I am not sure what happened to Bob Evans. As a whole, many Ohio locations have gone downhill. This particular location is no exception. When you walk in, the hostess stand is empty. The staff shuffles back and forth behind the counter avoiding eye contact. 5 minutes later someone says, "how many?!" they take you to a seat, slap some menus on the table, and say, "someone will be here to take your order." 10 minutes later someone saunters over and says, "you know what you want?" It's an incredibly unwelcoming environment; especially for a restaurant that says, "we treat strangers like friends and friends like family." Food is really hit or miss. Sometimes piping hot, other times lukewarm. Sometimes missing ingredients or entire orders... It seems they've kicked up their merch game. The lobby is filled with mugs, tees, hats, and kids toys. In short, Bob Evans could really benefit from some customer service training, management included.

The worst ever. If you need to be treated like crap here! Left us standing and waiting. This restaurant has gone from bad to worst.

The last 4-5 visits have been horrible. Raw salmon. Burnt pancakes. Wrong orders. Great disappointment for an otherwise fine chain.

Used to love going to "Bobs" but the food quality and the price is just not that good. To many better option. My last chance for this chain.

My wife and I have visited Blue Heron many times, both before and after the reboot when the new GM…read morewas appointed. Other than some new decor (which in my opinion is tacky), and a few new items added to the menu, the other noticeable change appears to be the slow service coming from the kitchen and inconsistency of portion size. This past Friday we arrived at approximately 5:15, the restaurant was fairly busy with the bar nearly full and most tables occupied. The server was timely in taking our drink order while we reviewed the menu. We placed our order, 2 fish sandwiches and fries, then waited 40 MINUTES for our food to arrive. I'd like to say it was worth the wait, but the fish was cool and the few fries we received were cooler. The most disappointing part was that never once did we see a Manager or have one touching tables to check on guest, or apologize about wait times. All the guest adjacent to us were complaining about the wait. Our server was apologetic and understanding about our displeasure. Perhaps there is a good reason that there wasn't a Manager on duty, if there was one on duty, it's inexcusable that they weren't at all visible and engaged. As mentioned, since the temporary closure and reboot, the inconsistency in portion size and slow ticket times, along with the decor we've not seen much improvement.

Whether you're a local or just passing through the village, it's a spot that consistently delivers on its promises. The Highlights - Exceptional Bar Staff: The service at the bar is genuinely top-tier. The bartenders here aren't just order-takers; they are craftspeople who know their way around a shaker and offer excellent recommendations with a side of genuine hospitality. Consistently Great Food: You rarely have an "off" night here. From the seasonal entrees to the classic staples, the kitchen maintains a level of quality and presentation that makes every meal feel like a special occasion. A Wine Lover's Haven: The wine selection is expansive and thoughtfully curated. If you really want the full experience, their wine flights are a total hit The Reality Check - The only real "con" to mention is the price point. It is certainly on the higher side for the region, and your bill can climb quickly if you're exploring that impressive wine list. However, this is a classic case of getting what you pay for. Between the ambiance, the caliber of the ingredients, and the polished service, the value is definitely there. Final Verdict: Perfect for an anniversary, a sophisticated date night, or just a Tuesday when you want a glass of Cabernet and a meal that won't let you down.
