good care of all of our stuff. They handled everything as if it was their own! Robert would even use his i-phone to take pictures of any preexisting damage. I felt that everything was very safe in their hands. This experience reminded me what a difference it makes to work with a family owned business, you get that extra touch that you just don't get from the big companies. read more

Loved them -- we had the packers on 6/6 and movers on 6/7. This was our first time with professional movers and we are now converted from the U-Haul method! Yes, it's undeniably painful to pay for movers if you've always slogged through it on your own, but the reduction in stress made it the best money we've spent in a while. Timewise the packing came in right at the estimate and Anna, Michelle and Maria worked fast and steadily all day. We had A LOT of stuff. Movers showed up early, worked silently, efficiently and quickly. We were shocked at how fast everything came out of the house. Once at the new place they got everything inside just as quickly, cleaned up after themselves and left. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. read more

Called for a quote, negotiated a fair rate, 1 hour later truck pulls up and takes the junk away. Done & done.

I needed a bunch of useless office furniture hauled away. Due to parking issues around the building there was a tight window to get it done. They sent four guys to be sure everything was completed in that time frame. The guys showed up exactly on time and knocked out the project in one hour. I was completely satisfied with their promptness and ability to get the job completed quickly. read more

This is how moving should be--very easy and straightforward. They charge $75/hour, all-in. Unlike other movers, they don't charge additional hidden fees such as fuel surcharges, double drive time, packing material charges, etc. I really liked that. Robert and team did a great job, and he even brought his 70 year old grandmother to help! I did have to call a couple of times to schedule the move and wasn't aware they rounded up partial hours, but overall I thought it was a fair price for the move. They were also very careful with my things and didn't break anything (first time that has happened in six moves for me!). read more

Those guys are awesome! I had a relatively short notice to move out of my place and decided to give Cal Movers a call based on reviews I read on this board. I'm very glad I did. Robert was very easy to talk to and was able to accommodate a slot for me on their way back down from a job in the city. On the day of move, he kept me completely in the loop of their whereabouts. They worked very fast and pretty much non-stop for the next 4 hours on an unusually warm Friday afternoon. Guys are pros and knew what they were doing. What also impressed me was that Robert was able to multitask extremely well .. that gave him a huge advantage juggling various jobs effectively(he has a good sized crew). Did I say he quoted me a very fair rate?! read more

Very nice folks! Service was fast and friendly. The team arrived with plenty of equipment and things to cover the delicates. Big thanks to Rob & his team for being nice and professional and at a great price. Will call again! read more

I used Rosado Movers for packing and moving a 4 bedroom house. The packing happened on one day and the moving took place the next. Both days they arrived on time and ready to work. The entire crew was very nice and Tony was great to work with. Their price was a little higher than other quotes I received but I felt like they were also more professional which is one of the reasons I went with them. The final price was within the quoted range, no last minute fees or anything like that. Overall they did a great job and I have no problem recommending them to others. read more

Rosado Movers helped us to relocate a 1-bed apartment from Mountain View to San Francisco, and were absolutely delighted with the service. We received a quote and signed a contract online within a couple of weeks of our move date. Chris, Anthony and team were punctual, courteous, professional and super-fast to load/unload our the day. No damage or drama. They were actually faster than originally quoted. Highly recommended! read more

Absolutely wonderful! They actually make moving pleasant! We have recently realized that between my husband and myself we have moved 6 times in the past 6 years and these guys were the best we have ever worked with! Their estimates were MUCH lower than some of the larger firms in Silicon Valley and they are able to do this because they are family owned and operated. That said, they are more professional than all of the "big" firms that I have worked with, nationwide. However, at the end of the day they still treat you like family and your belongings with as much care as they would their own. Every stem of every wine glass was perfectly and individually wrapped. The packers were beyond amazing! The movers were just as wonderful and professional. They were in and out quickly and smoothly. The attention to detail on behalf of the entire crew was incredible. I mentioned to Robert (the owner) that my husband cared greatly for his TV and without me saying anything he looked at his guys and said, "that one travels with me- in my truck." I didn't ask for that kind of catering, he just offered it. Amazing! When the guys had finished loading the boxes and furniture into our new home, our kids were exhausted. I was working on unpacking the kitchen, my husband was helping the guys with furniture. I was BEYOND thrilled when I came upstairs and walked into TWO perfectly organized and adorable children's bedrooms. The packers had not just unpacked everything in the children's rooms, but really took the time to make it perfect. I have never seen anything like this from a moving company. Normally it takes me months of sorting and days of walking carefully around objects and countertops littered with "stuff" but in this move the house was almost perfect within 48 hours. The unpacking was well worth every penny. We had friends offer to bring us dinner the following night and they walked in and said, "wow, we brought you dinner thinking you'd be surrounded by boxes and chaos and your house is more organized than OURS!" An additional service that they offered us was their willingness to take things to Goodwill or dispose of them if necessary. We had tons of things for donation that couldn't fit in our new home and tons of things that were just junk and needed to be dealt with- they took care of all of it for us! No stress, no worries! A month or two later, my sister-in-law moved in San Francisco and she needed a crew that could handle- tricky city parking, LOTS of antiques that were priceless family heirlooms, MANY stairs and move in a time table that could change quickly (and it did). They gave her a great estimate, were more than generous in trying to help whether they were given the job or not. They were flexible when she needed to change her moving date, packed her up and moved her in without a glitch. Later, she had some rugs removed from her home in Pacific Heights, SF and needed someone with a truck to bring them down from her place to our house in Los Altos Hills. I emailed Brianne and she immediately said they would be happy to help! Two days later our rugs were in place and everyone had moved happily. Wonderful! We will never work with anybody else! read more

Best. Movers. Ever. We were very impressed with the entire process from the time we received our estimate from Carlos to the last piece of furniture delivered and reassembled at our new home. They are more expensive than most movers, but you get what you pay for. It was worth it. We were lucky to have the crew of Sione, Anthony, and Junior. They arrived on time. They were very courteous, professional, and friendly. After I showed them everything that needed to get moved, they got right down to business. They divided and conquered to get the job done as efficiently as possible which is how it should be done. Anthony and Junior started with the big items that needed to get disassembled and moved. Sione was in another part of our house wrapping items that did not need disassembling. They were so careful with every piece of furniture. Everything was loaded with care onto their truck. They gave us wardrobe boxes to use which was so helpful. Our move was unique in that we were not moving the entire house. Some items were staying. The guys were very attentive and patient as we directed them to move certain items to different locations. They packed everything up in under 3 hours. Once they left to go to our new house, I realized that I had forgotten one item - our dog house. I quickly called the number that I had for the company and Robert answered. I explained to him about the item and he quickly called one of the movers, Anthony to see if they could come back. Unfortunately, the truck was packed completely and there would be no room to put the dog house in. It is a big and heavy house. We would have to wait until the truck is unloaded and they have to make another trip to pick it up. Robert decided that he would come with his truck to pick it up for us and deliver it. I was not expecting that. Now that is customer service! He came alone and managed to move that heavy thing onto his truck. He delivered it to our new house and also checked on the guys to make sure the move was going smoothly. At the new house, the guys laid down a paper runner so that they did not get our floors dirty. They also wore booties to keep dirt off. They moved everything in and reassembled all of the furniture quickly. We didn't see any damages or scratches on anything. They did an awesome job. We will be moving again in 4 months and we'll definitely call Rosado Movers again. Thanks guys! read more

Simply put...AMAZING. I have used them one other time for hauling away a bunch of stuff after a major clean-out of my moms house/garage. That's what I used them for this time. I called Robert the owner on Sunday and he offered to come out and get it done the same day. I made the appt for Monday instead. His crew showed up and they were courteous and worked hard. Robert showed up and asked if I was happy with the crew and the work etc. He remembered working with me before and he wanted to make sure I was happy with the job. I am EXTREMEMLY pleased and so happy that they got the job done quickly and they did an amazing job of even getting the little pieces of garbage that had accumulated. And the price that i was quoted was beyond fair considering the amount of stuff that had to be hauled away as well as the clean-up. I would recommend them to anyone and I will definitely be using Robert and his company again read more

We need move a piano within the town. After we got some quotes from several movers, we decided to give a try with Rosado Movers. The owner, Robert, responded to my questions quite well. The Moving time was in the afternoon. There was a lot of traffic, but the movers managed to arrive earlier than we thought. In the beginning, there were only two movers, Pita and Siale. They were able to move the piano out of the house pretty easy. When they get to the destination, which is a town house with stairs, the owner showed up with Antonio, and four of them moved the piano upstairs. Robert obviously is very experienced with moving pianos, and the team worked together very well. It was a good moving experience, and at a very reasonable price. read more

I loved my experience with Rosado Movers. They were friendly and kind. They wouldn't let me lift and finger and they were respectful of my belongings. I also really appreciated how quick they worked! Special thanks to Joel, Chris, Mo, Guru, David, Anthony, Maya, and Luis. I would recommend these guys 10 time out of 10! read more

Needed movers on the same day on such short notice and was able to speak with Robert, the owner. Among all the local movers I've called, he was the only one who gave me a rate based on the packages to be moved, instead of a minimum 3 hour rate regardless of what the packages were. Very efficient and easy to talk to. read more

Robert is friendly, responsive and great to work with. Him and his crew were fast, efficient and understood my needs. I felt very comfortable working with them. They realize that moving may pose some unknowns and were willing to find a reasonable and fair solution to any issues. They made it a stress free and successful move. Loading and unloading was very easy and fast due to their low-height trailer with ramp - as opposed to a large truck with high bed and mechanical lift. However, I cannot give Cal-Movers 5 stars because Robert promised a 30 ft trailer, but got along a smaller - 24 ft - trailer. This may have resulted in multiple trips for my move. However he managed to fit everything and get the move completed in one trip. I strongly recommend Cal-Movers. I will call Robert again in case I need help moving. read more

Great experience with these guys, will use them again. Given the timing (last-minute) of our move and their availability, they came and packed one afternoon and then did the moving itself the next morning. The packing team was fast, courteous, and they brought a ZILLION brand new boxes (no crunched up used garbage like other movers I've worked with in the past)... tons of tape, packing paper, ... and they brought a big team to handle it all. The next morning they showed up on schedule and with a big 26' truck, plus a mountain of moving pads/blankets. Everyone worked fast, they were courteous, they pointed out every last little existing scuff on the furniture (before they moved it), and they worked hard. Good crew, reasonable pricing, willingness to squeeze you in at the last minute, and overall a good experience. I'll use them again. read more

Very professional. Robert met us at the start of the move and set us up with a crew of three young guys. I was impressed at their hustle and professionalism. They kept moving all the time and were great about helping each other work quickly. We had a few items that were tough to fit in the house. I told them to give up and leave my desk in the kitchen, but they stuck with it and got everything in place. Great work! read more

Robert and his team are fantastic. They do great work and stand by their service if anything doesn't go exactly to plan. They're pricier but worth every single penny. read more

I hired Cal Movers to move me from Palo Alto to SF and they were awesome! They squeezed me in on a super busy weekend, and worked fast and carefully. They had all my stuff loaded in about 30 minutes, and unloaded it in about 30 minutes as well. They took the time to wrap up my dresser and nightstand in blankets and shrinkwrap so that they wouldn't get damaged. Robert and his team are polite, efficient, and nice. I would definitely recommend them! At about $75/hour, I don't know what else I could have asked for! read more

I was referred to Cal-Movers through a friend who had a very good experience with them. I moved from San Francisco to Berkeley last month and I could not have been more pleased with the owner's (Robert Rosado) moving services. He and his two associates were polite, efficient, careful, communicative and professional. His rates are very reasonable and competitive. I also found out that Robert offers his moving services throughout the entire Bay Area, which is useful to know, as I plan to refer him to friends and family in the future. read more

Robert was recommended to me by Justin at Seaport Storage in Redwood City. Robert arrived to give me an estimate on Monday to move a restaurant full of equipment that had to be out by Wednesday. Big stuff, refrigerators, etc. He gave me a fair estimate and said he could move it on Wednesday. Robert and his crew arrived at 8:00 a.m., as he had said they would and he and his crew finished at 8:00 that evening. Robert was there to make certain his crew moved every item with care. Each item was wrapped and protected and carefully moved. He also estimated the storage space and had it down to the last inch. Hi praise for Robert and his crew. A business that does what they say they will do! I highly recommend them. Bob M read more

I can not say enough good things about CAL Movers. Robert and his team were fantastic. We have moved 8 times in the past 6 years so we've had our fair share of working with moving companies and this was the best experience, by far. They were able to get us on their calendar on only a week's notice. They showed up right on time with all the tools necessary to complete the job. Robert was so friendly and kind, not only to us and our children, but to his own workers. I've never seen a boss treat his employees so well. He was so sweet with our kids too, always answering their questions. By the end of the move he really felt more like a good friend than someone we hadn't met before today. They worked quickly and efficiently, handled everything with care and packed it so it would be safe. When I had to take our only car to run an errand they even offered to give my husband a ride with them over to the new place. Such a relief to not have to worry about racing back to pick him up. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be calling on them again if we ever need moving services. With Robert and his company you know he will be honest, upfront, and really do a great job. I will be recommending this company to all of my friends! read more

We just used this moving company for our local San Jose move, which included a piano and a king size bed with futon (very heavy and unwieldy) mattress. The crew (Anthony, Lalo, Joaquin, Joseph) was very professional and did a great job. Also very competitive prices (I called around). I would recommend them to friends. read more

We used Rosado Movers to help us unload our 2 bedroom Palo Alto apartment into a U-haul truck so we could drive it back to Idaho. We had a team of 4 movers - 3 of them worked very hard and quickly (the 4th guy, a younger gentleman, served as more of an assistant). We were impressed! Especially that they were able to get everything to fit in our small U-haul. Very nice family and team. We paid $185/hour (took 4.5 hours) and paid a $140 flat fee for shrink wrap (for larger furniture items). We had already boxed up most of our apartment. We also took advantage of a Yelp voucher - $30 for $75 discount. We would definitely recommend these guys! I believe the names of our crew were (excuse spelling!): Freddy, Lekky, Piea, and Siale. read more

Robert and his movers moved me and my roomate on 2 consecutive days Pros - they came on time - didn't break anything Cons - they were slow (especially moving my roommate ) - they lost my appt the first time I made it - I had confirmed with Robert that it was a 2hr min (3rd free on weekdays) prior to the move... But the day before he calls me and says it's a 3 hr minimum and that his web site was inaccurately updated by his employee. But I later saw that the flyers he was putting up also had 2hr minimum. He did honor the original quote though it caused me some stress the day before the move read more

I just used Rosado Movers again (my 4th move with them -- I know, I know: I have moved a lot!). They have been consistently great to work with over the years! We had them move us last year 10/13/13 with Chema, Anthony, and Omar. They did a very professional job and wrapped all of our furniture to ensure no damage. We moved from Mountain view to Los Altos Hills from an 800sqft apt to another 800 sqft apt. We thought it would take 3 hours total as we didn't have a ton of things but it took 3.5. No biggie.. we'll still give them 5 stars as they were on time and we had no issues. read more

Coordinating with Brianna & Robert and getting the crew (Leki, Pita, Foeki, & Xmas) -- Great service from beginning to end! I've done a lot of moves, even did one last year with another local company and so far, Rosado's has been my best moving experience. read more

We had CAL Movers help us get the contents of my 1br from the south bay to the east bay. I used Rosado movers in August of 2014 to move into a second floor two bedroom apartment in Mountain View. They were late in arriving due to other moves running late, but to make up for it, they brought about 10 guys and were able to get everything done in about 30 minutes. On top of it, to make up for the delay, I was given a discount on the cost of the move. Everything had to be carried from about 1/4 mile away, where the shipping company had to leave the moving container, to the apartment. It was the best money I ever spent. Awesome Experience!! This was the 14th time I had to move since 1993 and BY FAR the best experience. The team of 4 movers were very professional, efficient, courteous and took care of all my belongings as if it was their own. They laid down blankets to protect the carpet and packed my long glass-top dinning table really well (the most fragile item I own and care most about). Nothing broke and everything was put in each room where it was supposed to go in the place I moved into. The head of the team did a walk around with me before they left and made sure that everything was done to my liking. I was very impressed! Robert and his team has helped me with two moves in the past year. The first move was local and he did a great job. He brought 3 other people with him and they were very fast. Plus I found that his rate was better than all the others I called :) The second move was for my mom moving from Palo Alto to San Diego. She originally had chosen different movers which was a BIG MISTAKE. She called Robert and with one day notice, he agreed to move her. He made arrangements to get a trailer and he had his family help him move my mom. He was a great savior!! Again, he and his team arrived on time and were very quick / efficient. He did a great job with this move as well. Robert is very professional and friendly and does a great job with the moves!! Mr. Robert Rosado and his staff provided excellent service regarding moving a small but very heavy metal lathe I had on the premises to my storage area. They arrived on time as promised, within 30 minutes of speaking with me, and efficiently removed my unit from its palette and placed it on its holding pedestal. His staff was cordial, considerate and took great care in handling the unit which was close to 350lbs. They were very professional in their behavior towards me and I would not blink in calling them in the future to handle other moving tasks. Mr. Rosado was personally involved in making sure that the job went smoothly without a hitch. Kudos for a job well done! read more

These guys are the best you can get. They called the day before the move to coordinate the exact time. Then on the day of the move, they arrived just a few minutes early and started working right away. They were literally done loading all of our things (family of 3) within 45 minutes (and they even took of all of our clothes on hangers and put them in boxes with rods to keep them hanged). When we got to our new place, they divided the work between "outside" and "inside" crews. The inside crew put on shoe protectors in order to protect our new carpet. They placed all of our things in the appropriate rooms and hanged all of our clothes in our new closets. Fast. Courteous. Nothing broken. Attention to detail. Highly recommend them. read more
