After dining here tonight, party of four adults and two kids, we have all agreed that not only is this Applebees an immaculate vibe, but that our chef tonight was a genuine artist with a true gift and inspired love for his craft. First to arrive on the table were the Chicken Wonton Tacos, a creation so perfectly crispy, expertly spiced, and dangerously delicious that it was hard to refrain from ordering a dozen more for the table. Still, we chose to trust the process and dive into the next culinary experience of the evening -- The Classic Combo, which satisfied with a heaping helping of chips paired with BBQ chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, and fluffy quesadillas alongside a rich and creamy spinach and artichoke dip. Service was prompt and attentive, with drinks arriving quickly even during the busy dinner rush. The Perfect Margarita, although a touch on the sweet side, was seemingly bottomless and certainly ample to last the entire meal. Sodas were refilled regularly, and although the dining room seemed perhaps understaffed for a packed Saturday evening, our waiter made sure we were always taken care of and never lost in the shuffle. My Bourbon Street Steak arrived cooked to perfection exactly as I had ordered it, and was quite a bit more tender and flavorful than other steaks I have ordered at twice the price. The accompanying mashed potatoes were creamy and generously portioned, and paired well with the medley of mushrooms and onions which completed the meal. And yet, as good as the entrees were, perhaps my personal culinary highlight of the evening were the boneless buffalo wings -- a bonus round of sorts, as they were included with our double entree orders. Great buffalo sauce is an art, but as it should be noted again, our Chef was an Artist, and never one to disappoint on flavor. These boneless wings were the exact right balance of crunch and juicy tenderness, of tang and heat, of zest and savory saucy goodness. Balanced against the crisp cool backdrop of celery and ranch dipping, I fully expect this piece to be the highlight of the meal. I wasn't prepared for came next. A round of Oreo Milkshakes for the table. The piece de resistance. The exact right blend of ice cream and whipped cream, of smooth creamy divinity and chunky Oreo heaven. A masterpiece. A reason to return. A reason to be. We were even accommodated with large Pepsi cups to take them on the road as we left, going our separate ways, and yet each returning home a little fuller, a a little more connected, a little more whole. The wanton tacos didn't have limes and the sauce wasn't drizzled on it like it's supposed to. I visited this location today and I sat in the bar area where the hostess advised me to sit. I sat at the table with no Menu or for over 14 minutes. I used their electronic device to page a waitress and still no response, in the time I sat there I made eye contact with at least 6 waitresses and not one of them stopped to ask if they could help me. Finally a waitress walked up to me to see if I needed anything and at that point I asked for a manager. A gentlemen by the name of Steven walked up and I told him that I will not be ordering and all I wanted to do was let him know of the poor service at their restaurant. It's stinky in here the chips were stale ask for more chips and I got more stale chips the beer was poured with 4 inch of foam so I wasn't get another. The smell was like pee pee. The food was really tasty. Came out hot and fresh. The place was very busy and would be 30-40 minute wait so we went to the bar. Big mistake! The bartender and two staff members did nothing but complain about other staff members and how they should not have to share tips. Hollering across the bar to people. I requested a box and bill and they just kept at it. I interrupted them several times. This was the last thing I wanted to hear when trying to enjoy my dinner and drink. Ordered take out and there was no clear process for how to pick up. Apparently they had a to-go shelf where it looked like an employee-only area of the restaurant. However, even the manager didn't check the shelf and when he finally did (much waiting happened because no one would help), he shoved the food at my dad and when he walked away he said, "Next time you can help yourself." What? Even if the process is to "help yourself" aren't the employees there to help? Needless to say, my dad was upset and told the manager off. The manager then told my dad off and chased him out of the restaurant. This is the customer service you have? This is how you help a 72 year old man? What the hell. We will not be back. read more

I loved the charming feel of the town and the utter beauty of the place in October, but it was seriously lacking in dining/drinking options. That's where Applebee's came in handy. My friends and I would travel to Heath on countless occasions to partake in the cheap happy hour specials before really beginning the pregame back on campus. The townies were always so much fun to watch and provided for some great stories. I ate here this past friday 8-23-13 Im a trucker and go to Heath from NC regularily and this was my first time at this particular Applebee's. Being it was late in the evening and I was alone I chose to sit at the bar. The Bar tender was very polite and friendly. She promptly took my dinner order which was the Bourbon Street Steak with Salad. My Salad was delicious and the steak was unbelievably good as always from any Applebee's but it was even better at this location. The mushroom's on this particular steak can taste burned if not done right but that was not the case here. They did a wonderful job and I was very pleased. Thank You Applebee's for a nice dinner. My Only issue is this.... Offer Coke instead of Pepsi please. Some of us prefer Coke instead. But I give you a Thumbs up and a High Five. Great Food ! read more

Stopped in at 4:30 for dinner. After a 20 minute wait, our waitress showed up. We ordered an appetizer and to ribblet dinners. Thirty minutes appetizer shows up and dinner two minute later. Ribb let's must have been air brushed, there certainly waste any bbq sauce on them. Waitress never came back until she dropped off bill. Poor service and poor food = no return. read more

Applebee's has turned it around. My wife & I were regular customers until we got bad service & bad food. After 6 months went by, we decided to give them another chance. We we're very surprised over the changes that were made! They brought back the double crunch shrimp dinner on their 2 for 25 menu, which I'm a big fan of, & my wife had the steak dinner which was GREAT! The drinks were very good & the service was awesome! Applebee's is horrible. Every time I go I pray it's better than the last and it never is. I've only been a handful of times in the past 7-8 years and the most recent time was the worst of all. The server acted like she had no idea how to speak with people. No eye contact, seemed distracted and annoyed. She screwed up with my order, wrote down the wrong meal. I accepted it and began eating it anyway. Sweet potatoes were disgusting. Literally tasted like old baby food. The fries were probably made 5-6 hours earlier in the day and had just been sitting under a heat lamp for that amount of time. Completely gross. The steak I ordered was just a typical sirloin. It was thin and dry and tasted like the cheap option from Walmart's meat selection. Absolutely horrible. The only good thing that I was given was my beverage, which was a fountain drink. What's that tell you? If the food wasn't bad enough, at the end of the meal and while waiting for the check, our server came back and instead of just collecting our plates she stood there and literally scooped food from one plate to another in order to stack them nicer. My girlfriend and I sat there shocked that she did that right in our faces at the table. Simply unacceptable. You need to work on who you are hiring. Side note, if you're going to have your managers walking around the restaurant, please make sure what they are wearing is appropriate. Wow, what an experience. My girlfriend and I came here on 10.22.17. We got seated and a server named Gabrielle came over to take our drink order. I ordered sweet tea and my girlfriend ordered water. The sweet tea wasn't very sweet and the refill she bought was just regular tea. As she was bringing it she had a confused look on her face like she wasn't sure what she had in the glass. My girlfriend ordered some kind of salad with steak on it and the server asked if it was ok if the steak "was done". My girlfriend asked what she meant by done. The server said "well, the steak comes done, like, you know..." and she had this look on her face like both of us should have known what the hell she was talking about. I made a joke saying "you know, done... The opposite of not done and mooing." Gabrielle just stared at us blankly like the lights were on inside, but no one was home. I ordered the chicken tenders. She asked if I wanted dipping sauce and I told her I just wanted the honey mustard and BBQ sauce that comes with it. She left and came back with a bottle of Heinz mustard and said "this is the only mustard we have. Is this ok?" I said "you don't have the honey Dijon mustard?" She just stared at me blankly again and said she would check. She brought the food out and there, on the plate in all its glory, was the elusive and rare honey mustard! My girlfriend's salad was basically a plate with old pieces of steak on the side of the plate and lettuce on the other side. We just stared at it, thinking it was a joke. Gabrielle left and my girlfriend tried eating it. I asked if there was supposed to be more to it and my girlfriend said there was like 3 pieces of corn and one pea. She said the steak was also old tasting. When she came back over we told her the salad sucked and had no flavor and nothing on it. We also told her that my girlfriend had been chewing on the same piece of steak for several minutes because it was so chewy. She took it back and came out with another one, which we think was the same salad she had before, just with new steak that was rare and drenched in dressing. Still no toppings, just a whole lot of dressing. We complained again and Gabrielle said "I thought when I brought it out that something didn't seem right. That's one of my favorite things to eat, but I figured I'd bring it out and see if you said anything." My girlfriend and I just looked at each other like "WTF?!". I tried a bite of steak and spit it out because it tasted raw and chewy. The manager came over and asked what was wrong. We told him the steak was undercooked and the salad had no toppings and was swimming in dressing. He asked if my girlfriend wanted anything else and I commented that his cooks screwed up a simple salad, not once but twice, so I didn't think they could handle anything more difficult. This is a great place. All of the servers, especially the bartenders, are attentive and really attempt to make this an enjoyable experience. Try the pepper crusted sirloin (too spicy, I get mine without pepper) with whole grains. It may sound too healthy but it is delicious and has mushrooms, tomatoes, and spinach. There is more than enough steak, and the sauce that accompanies it is delicious. They are open later than any restaurant in this area, which is an added bonus. We ordered carry out and once my teenage son picked up our order and got home we realized that the two cheeseburgers didn't have any toppings and we were missing the blue cheese dressing with our boneless wings. My wife called and spoke to the manager whose name rhymes with "hairy" who tried to act as if the burgers weren't supposed to have toppings and that we ordered the wrong thing. Then we she corrected him and told him about the missing blue cheese dressing he said maybe he could offer a 10% discount. She told him that this sort of thing has happened before when we have ordered carry out and we were disappointed and he wouldn't budge until she told him never mind that her husband was just going to post the review on Yelp then he felt that 25% was more fair. For a chain restaurant, this was pretty good. We had a gift card so decided to go one night. The server was nice and didn't make us wait around much even though it was quite busy that night. My husband really loved the burger, because it had jalapeños on it and was spicy. I had the Napa Chicken and Portobello, but was not sure I saw any portobellos at all on my plate. It is one of the weight watchers choices, which I normally would avoid like the plague but had to order due to having gestational diabetes at the moment. It was not very flavorful, but I ordered it for reasons other than awesome flavor, so I guess I wasn't too disappointed! Husband asked if I stopped eating halfway through the meal because I was full or for lack of interest in the food, to which I answered a little bit of both. The host at the door seemed half asleep and mumbled something at us when we walked out. We have eaten here a couple of times now and it's just not good. I understand that it's a chain and the food is not likely to be outstanding but it really is at best just mediocre. Also, a big pet peeve of mine is when you ask a waitress something about the food and they don't know the answer but give you one anyway. We ordered the Salsa Verde Shredded Brisket Nachos (canned beef btw yuck) and asked the waitress if they had onions on them, before we ordered. She insisted that they did not. We received the nachos and low and behold big chunks of chopped onions. The manager did take them and fix new which was nice of him but the waitress response was that they had never been there before. The manager however said oh yeah they are in the queso, as soon as we told him about it. The wontons are odd because they are mini wontons and so there's more wrap than filling. The good news?
