We were driving and looking for something local and saw the sign on the roadway and decided to stop. The service was genuinely friendly with plenty of seating options in a large restaurant. They provided a kids menu with word games that kept my son occupied the entire time we waited for the food and even after we left. The food was delicious, especially the noodles and lasagna special. The first time was because it was the only place open on Christmas Eve if I recall correctly and I was visiting family and hungry. This last month I came for someones 50th anniversary dinner. What a hidden gem. I'm in southern Ohio this week for work. My brother lives northern Ohio. While we originally identified our halfway point as Caldwell, my uncle encouraged us to meet in Cambridge specifically to come to Lee's. It was one of my mom's favorite restaurants, which I should have remembered from my college years when she would want to stop there on the way to or from campus. We were greeted and seated right away and our drink orders were taken before we'd even taken our coats off. We knew we had to order the pizza burger - strict orders from my uncle! -- and I remembered that my mom loved the Mecca salad dressing. My brother and I split the pizza burger and I was genuinely surprised at how good it was. The burger itself wasn't remarkable, but the pizza sauce was really quite tasty - lots of herbs and garlic - and the cheese was melty. I ordered the Tuesday special of chicken and noodles for dinner. They were exactly what I was hoping for, a warm comforting plate of tasty food. The mashed potatoes weren't remarkable. The Mecca dressing was a hit - it's a Catalina style dressing with onions. The salad was just iceberg lettuce so having a more flavorful dressing was the right choice. Service was incredible. We mentioned to the server that our mom had loved the restaurant when she asked if it was our first time there. She was so kind, asking about our mom and when she would have been there. Food came out quickly and our table was well attended to. We ordered two piece of peanut butter pie and a serving of rice pudding. OMG. That was absolutely worth giving my brother the last of my chicken and noodles so I'd have room for dessert! It's not a fine dining experience. It's a local, family-owned restaurant that's been here for 60 years. It's worth stopping in for some local flavor. And we got three beverages, an appetizer, the pizza burger, a sandwich, two entrees, and three desserts for $55. That's a steal as far as I'm concerned. read more

I wanted to give this restaurant a good review because I frequent the area often for business. However, I think three stars is being generous! I walked in and the sign said please seat yourself. That's fine except, I had to walk around for a bit to find a clean table. I sat down and then a woman came and asked me what I would like to drink. While I waited I noticed that the place looked a little dirty and greasy. My table was pretty sticky as well. A few minutes later another woman came over and took my order. In the 11 minutes (for breakfast) it took for the food to arrive, another waitress's daughter brought her toddler in and sat a few tables away. The entire staff (including my waitress) seemed to care more about how cute the toddler was, than the tables they were waiting. My food comes. It's okay. The sausage links we're the frozen, mushy ones and the eggs were over done. Also the three eggs had formed in to one giant blob and were kind of just thrown on to the plate in a heaping mess. I saw my waitress a couple times while I was eating, but it was only to walk over to grab toys out of the bin beside my table for the toddler play with. She didn't ask me how my food was and she didn't ask if I needed anything else. After the meal she came and cleaned up my plate and I didn't see her again until I paid. I had to wait a good 15 minutes for the original lady who brought me water to bring me a check, which she "thought she brought me awhile back"..... I went up to pay and another lady took my check while my waitress conveniently appeared by her side. Just in time to see how much I tipped her.... The breakfast food was okay. But I would say, if you don't have patience for slow service or that small town messy breakfast feel, drive down the street to the Bob Evans! read more

Stopped here on a road trip with my two sons heading to Washington DC. I initially saw the advertisement a few miles before the exit. We decided to stop in for a late breakfast. Mr. Lee's Restaurant is located just off the interstate and is easily accessible to reach and you can easily get back on the interstate. The staff here is very polite and friendly. They were a breath of fresh air following a stay in south bend. They serve breakfast until 10 but they have a couple breakfast items that go all day. The menu has many options and can satisfy just about any craving. They also feature hand scooped ice cream but we didn't try this. It's also attached to like a gift shop. Overall the people were awesome. The food, we only had the after 10 breakfast was solid. read more

We tried Mr. Lee's for something different for breakfast. We were waited on right away. I love the disclaimer on the menu that they aren't fast food, and it may take time to cook your food. I get very discouraged passing exit after exit of fast food chains so when I spot what appears to be a mom and pop family restaurant I get excited. Mr. Lee's didn't disappoint. Stopped in for lunch. Even though I'm skeptical of pulled pork above the Mason Dixon Line I gave it a shot. Fresh cole slaw didn't disappoint. The sandwich was piled high with meet and sauce. And the fries were cooked to perfection. Every last one of them was slightly crispy. You wouldn't think it would be that hard to make a good french fry but apparently it is. We come to the area every so often for business. I was there a couple of times pre-covid so I wanted to go again while we were there this week. And listen, after this experience, I do want to go back but I am going to give them some time to recover. G likes fish on Fridays and he was assured it was a large piece of fish. He ordered an extra piece and when his meal arrived, there were two five inch square pieces. Not expected buy hey, dinner. They refill condiment bottles, specifically we noticed an ancient darkened bottle of malt vinegar. It had been reused so often or perhaps had sat unused so long, there was a good deal of sediment at the bottom. A little later, they did apologize for the bottle. We ordered dessert, two warm pieces of pie with ice cream. My pie was completely cold - like refrigerated - with three scoops of ice cream. his was warm with no ice cream. The wife and I are always looking for a new favorite restaurant and heard that Mr Lee's Restaurant was one to try when we were in the Cambridge area. So, driving home from an afternoon visit with family last week we stopped in to Mr Lee's to try an early evening meal. We ordered a coney dog, a regular dog, fries, onion rings and a pizza burger. They advertise the pizza burger being made since the 60's. I had an aunt that worked a restaurant in Ohio in the 50's and 60's where they specialized in pizza burgers, so I had to try one! Nope, it wasn't anything like the ones I had gotten in my early years. This one is simply a hamburger with tomato sauce on it, and not very good tomato sauce! The dogs were just ok. The buns were hard, and the chili was with beans and not real tasty. So, how do we rate our experience at at Mr Lee's? The food gets a 2, the facility gets a 3, the waitress was great so the service gets a 5, and the value gets a 3. The best I can give our experience at Mr Lee's is an overall 3. Will we go back for a 2nd experience? No, there are other places in the area we like much better. read more

Mr Lee's is a great place to eat. You will see Mr Lee and his wife both in there working from time to time. Also their children (who are not really children they are in their 40s) work there. Its definately a family owned and run business. They have the best onion rings ever! Never frozen, lightly breaded very thin. They are fantastic! But my favorite dish on the menu is their Mexican Sopapillas! I always get the "regular" which has meat, taco sauce, lettuce, cheese and tomatoes. I can't believe I drove past this gem for years and didn't stop in for a meal! This place is great!! I know the Forum and Theo's gets most of the attention in Cambridge, but this place should get a lotta love too. My wife and I rode the Guernsey Bike trail and then stopped here for a late lunch. It's an old school type diner, pretty typical, nice and clean, maybe a tad rough around the edges. Our waitress was Shelley, I believe, and she informed us that the restaurant has been in the same family for 40 years and the meals are homemade. That got my attention so I ordered up the chicken and noodles special with mashed potatoes and corn. It was outstanding! Good portions, very tasty, in fact the noodles tasted like my grandmother's homemade noodles from an era long ago. My wife got a tex-mex bowl and it was delish as well. Just passing through this area on our way to vacation in Hocking Hills. We stopped here because we wanted a sit down meal and not fast food. The staff was very sweet and attentive. There is a great selection of different foods. We liked that they give the history of the pizza burger in the menu. I had the creamed chicken over biscuits. Husband had a turkey club sandwich. The food was good, but the pie was amazing!! I had peach and husband had cherry. The homemade crust was super!! The decor is cute and kitschy. It reminded me of my grandma's house, but it was comfortable and you can see the memories that this place holds. Good choice if you want to avoid fast food. read more

All of the customers were grouped in the same area. They had plenty of open seating so social distancing should not have been a problem. Most of the wait staff were wearing masks except for one who ran around the restaurant sitting with customers and talking to them all without their masks on. In case the management owner wants to identify this individual. Here's a brief description: She has dark hair with part of it shaved in the back, has no teeth and weighs about 300 pounds. They were cleaning between customers which was nice to see, however my husband and I were crop dusted with the sanitizing solution. Over half the customers were coughing intermittently while we were there. It took approximately 30 minutes to get a salad and club sandwich on a bun. We were so disgusted we couldn't get outta there fast enough. When we returned to our vehicle we witnessed a black truck with a couple younger folks in the back seat. Wife and I ate dinner here once. Place is OK for your typical family joint. Dining area is clean. Staff was polite, but a bit on the slow side. I had lasagna and garlic bread. Neither were fresh made. You could tell they were frozen foods that were just heated up in a microwave. The meal wasn't horrible, but I expected better than TV dinner quality. The restaurant has been around forever- old decor, diner style service, big menu, etc. I ordered a BLT on wheat with fries and cole slaw. No complaints. The fries were hot, crispy, and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the breaded pork tenderloin with fries and cottage cheese. He said the pork was really tasty. The pork was recommended by our server and the server at the table next to us. Our server was really friendly, but she was missing in action most of the time. However, we did show up after 8pm and figured maybe she was doing her closing duties in the kitchen.
