The food there is great ! it's just that it's service is kind of slow . but I still definitely recommend it for a place to eat breakfast.

Sure, I'd be glad to leave a review!…read more As I was walking along the street, I looked up and there was a restaurant, and it was open on a Monday. Since I was hungry, it just seemed natural that I follow my feet and find a seat. My waitress got my drink request and left a menu in my hands. Before I had a chance to really look over the menu, she told me about today's special, a chicken sandwich with soup or vegetable medley. It sounded good to me. I got the sandwich with minimal sauces and I opted for the vegetable medley, since they were out of soup (3pm). They close today at 4 pm, so it was no biggie. The vegetable medley was swimming in Italian dressing and was absolutely delicious. Once the sandwich came out, it looked like it had been in a fight back in the alley, but honestly, the bun was steamed and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Okay, my meal didn't last long, but I wasn't done eating. So I ordered fried mushrooms and they didn't last long, either. I guess I was more hungry than I thought! I finally settled for dessert - Dutch Apple pie. I would not hesitate to dine here again. I was treated like I was the only customer in the place. Service was excellent, the food was good, prices were what I expected. I recommend!

Marcie was super friendly, warm, attentive and personable. My husband ordered the campfire chicken, (?) 1/4 chicken with potatoes, corn on the cob, carrots and cherry tomatoes cooked in foil. "It tasted amazing, meat extremely tender and falling off the bone, seasoning was light and tasty and the carrots were so good, they were the highlight." I got my usual chicken and dumplin's with fried apples. Always good comfort food. Of course we had biscuits and corn muffins, and sweet tea. The biscuits/ muffins were served in a bread basket, a little fancier than previously done lol (assuming it's corporate vs a local thing). Of course no trip to CB would be complete without checking out the candy section as well as the various displays of holiday ( Halloween, Thanksgiving and post July Fourth stuff currently), as well as beach, autumn, lake stuff, etc). Won't lie, lunch and our purchases exceeded $140.... :) Thank you again, Marcie, you were fantastic!!!

The eggs were rubbery and somehow both overcooked and cold, the bacon tasted like it had been sitting out since yesterday, and the pancakes were dense, flavorless slabs that absorbed syrup like soggy sponges without adding any sweetness of their own. Even the toast was a letdown burnt on one side, pale on the other, and served with what I'm pretty sure was stale butter. The coffee? Bitter, lukewarm, and somehow still managed to leave a burnt aftertaste that lingered far too long. Honestly, I'd have been better off skipping breakfast entirely than enduring whatever this was supposed to be.

We were in from out of state, and decided to meet up with family for Denny's for our Christmas…read moredinner. First off, I called Denny's in Cambridge, from my home state of Virginia to see if they would be open for the holidays. I received an automated message that basically said, "Thank you for calling your Cambridge Denny's! Spend the holidays with us! We're open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas, and New Year's". With that message, our family of 14 planned to dine at Denny's on Christmas Day. Just days before leaving town, I called to inquire about 'call ahead seating' or reservations. I listened to the automated message again, and got an employee on the phone who informed me that they didn't do reservations, and they closed on Christmas Eve at 6pm, and opened on Christmas Day at 4pm. That isn't a problem, but they really need to change their automated message. Had I not called to inquire about reservations, and spoke to an employee, we could have very well showed up much earlier, only to find the doors locked. In fact, when we arrived at 3:30pm, we sat in the car knowing we'd have a 30 minute wait, but we did see very confused crowds lining up at the door, trying the door, and knocking on the doors quite perplexed. Honestly, I hadn't expected Denny's in Cambridge to be so busy on Christmas Day, but the parking lot was full. Like I said, there were 14 of us, and although we weren't the first in line, we did manage to all sit together. Service was great, and I give high kudos to both the wait staff and the cooks (my husband and I split a breakfast platter that was made perfectly!). My stepdaughter ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and something else, but really enjoyed them! My sister in law and brother in law had nachos that looked very unappetizing, but I think overall, most were very happy with their food and service. Great job Denny's! But please update your automated message to reflect accurate hours.
