Been meaning to try this place. I love mom and pop pizza places. This place did not disappoint. The drinks selection is great. The specialty pizzas all sounded delicious. The cluckin loaded fries were delicious. We got the sweet heat sauce and it was really good. The bbq white meatball pizza was amazing. I will absolutely get that again. The all the way was your classic supreme. It was really good too. Almost edge to edge toppings but left just enough crispy crust which I love. We will definitely be back. read more

I cannot attest to the service or ambiance since this was a takeout order but the pizza was great! I tried their "all the way" and my husband did their "pigs pizza". The all the way is their version of a supreme pizza and is heavily loaded with toppings - banana peppers, onions, pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushrooms, and green peppers. The crust has a good texture- chewy but not in a gross way. The pork pizza was a meaty version- pepperoni, ham, bacon, and sausage. Both were great! read more

Was originally going to try a nearby establishment, but chose this instead. Inside is deceivingly large, two bars, multiple sitting spaces with a variety of booths, tables and hightops. Service was good. Our server was quick to recommend food options, and kept constant check on us. We had the cheeses fries a salad with their home made blue cheese dressing and the Bbq meatball pizza. The fries were soggy and lacked the crunch that I love, the cheese and bacon bits atop were okay. The salad was pretty standard. Annoyingly, I found large chunks of lettuce stem in mine. The pizza was different, but grew on you. The meatballs were flavorful and surprisingly moist. The bbq sauce was the right amount. The crust was a cracker style, thin and had an overtake on it. I visited Shirkys last night and was very disappointed with the service, specifically from "Tyler". When I spoke up to her about being unsatisfied with my cheesy fries (the cheese was burnt, not melted like it mentioned on the menu), she offered me zero solutions when she looked at me and said, "well, what do you want me to do?" First time trying this place over the weekend. It did not disappoint!! I liked the sweeter sauce and the crispy crust. The curled up old world pepperonis were yummy as well. The garlic bread was a bit of a letdown. It seemed a bit soggy, but that may have be caused by it being in my pizza bag on the way home. The mac n cheese bites had a nice crisp and were full of cheese. I would recommend dining in at this place so the food is more fresh. Overall was very good and I will be back. My first try of Shirky's was a pick-up order. Thus, I can only comment on the phone conversation and the end product. Called and put my order in with a gentleman. He was polite. I had a few questions I wanted clarified first (What's the red sauce's profile - sweet or zesty? Does the Chicken Bacon Ranch (CBR) have sauce on it? What kind of crust - thicker or thin?). Got a personal-size CBR and a large pepperoni/mushroom/black olives for the other mouths. He informed me they were out of pepperoni for the evening, so I asked about their sausage. Not spicy. Cool. Substitution complete. This was an awesome first-try. My CBR was absolutely loaded with grilled chicken and bacon! The crust was chewy - in a great way. The drizzle of Ranch on top was just enough, but was not overkill (a very important quality). They use a crumbled sausage. And, man, this place used the largest amount of sausage I've ever seen - nomnommmm! Great flavor! The red sauce on the SMGO melded well. And it wasn't seeping out of every opening in the cheese. I'll most assuredly remember this place. Perfect pick when not feeling like cooking on a Sunday night. read more

One of the best places in Fairfield county to get a pizza. My wife and I love thin crust pepperoni pizza. The crust is very tasty and crispy. I really like the pepperoni. They get it crispy and it has a good flavor. The selection of beers rotate and they have a good selection of craft beers. The owners (twin brothers) are super nice and they stop by your table to make sure your experience is awesome. The spaghetti and subs are good as well. It is an ideal location for large groups, as long as it isn't at a time when Bloom Carroll sports are playing. They get very busy at those times. Outdoor seating is plentiful during the warm weather season. Their parking lot is rather small, but there is plenty of parking if you are willing to walk down the street. read more

Stopped there last night with some friends from the church on the hill (Shalom UMC) and everything was great! We had a couple of the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat Ales and a sampler platter (chicken was really good). The server was attentive and friendly. One of the owners/brothers (Kerry) came by and greeted us. Very good vibe and the place was hopping on a Tuesday night. I am originally from Ohio but live in Nashville TN now and friends recommended Shirky's to me. ...Let me just say I travel all over the country, I love my Ohio pizza and I have to say this is some of the best pizza I have ever had... period ! They make their crust , sauces and most everything from scratch fresh every day .... I ordered three smaller versions of pizzas so I could try some of the different specialty pizzas.... Well...normally I am not a huge fan of chicken on a pizza BUT their buffalo chicken dip pizza is out of this world ....in fact I would go as far to say it's almost addictive!! The white pizza was amazing and the classic pepperoni/ sausage was fantastic ( they put lots of pepperoni on and it gets crispy around the edges ...the best way to have pepperoni) ...I really can't say enough good things about this place- i've never been in there before yesterday but the staff and the owners make you feel like family- you would've thought that I had been going in there for years.... and they are genuinely that nice, care that much about their customers , their restaurant and their pizza / food! When they get it right, it is fantastic food. Unfortunately the last few times we picked up, our order was incorrect in one way or another. In addition, there isn't always consistency in the amount or placement of toppings. Would recommend dining in as opposed to picking up for these reasons. Again, when they get it right, it's fantastic! The gluten free crust and subs are great. It is the thickest gluten free crust you can get at a pizza joint and being able to order a gluten free sub is a rarity. read more

There's almost nothing better than a hot, fresh out of the oven pepperoni pizza from Shirkeys. I had a lunch meeting there and had a personal pepperoni pizza and half of an Italian salad. Both were excellent and I have been thinking about that pizza for a long time. The place itself has in door and out door sweating, a bar and plenty of other seating.
