If I could give 0 for service I would . I visited this restaurant after a memorial service. There were about 6 of us . I got there first with a friend so while we waited for our table and the others to arrive I went to the bar. They were fairly busy so I cleaned off an area and stood there for about 3-5 minutes at the bar. I was never acknowledged with normal customer service greetings like hello one moment etc. after about 3-5 minutes I sat down and waited for about an additional 10 minutes at which time a white couple came and sat to my left they greeted me and I did as well. Then a white couple came and sat to my right . The bartender immediately comes over gave them their beers( regulars so she knew what they were drinking ) and menus (this is the couple to my right who came last out of all three consumer groups ) and then walked away . I'm still sitting there and had been for about 15-17 minutes at this point. She then looks to my left and sees the couple and says hi I didn't see you there and brings 3 menus. Still hasn't recognized the fact that I had been standing and then sitting there before all of them . I kindly got up and slowly walked to the other side where the party I was with were filtering in. I explained the situation and left ; they stayed. I pray that they received the experience they deserved for staying and eating at a location that obviously doesn't see them. Prior to me walking away , one of the bartenders whispered something to the bartender who I assumed was assigned to the side of the bar I was sitting at and I'm sure she said something relative to "she's been sitting there for a while etc" and that lady still chose to remain willfully ignorant. Ordered dinner through Door Dash. No issues with the delivery. Husband had the Hummus plate. Said it was good. I ordered the Mackenzie Pasta. It had good flavor. Not enough broccoli though. But two big complaints. First, DO NOT OVER COOK YOUR PASTA. The pasta was so overcooked, it was mush. Second, of course it was to go. The bowl they put it in was ok but, they lined it with parchment paper. The pasta was stuck to it! It was hard to eat without getting the paper in the bite. Seriously people! read more

No. Excellent deal. It was pretty filling. I couldn't finish it. What was nice was you could get it cooked the way you wanted it, which now a days hardly happens. What was nicer is it actually came out the way we wanted it medium rare. That was very nice. Fries came with the burger. Ours were cold, so Christa brought us a fresh batch. They were the batter covered fries. Pretty good! Apparently they have a reward program. So if you are thinking of going download that first. We dont often do reward programs so we passed, but it seemed like if you were to frequent this restaurant it would be worth doing. Three stars mainly due to fries being served cold. Even second batch was a bit cold. Burger was very good, but not extraordinary. Still solid. A bit too thick for my liking but that is totally personal preference. Fruit cup for the kids meal is horrible with only 3 pieces of fruit. The most expensive burger the Kodiak comes plain with no lettuce or tomato or pickles even tho in the picture it shows it's suppose too, so that's false advertisement and a sue-able offense. We go often and appreciate the large bar area. Typically order a burger or pizza which are solid choices. The bar staff are friendly, attentive and know their stuff! The drinks were excellent! well-balanced and consistent. You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do and they work well together. Draw back is they are not allowed to have the volume of the TVs on. Can be irritating when many show up to watch a game. read more

Great menu from pizza to Italian dishes. Good beer & wine selection. We usually sit at the bar because the servers are great and we get our food quickly. Love the atmosphere of the bar area. They have a rewards program that has many great specials. If you don't get there early on Monday evening you may not get a place at the bar. Big shout out to Nichole, Marcie, Cody & sometimes Andrew. Meh, I'd keep driving if you've never been here. We stopped in for the Poutine and Rangoon Pizza. They didn't have either, which is my fault I Didn't check their website first otherwise we would not have stopped. The whole place was FREEZING. Bathroom was disgusting and even colder, decided to wait and go to a gas station. As for the food: Spring Rolls- Pretty Good but not stellar Lodgepoles- Very bland and the marina sauce was even more so. I compare this to CiCis. Reuben Pizza- Was not cut all the way, meat was very thick and chewy, very little kraut mostly burnt, cheese did not blend well with the pizza overall. I imagine this place uses the cheapest ingredients they can on all of their dishes (at least that was my opinion on the 4 items we ordered). Lastly, Tuscan Pasta, very dry and a little too spicey for my wife, but that's just personal preference. The worst part was the bread stick with the meal. It was as hard as a rock and I wouldn't have fed it to my dog. I don't typically bother staff with food corrections, especially in this case where I quickly realized that this is just how this restaurant operates. The best course of action is to warn others not to waste their money and stop at the many other places nearby. Staff was ok, but seemed slightly annoyed with our request to move away from the window seat due to the temperature. The inside had a very nice atmosphere overall. I suggest they turn on the heat and maybe start ordering from hello fresh instead of trying to run an actual kitchen, but I don't foresee them having an interest in producing a quality product. read more

I have gotten the Chicken Alfredo before but when I went in April 16th it was so bad. There was no Alfredo sauce except a small amount on the bottom. I think the pasta was cooked a little less then al dente it was dry. Never again will I get that! They make great chicken tortilla, and French onion soup. My friend got the prospect burger. I was jealous of that because my meal was bad! They have good food just don't get the chicken Alfredo! Oh and they charged $2.50 just to get some sauce on it!! VERY disappointed ! Menus were EXTREMELY dirty and sticky . That should have given us a clue to the overall experience we were about to have. Appetizer plates were brought out and the top one was clean ( or so we thought) the next three plates had food residue and straw wrappers. Upon arriving the parking lot was empty, and I mean empty. When we entered there may have been 2-3 table sat and my husband and I thought this was because it was a Wednesday evening. The only good thing from the nachos was the salsa which came on the side. The waitress only checked on us 1 or 2 the whole meal experience so when she asked how the nachos were, my husband said that they were not good and that the guac was bad. The waitress gave us an attitude and took the nachos away. Then my husband ordered the Cajun chicken penne pasta. When he tried it he looked as if he was going to puke, so I jokingly asked what's wrong with this. He explained that it tasted as if they didn't seasoning it and the chicken he had was burn, it had char marks and also had no flavoring. He laughed because the only thing he liked was the breadstick, he said oh look something with flavor. This coming from the guy who always finishes his food and never complains. Informed the same waiter that this also takes bad and she then took it and walked away saying nothing. When she returned she informed us that the penne pasta has been removed from the bill. Think this was my first experience eating Mackenzie River food. I ordered on their website for pickup for my parents and self. One small Cobb Salad w/ ranch and two Caesar Salads w/ "grilled chicken" ($5 up-charge per Caesar salad). I walk in to pick up our order, and one of the young gals said they tried calling but got the voice mail: She said they couldn't make our Caesar salads because "you can't get chicken with them (even though we checked the box to add it), but they could make it and add it for $7 more PER SALAD. Funny, cause my mom already paid for the added protein, so...? That gal had walked away to add the chicken to our bill, so I went and found another waitress, stopped and asked her, and she knew our order; she explained that the $5 chicken is cold chicken, if I wanted freshly grilled, that'd be $2 difference more for each Caesar. Didn't want to pay another $4, so my mom left it at cold chicken. I never did hear how the Caesar Salads turned out. Felling kind of mislead, when I got home and pulled out my Cobb, I was expecting some half-ass excuse for a shitty conglomeration of a Cobb, but was really happily surprised: packed into a nice sturdy small circular plastic container (the lid was attached), all the toppings where visibly present and an excellent quantity-to-price ratio. I dumped it out into a larger bowl, cut up the fresh lettuce with some handy scissors, tossed in their ranch dressing I got to accompany, and altogether, it was a great Cobb salad! The cold grilled chicken chunks were even soft and juicy, usually not the case when it come to chain restaurants that use up the leftover chicken from the nite before in their salad station. Anyway, apologies for the long review, but I was happy with my takeout salad, especially for it being quite full inside the restaurant when I got there to pick up my order. I was pretty impressed with my first visit to MacKenzie River. I loved the inside which had a nice, updated feel to it and the staff was doing a good job mixing practicality with all the covid measures in place. Our waiter was a little quiet, but polite and got our orders right to accommodate us making a few slight changes to our meals. I ordered the Kodiak which is a two patty burger which comes with a side fries. The burger was fantastic and the fries were some of the best I ever had. My wife got Pulled Pork Nachos and thought it was the best plate of nachos she'd ever had. We finished it off with their version of a "Pizookie," a warm cookie pie with ice cream, and this was just as good as our main course. Simply put, the food was high, high quality and the menu has so many delicious looking items to choose from. I also found the bill to be surprisingly cheap. I think it's a great bang for your buck and was the icing on the proverbial cake for our night. The only complaint I have is the food and dessert each took a longer than usual time to come out, so plan accordingly, but it's well worth the wait. We will be adding this to our list of "Go To" restaurants! read more
