HORRIBLE SERVICE! Unfortunately, our experience at Lori's Restaurant in Caldwell was very disappointing. The food itself was okay, but the service was poor and the attitude from our waitress made the experience unpleasant. My mother's meal was never brought out with the rest of our table's food. We asked about it multiple times and were repeatedly told to wait, while everyone else had already eaten. By the time the manager came over to ask how everything was, my mother still had not received her meal. I explained the situation, and he finally went to get it. While he did apologize for the inconvenience, nothing more was done to make the situation right. We spent a long time waiting, and it was frustrating and disappointing that my mother's meal seemed to be treated as an afterthought. A perfect 5-star experience! Lori's Family Restaurant is a true gem. I went in for breakfast at 3pm and was absolutely blown away. I have never had sausage gravy, and theirs is hands-down the best. Everything was so good, in fact, that I completely forgot to take a picture before devouring it all. The service was just as fantastic as the food. Our server, Brittany, was an absolute delight--friendly, attentive, and really made our visit special. And you have to try their home-brewed iced tea. Lori's (pronounced LORE-eye's) Family Restaurant is an excellent family-owned business right off 77 in Caldwell, Ohio. The home-cooked food is wonderful. They even have homemade noodles! I'm a picky eater and usually can't finish a restaurant serving, but I had no trouble polishing off the food at Loris Portion sizes are just right: not too small, but not huge. Our server, Ginger, was professional and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. It's conveniently located less than a half a mile from Exit 25 on I-77. I'll definitely be returning to Lori's when I'm in the area,, and would highly recommended it to others. read more

We ended up stopping here on our way to my parents house from North Carolina. It was getting somewhat late in the day and we needed some dinner as we had another hour and a half to go. So we pulled off at this exit and stumbled across this restaurant, it's totally an old fashion greasy spoon type diner. It was perfect for what we needed. Just a bite to eat and place to relax out of the car for a little bit on our road trip. I had a ham and cheese sandwich and it was amazing. It just had that old-school homemade vibe to it. I can't say it will be amazing to everyone as it just hit me right. They also have all day breakfast, so our little one was super excited to get some eggs and bacon for dinner. If you are out this way and you need a place to stop on a road trip, it's a great little joint and I recommend it. We were in Caldwell, Oh. to attend a softball game and decided to have dinner before going to the game. Since Lori's was close by the field we chose it and so glad we did. The place was very clean and the staff was gracious. My wife had the liver and onions and I had the hot roast beef with mashed potatoes. The meals were served quickly, hot, and to order. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and we would definitely stop by here again if in the area. No complaints at all, and the cost was very reasonable, under $ 30 for two dinners. Real mashed potatoes but under seasoned. Side green beans were from a can and not seasoned. Staff was lovely and very attentive. Patrons were very friendly too. The service was adequate, but the 3 waitresses kept complaining about the "rush" of 10 people who had arrived just before us. I ordered the cod it was ok a little on the greasy side but over all ok my some had the meatloaf it was a little dry but flavorful. We are camping here out of town and we got free vouchers for the family to go to breakfast here. It was a nice gesture - but once we arrived the staff scoffed about getting tables together for 6 people, in an empty family restaurant. Then our waitress took all of our menus away without telling us that we could order from there if we wanted to pay, because the hotel breakfast voucher was only for certain items. We just didn't know. Then when we asked about where our food was (it has been almost 30 minutes), our waitress replied that "it's on its way, it was a big order". It was awkward and horribly rude. Needless to say we will never be coming back and not recommend this place to any of our friends or family. It's interesting how different you're treated when you're 1. Not an all white family 2. We were hiking the Archer's Fork Trail in Southern Ohio and if you're coming from northern Ohio this restaurant is located just off the exit to the trailhead. I wasn't impressed with the food or the service so we stopped somewhere else on the way back, the Archwood Family Restaurant. I would highly recommend skipping Lori's and heading straight to Archwood where everything from the menu to the service is better. Everything about this place screams "truck stop" except there aren't gas pumps out front and no semi parking. The food is cheap tasting and small in portion size. I don't know if the waitress was having an off day but she was not courteous, let our drinks sit empty for 20m, and just seemed to not care. On the positive side prices are pretty good...$5-7 for a meal...another buck or two for a drink. Bathroom was fairly clean too....but those alone are not enough to make it worth stopping. Keep on driving and eat somewhere else. read more

If you're looking for some classic americana style food, and very, very reasonable prices (along with some kick-ass Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie), this is the place to go. If you're expecting anything more than a classic diner experience, you're better off going elsewhere. Honestly my visit here seemed to be a lot of what's being posted on here, service was prompt at first, but we waited over 30 minutes for our food! Most places average 10-15 for this same order and they were not busy. Drinks sat for 20 minutes empty as nobody had checked on us to see how our food was ( don't get sausage patties) rubber. But it's sad we had to grab someone to get more drinks/get our food fixed. Only reason for the 2 stars is the food was decent. They also own the best western and comfort inn in caldwelll, so we will make sure we stay at the days inn again because if they treat people like this at the restaurant I can't imagine the hotel setting. read more

This place is OK. Some of the servers are very good, some are middlin'-bad, which doesn't help. The food itself is pretty generic, and sometimes comes in strange combinations or shapes. Also, please note that if it is on both the "special" menu and the regular menu, the special portion may be reduced. Not a bad place for lunch if you have to stay near Caldwell, but not the best, either. We stopped for breakfast on a late Sunday morning. There were 15 or 20 diners there in various stages of dining. The menu is small, true, but everything you might want for breakfast is offered: eggs and ham, bacon, sausage; biscuits and gravy; a good variety of omelets; pancakes, french toast, and waffles; and delicious home fries, all crisped and fried up with onions (if desired). Service was acceptably prompt, coffee was tasty, the place is nice and clean, and the prices are reasonable. Lots of smiles all around, too.
