A great little gem of a restaurant. I stopped for lunch after a canine rescue transport, and had the Carmones al la Diabla. There were at least 15 good sized shrimp in the dish, well cooked, in a nice warm tomato based sauce. The dish came with tortillas, rice and refritos. Everything was excellent. All for $13! The staff were attentive and friendly. My only criticism is that the waitress warned me the dish was "very spicy." I guess "very spicy" means something different in Cambridge, OH than where I live. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal here. We ordered the Carne Asada and Pollo Especial, and both were great! The Carne Asada was cooked perfectly, and the Pollo Especial had a lot of good flavor. The portions were big, and the frozen mango margarita was good. I was here for the first time on a Friday night right around 630pm. The place was BUSY and the fact that the check out counter is right by the front door, there was a crowd gathered pretty much the entire time I was there. We were sat almost immediately, and the server was over almost as fast. She took our order and I'm telling you, the food came out in 10 minutes or less. I had the enchiladas supremas and they were delicious. I also ordered the chocolate lava cake and it came out in a cute little toasted shell. The portion size was big. Definitely could be split between 2-3 people. My friend had the oreo churros and I tasted one.. SO GOOD. The prices are insanely reasonable here. The decor is fun and bright. I would definitely come back. Just hope you don't get sat at a table near the door! The lingering people kind of ruin the mood for you while you're trying to dine. read more

We visited Tlaquepaque at around 8:15 pm on a Wednesday night. It's a pretty large space with lots of seating. I was surprised by how many tables were full that late on a weeknight. We were seated immediately and a server came out with menus and to take our drink orders. They didn't offer us drink menus, but we both ordered the House Margaritas. It was $10 for the largest size. The margaritas were limey and quite tasty. Chips and salsa were included. The salsa was very good, fresh, bright, not very spicy, not too runny. The chips crispy. It was exactly what I want from chips and salsa. We ordered two different types of enchiladas. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly our food arrived. I really liked my chicken enchiladas verdes. The sauce was excellent as was the chicken. Perfectly spiced. There were also two beef enchiladas. My only complaint was I found the guacamole extremely salty. My partner had a red sauce which he said was fine. So I would say the service and space were good and the food was fine. read more

Good way to end a road trip day! Relaxing, not pretentious and comfortable. Had a few people in the area recommend this place and it was close to our hotel -- BONUS! Asked for a booth and were give a booth in the back of the bar which was perfect. Very private and yet close to our server. Chips and salsa were good -- pretty average for MW salsa. Had a quesadilla with shrimp, steak, chicken and plenty of filings including broccoli! Very good! Not sure we have ever had broccoli in a quesadilla. There wasn't much -- maybe 4 pieces, but very tasty -- pleasant addition! It wasn't overcooked, which was the key! Our server was just right --- not too frequent, but just enough. I had an overall nice experience here. The service was very prompt and professional, and the food was good. I ordered their queso fundito which was really good and ended up with their outstanding chicken street tacos. I initially ordered my all time favorite chili rellenos, but they were really bad with raw peppers that were not batter fried. We stopped on the way through. We arrived a little after three. It took eight minutes after we were seated for someone to take our drink order. Our food arrived 32 minutes after we placed our order. One of the items was incorrect. The server just turned around and took it back to the kitchen. There was no I'm sorry. We're going to correct it. The correct item came out 12 minutes later. It did appear that our server was covering about eight tables. We had to ask for refills. The food had a good flavor. One of the toilets in the women's restroom was stopped up. We frequent Tlaquepaque but after the service we received last night, I don't know. It was HORRIBLE. There were 3 servers and weren't busy. We had to get are own menus and silverware. We waited 30 minutes before our order was even taken. We had one serving of chips and salsa and asked for a second and they never brought any back. We finally got more salsa when our meals came but no chips. One person in our party was so pissed they refused their food when it finally came. Four people ordered salads. My dad had to go ask for dressing for all of them. We went there to celebrate a birthday which they did sing to her before we left. Usually the owner is there but he was not last night. I know beyond a shadow of doubt if he'd of been there this would NOT have happened. I don't think I have ever received such horrible service. However, one thing plagued this experience and made it an average dining experience overall: sub-par service and attention from the server. We ordered guac, but never got any and it took us a good 10 minutes to get our server'a attention so we could get our check fixed and a box to go. Tlapequepqueque was an amazing surprise. As a Mexican food aficionado, I'm always a bit skeptical when dining at a Mexican joint in a state that was never part of Mexico, but Tpquepquela did not disappoint! The beef was seasoned and exceptionally well, the sides were quality, and the salsa had some kick. I'd say their forte is the more Americanized Mexican dishes - the Chimichanga was great - but I liked everything I had. Nice bar too! This is a tough review to write, because the food, the prices and the ambiance were all good, but our waitress was lousy. Even with a waitress who didn't know and didn't care, we still had a very tasty Mexican meal in an appropriately Mexican decorated restaurant. Not this restaurant but The Point Tlaquepaque, the service was absolutely awful, usually when I come home for the holidays we go with my parents and in-laws and the service is phenomenal but this time we sent dishes back multiple times and it still was wrong when they brought it back my suggestion is to hire more or new staff that are able to handle the work pressure. read more

Although hidden from the main road this was a nice location. The inside was very clean (even watched waitress wiping down all the menus). The staff was very friendly and service was fast. Our food was hot and delicious! Huge portions and paid less than $25 for two people! I did empty my glass and had a couple waiters walk past looking at our glasses but it wasn't very long before someone stopped and asked if I wanted a refill. Honestly not long enough of a wait that I became thirsty or to not leave a tip. Highly recommend this restaurant to others!! read more
