I've been going here for a while now and I wanted to let everyone know how good it is. They serve great lunch and breakfast. Some of there best foods are there Mac and cheese there mushroom Swiss and there pancakes. The people are super nice and the place is well decorated to look like an old dinner. The place is also one of the cleanest restaurants I've been in as well as the quietest. 10/10 would go to again (though I would stay away from the Rubin, unless you are very manly or a cat) read more

I was in town visiting my alma mater #GoMuskies and stopped by for lunch. I love the food here and the very friendly and attentive staff. I had the carnivore (meat lover's) omelette and hashbrowns and rye toast. The breakfast for lunch hit the spot. The generous portions filled me up so much that I'm going to have a light dinner tonight. I'm glad this restaurant continues to do well. Wonderful little place! My boyfriend and I were driving home from camping at Salt Fork State Park and I wanted to find somewhere off the beaten path to have breakfast. This was the perfect pick! While the diner is small, we were able to be seated at the bar almost immediately when a couple was kind enough to vacate their spot as they had finished eating. We witnessed the same kindness as other diners entered the restaurant anticipating a wait, when a couple seated at a table moved to two open spaces at the bar to make room for the larger party. The service was amazing, there were a couple of super attentive and friendly ladies working the counter and checking in with us. We ordered the full blueberry stack of pancakes and the classic breakfast, and we were surprised by how big the pancakes were (dinner plate sized!!) and the large portion of hashbrowns. The blueberry compote on top of these pancakes was to die for. I also enjoyed the display of children's books, puzzles, and candles in the back of the diner, which I only browsed for a few minutes as our meal came out quickly after we ordered. The diner is right up the road from Muskingum University where my sister went to college, so it was nice to drive around and experience a bit of nostalgia for our fun times together there. My wife and I were on our weekly outing - this week we were in the New Concord area to visit the John and Annie Glenn Museum and the National Road/Zane Grey Museum. As usual, I consulted Yelp to find a "local, non-chain" eatery for lunch. My fellow Yelpers gave Scott's Diner a 5-star rating which was enough to convince me to "give it a try". I was not disappointed. This is a small diner, right on the main street of New Concord and only a short distance from the John and Annie Glenn Museum. I tried their chii cheeseburger which is listed on the menu as one of their specialities. It was one of the top 2 or 3 chili cheeseburgers I've ever had. It starts with a grilled chesse on Texas toast, topped with the burger and smothered with red chili and diced onions. It was delicious. It comes with "diner fries" which are an excellent version of steak fries - better than most steak fries. My wife had the mushroom, onion and swiss burger. It also came with diner fries and was also excellent. For breakfast lovers - breakfast is served all day. NOTE - all day is unitl 2pm since this is a breakfast/lunch place. The service was excellent. I rarely find restaurants deserving a 5-star rating but this diner is definitely a 5-star destination in my mind. read more

While the food is good, how in the world is it an "oldie time diner" as some have said with these exorbitant prices??? 3 people for breakfast should not be $60 bucks....most items on the menu are $17.99+, no omelet or burger at a home town diner should be highway robbery as such and $3.99 for a cup of joe. This place was an amazing surprise!!! During Covid, a lot of my family and I's travel plans have changed so we decided to (as safely as possible) check out some of the small towns around Ohio. And let me tell you, this place delivered! The inside is definitely smaller with about 6 tables and a counter to sit. There are a lot 3 or 4 picnic tables outside that would be nice to sit at on a warm day. As soon as we sat down, we felt like we have know the staff for ages. I can't recall our waiter's name, but he was super friendly and listened to my mother's difficult dietary restrictions. I ordered the chili omelette because on the menu, it stated there chili is award winning. And honestly, I could see why. It tasted just like my granny's recipe and everyone knows that grandma's have the best cooking. The hash brown took up half the plate and the bacon was crispy just like I like. All and all, my meal was only $10ish and I was full well into the late afternoon. Don't pass this place up if driving through or touring the college across the street. You won't regret it! read more

Lots of diner basics on the menu, plus some interesting options. I wanted one of everything. Brisket gyros were a special, so of course I had to get one. It was very, very good. Tender brisket, flavorful, in a fresh pita bread with decent veggies. Sided with a few big fries, I inhaled it. Sweetie got pancakes, also very good, and a big portion. I followed with another special, blueberry cream pie. It was... okay. Not many berries, not particularly outstanding- though not bad, I just had high expectations. Service was great- friendly, prompt, not intrusive. Prices were a bit high, though the quality and portions were up there so I wasn't upset.
