8 oz sirloin with whiskey glaze, Mac & cheese and baked potato
Julie B.

Loved this restaurant! Stopped by for dinner and was blown away by this place. The restaurant is pretty big and has a rustic country vibe. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. Our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout our time there. The menu was huge and had lots of options. We started out with the corn nuggets for our appetizer. They were good. I ordered the fun dip drink and felt like I was literally drinking the candy. For my entree I ordered the 8 oz sirloin with whiskey glaze, Mac & cheese and baked potato. Everything was delicious! There was also live music whenever we were there which was a nice surprise. I highly recommend this place!

House salad - amazing

OK...This place is a MUST stop. My wife and I were blown away with the whole experience. Man oh man...the staff were friendly and attentive. The fresh house salad was great. I am not a huge fan of the "green leafy crap" but this was so tasty. Their dressings are all homemade...and their blue cheese...scrumptious. Our steaks were out of this world. Cooked to perfection and tasted amazing...the sides were awesome as well. The place isn't flashy. Lots of dead animals stuffed on the walls and the dining room was basic but don't let that fool you...the dining room experience is still fantastic. They had a nice selection of alcohol and the strawberry mule we shared was one of the best ones we have had in a while. Again, we are trying to figure out how to come back to this place. Bear in mind...it was a bit pricy for what we usually do. For the two of us with tip it was $85.00 I believe...but we would spend that again in a heart beat because it was so good. All their beef is locally grown and grass fed and I believe all of their stuff is locally sourced. You need to try this place...based on our experience tonight...you will not be disappointed.

Side salad - excellent

I can't believe it has been ten years since I visited Bear's Den! A lot has changed since my last visit in 2014. They expanded the restaurant and added some new menu items. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated and our drink requests were taken. As an appetizer, we requested corn fritters and onion rings. For dinner, I requested smothered chicken with a salad and baked sweet potato. The waitress brought us bread and butter with our drinks. The place was pretty busy and we sat in the expansion area. A little while later, the appetizers were delivered. The corn fritters were tasty, as were the onion rings. My side salad was excellent. Then dinner arrived. My smothered chicken was served over a bed of rice and it was hot and delicious. My baked sweet potato was also delicious, but with bread, salad, and appetizers, I was already almost full. I didn't finish all of my food since I was pretty full, but the meal was excellent.

Per referral of my daughter, we stopped here for lunch on our way back from Columbus. Just off the interstate a couple miles, this hidden gem did not disappoint! The atmosphere is much like a mountain lodge with a cozy little bar area inside and an upbeat bar/stage area outside. The menu was unexpected, with a variety of fresh cut steaks, seafood and delicious comfort food. The deserts are made fresh and are huge! So delicious! Live music on the weekends is definitely a plus! We will return!

Found this gem on the way to Kentucky. We went during dinner time, and the place was packed. The parking lot was not small, but all filled up. And With customers waiting both inside and outside. We sat by the bar, waited several minutes before getting serviced. Bartender was friendly, and the Moscow mule was so good, one of the tastiest I ever had. Vibe: super friendly and rustic. Restrooms are renovated and very clean. The wall signages are pretty funny, make sure you check them out. Food: juicy steaks, delicious appetizers, authentic country style tastes, perfectly baked potato, fresh make buns and sauces. We will definitely order the Tomahawk steak for 2 next time. Price: reasonable. Highly recommend by @WineDinenVacay

Next time I have to save room for dessert!

Don't be fooled by the exterior - it's bright and welcoming inside (albeit heavily decorated with dead animals). I stopped in for lunch and I will absolutely be back next time I'm in the area. My server was friendly and the food was fantastic! I ordered the diablo burger with broccoli as my side. The burger was juicy and deliciously smoky tasting. I was only disappointed that the bottom of the bun couldn't hold up to the moisture so it was a fork and knife affair. Even the broccoli was well cooked and seasoned. Well done, Bear's Den!

Their dry aged beef steak still occupies a prime spot in my memories. Need to go back there one day. Easily in my top 5.

Delicious food after a 90 minute wait. Grandkids were starved but survived. Fun atmosphere with bears and other wildlife decor.

Elle & Jack's - Arancini

Elle & Jack's

Jerk chicken special on Friday 4/24/26 was fire. Not exaggerating when I say that I preferred it…read moreover the jerk chicken I had in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in 2021.

Arancini on a menu always makes me sigh inwardly with joy. Rice balls are banging. I don't think…read moreWheeling is known for its food scene, but after visiting Elle & Jack's (also Elle&Jack's, no spaces, according to its website) and a couple of other restaurants in Wheeling, I'm starting to think people are sleeping on this West Virginia city. The food is really good at this little restaurant. Elle & Jack's leans toward Italian cuisine, but it gets a little funky with it by offering things like chimichurri salmon, a burger and steak frites. The menu is small, though, which is a relief. A pared down menu is my favorite kind of menu. Give me a small list of the things you make well, and I'll be happy. We got the arancini as an appetizer, of course. My kids had never had arancini before, and they loved them. But it's hard not to love a fried ball of rice covered in red sauce! I got the steak Caesar, because I do love a good Caesar salad. At this point in my life, I'm pretty much obligated to order the Caesar if it's on a menu. The girl can't help it. The steak was cooked perfectly (medium well), and the only thing I would change would be to make the croutons smaller. We also got a side of charred Brussel sprouts with bacon and dates. These were good but needed to be a little more charred! In my opinion, Brussels sprouts taste best when they're scorched. A side order is huge and meant to be shared. It could have easily been shared with three or four people. Elle & Jack's does not have an official kids' menu printed on a paper, but they have an unofficial kids' menu, which apparently lives in each server's head and can only be shared verbally. It's like five or six items. From what I remember -- because our server's words floated away from me like dandelion seeds in the wind as soon as he spoke them -- kids can choose from pasta with red sauce, buttered noodles, a grilled cheese and a cheeseburger. One of my kids got pasta with red sauce, and it was a perfect portion size for a child. My child liked it but said that the noodles were too chewy (they were probably cooked al dente). My other kid got a grilled cheese, and he liked it just fine. The kids' grilled cheese comes with fries. The scene here is slightly upscale but casual. I saw people who were dressed up and people who were not dressed up. I think it's definitely a come-as-you-are joint, but a place to visit when you want something a little more elevated.
