    Top shelf margarita
    April S.

First time at roosters in Newark. Staff was very friendly . Typical looking roosters joint. Our waitress was nice. The top shelf margaritas were great. My friend ordered the fried shrimp with garlic sauce on them and they were AMAZING! Why have I never tried this at roosters before ?! I typically ordered my usual- dumpster fries and boneless wings. My friend had never had dumpster fries before and enjoyed them. When I order my wings I order sauce on the side and usually order atleast 3 sauces (I like to dip in pieces). This allows me to taste more than one sauce...one sauce is so boring! This also allows for perfect reheating of leftovers in the oven in which they won't be soggy.

On Chodeats everyone was talking about how good Roosters was...so the wife and I went and the decor, the waitresses and the ambiance of Texas roadhouse is one in the same. Both are loud and confusing to try and have a conversation with the person across from you. The food was all the same, fried, fried, fried oh and fried, all in the same grease and all purchased from the same gfs more than likely. If not gfs some food resource. I got 10 mild Buffalo wings and 10 Korean BBQ. The Korean BBQ was good but a little too sweet in the end. The Buffalo wings are to a neighbor, or the stray cats. Oh and the wife got 4 chicken tenders that were just strips, the first 4 she git were waaay past golden, and brown, and headed to black. The waitress got her some more and they were almost the same. Our bill was 37.00 and I had gotten 50 in gift cards for the fuel points, and the waitress that showed she wanted a 15 to 20 percent tip got a 13.00 tip just because we won't be going back.

If you're looking for a spot that consistently hits the mark on both flavor and atmosphere,…read moreElliot's Wood Fired Kitchen & Tap is a must-visit. Whether it's a mid-week dinner or a weekend hangout, they managed to nail the "elevated neighborhood gem" vibe perfectly. The Food The star of the show is undoubtedly the wood-fired pizza. You can taste the authenticity in the crust--perfectly charred with that signature smoky finish you can only get from a real wood oven. The toppings are fresh, and the balance of flavors shows they aren't just making pizza; they're perfecting it. On the lighter (but equally delicious) side, the fish tacos are a standout. It's rare to find a wood-fired joint that treats seafood with this much respect. The fish is always flaky and fresh, complemented by bright, crisp toppings that make for a perfect contrast to the rich, smoky pizzas. The Service What truly sets Elliot's apart, though, is the bar staff. The service here is consistently top-notch. The team is incredibly knowledgeable--whether you're looking for a specific craft beer pairing or a recommendation from their cocktail list, they know the menu inside and out. It's the kind of place where the staff makes you feel like a regular from your very first visit. Final Verdict: Excellent food, a great tap list, and a team that actually knows their stuff. Elliot's is easily a 5-star experience.

The food came out fast, which was great. The pizza was decent, and I ordered the meatball sub, which was good and satisfying. It's a nice spot overall, relaxed and easy for a casual dinner. Nothing stood out as a major downside on this visit--just a straightforward, pleasant meal with quick service and solid food.

Despite other reviews on this place, the staff were actually all friendly and attentive. When I walked in I could tell that this place is no more than a bar with dine-in seating surrounding it. I didn't really find the Birria tacos on their menu however when I inquired about them the waiter stated that they have them. I didn't have to wait long for my food however from the moment my plate arrived it was sheer disappointment. My plate arrived with 3 "Birria" tacos but there was not much about these that said "Birria". They were prepared on flour tortillas that were completely soft with no sign of the classic melted cheese on the tortilla, no limes, and no dipping broth. Of course I asked for limes and broth. The "broth" that was brought to my table appeared to be watered down taco grease and tasted as such! The tacos had a fair amount of meat, onions, and cilantro in the tortilla but these were a far cry from an authentic Birria taco. When I received my check I would discover a charge of $16.08 for a plate of Americanized tacos. Meat was dry and quite tasteless. If you're looking for a place that does not serve authentic Mexican food with higher than a giraffe's nuts pricing then this is your spot!!! I will not be a repeat customer.

This is one of our favorite places for the cozy family feel and great food, making it a great place to take the family when the kids are in town. The fajitas and flautas are two of our favorite dishes there. The vegetables in the fajitas are fresh , the flautist are crisp and never soggy or reheated, and the food is served hot and always flavorful. Very highly recommend. Good selection of beers and drinks, too.
