She was very friendly, and was very pleasant. I ordered the melt sandwich and upgraded the chips to onion rings. The patty melt was made to perfection and was probably in my top 3 best melts I've had. They didn't skimp on the cheese or onions which is a plus, and the bread was grilled perfectly. Onion rings were good, and the quantity was perfect. I got sweet tea to drink and it was made to perfection as well. If I'm ever back they, I'll definitely be stopping back.

I was finally able to cash out at 11:31... both servers acted as if they did not want to be there... at least they were working... the male "cook" did very little, other than talk... no eye contact was made, and no apolgies were offered... I could not get a coffee refill to save my life... 4 tables needed bussed when I arrived, and remained that way when I left... the majority of the counter was dirty... 2 separate couples left without eating... one was not acknowledged and left after 5 minutes of waiting... another sat at the counter, ordered, then left 15 minutes later after not receiving their food... that is 4 customers that I imagine will never return... where was the owner or manager? todays experience was not what I have come to expect from Aladdins

My experience here was terrible, in my opinion. I brought my parents and one of my daughters. I'll…read moreadmit they were more forgiving than I am here. We arrived around noon on a Friday. All tables were full. There is nothing that is worse in service than making people not feel welcome when you walk into an establishment. I don't need much. A hello, an acknowledgement, a welcome, sorry we'll be with you shortly....None of that. We stood awkwardly at the front of the restaurant half inside the doorway behind another family. The other family nor our family were not acknowledge for about 15 minutes. I tried to make eye contact and kind of nod at some of the wait staff and people behind the counter to make sure they understood we would like a table, but they flat-out ignored us. As if we didn't exist and they didn't want us there. It was kind of sad, really. The other family that was waiting eventually left after a while of realizing we may not be seated and we were not welcome. After about those 15 minutes, three tables of people finished at the same time. The waitress came over and said we could sit in a booth wherever. Yes, kind of like that. Sit wherever. It was clear they didn't want us there. We were inconveniencing them. Getting our waters and ordering our food was fairly straightforward, but the same vibes: not friendly nor welcoming. We waited longer at the table than I would've expected for waters and ordering, considering we'd now spent 30 min in the building and had hardly been acknowledged, but she did take our order. It was after 11am, so no breakfast options. Hmm, okay I get it I guess. That's fairly common for a diner. My only option as a vegetarian is a grilled cheese and french fries (pictured, after eating half the sandwich, about 12 french fries were included). It tasted good, but it was tiny. It was a kids'-sized portion. I was unsure of how a grown man was supposed to call this a meal. It was cheap enough, but I would've paid a couple more bucks for a larger portion, maybe a full side of french fries? All else was fine. The mood/vibe never changed. We weren't checked on, until we waved her over for more water and our bill. We paid our bill at the counter. I don't think I have high expectations. I just want them to...be okay with us being there? Provide service? (I always leave a tip, but I'm not sure what I was tipping for...) It's no excuse, but maybe they thought we were out of towners? I've lived here for 15 years, but it was definitely giving "you're not our people" type of vibes.

They also told us the special for the day! We got a smash burger and a pork chop dinner! BOTH WAS NASTY! NO SEASONING at all!!!! and his asparagus was tasteless! He said it taste burnt! My fries we're really good! And my burger was so sloppy it fell apart I couldn't even eat it! I was turned off! TOO MUCH MEAT AND TOPPINGS NOT ENOUGH BREAD! Sad to say we didn't wanna be rude so we took the food and threw it away outside the restaurant. Our bill was $40 and we did tip. There were alot of flys and this dinner is really small! Maybe about 10 tables tops! Small little town and we got to learn a little about the town from the landmarks out front which were pretty cool! Will be be back NO, was the customer service good YES! Canal Wigwam isn't a fancy brunch spot, and that's exactly its charm. This is the kind of…read moreneighborhood diner every small town hopes to have. Think black-and-white checkered floors, red/chrome chairs and counter stools, a soundtrack of '50s and '60s classics, and waitresses happily singing along while they work. The atmosphere feels welcoming, lived-in, and full of personality. The food is straightforward, affordable, and exactly what you'd hope for from a classic American breakfast. You don't come here for an açaí bowl or an eggs Benedict flight--you come because you're hungry, you want your eggs cooked right, and you know you'll be taken care of. Places like this become community staples for a reason. The service was warm, the energy in the room was contagious, and the whole experience reminded me why diners like this make me so happy. We'll definitely be back, and next time I'm looking forward to trying the lunch menu.

I thought that I would give it a shot again, but the food was just as disappointing as my first try. The service is great though! Everyone seems to be friendly and kind! We stopped by around 10 AM today (Saturday). Every table was full (so clearly others do like the food/service). My husband and I started off with a cup of coffee while our daughter got a glass of chocolate milk. The coffee was watery and bland (although they have a sign up front about having the world's best coffee). Be prepared to wait a while for your food. It took almost 45 minutes for us to get ours; however, it was understandable considering every table was full! For food, my daughter got the cinnamon roll. She absolutely loved it! She said that it was super soft and ooey-gooey! My husband ordered the steak and eggs. He ordered the steak medium, but it came out very well-done (super chewy). I tried his home fries with his side of bacon and both of those were good! My daughter enjoyed the bacon too! I had the biscuits and gravy and a side of "cheesy" scrambled eggs. A big no to both! The biscuits were undercooked and the gravy just tasted like a large clump of flour! The "cheesy" scrambled eggs were tough scrambled eggs with some shredded cheese sprinkled on the top! While the food was not "it" for me, there are other things that I do enjoy about Canal Wigwam! It's a cute little diner located in the center of our comforting and cozy town! They promote many other local businesses through their "decor" - the dining tables are designed with local businesses flyers/contact information, their coffee mugs promote another local business, etc. Again, I really want to like the food here, but for some reason - my taste buds do not agree!
