Stopped in for breakfast this morning with my wife as we're staying at the lodge. Although the interior is somewhat dated it adds to the overall ambience. That said, there are definitely some areas that need TLC. Jordan was our server and did a fine job! Thank you Jordan! I decided in the custom omelet while my wife there one pancake / one meat breakfasts. Our breakfast came out fairly quickly, well presented, and tasty. Our coffee was good as well.

I almost didn't give this a fourth star. It's a "just barely," largely having to do with food quality of the breakfast, which is the only meal we ate here based on previous yelpers' reviews. The wife and I had omelette , which were excellent, and the hash browns were on point, but toast was extra(?). The coffee was delicious and the service was attentive, and while the restaurant is what you'd expect of a state park lodge, it's in desperate need of updating. I imagine the view in the fall is even more stunning than the star winter landscape we saw, but still beautiful. I actually think the booths on the upper level provides a better view of the lake and countryside. $30 for breakfast (tip extra) was about right. Bonus points to our server for giving us hot drinks to go on a single digit temperature day!

This is a rustic and relaxed style of restaurant, and the steaks are impeccably cooked and they are quite delicious as well as the side dishes. Check the hours as they're not open every single day and you might want to call to check and see if you need a reservation before traveling from a distance. Pro tip: TRY THE PIE!!! The staff here are super friendly and often check back on their tables as would be expected. A nice touch is the great hospitality provided here, which sometimes in a busy big city restaurant is not quite as nice as what you get here. These are really great people. The restaurant is nearby salt Fork State Park, so if you're visiting or staying there, Bears Den can easily be a welcome treat that you will talk about for years to come.

But I went with the special which was New York strip, and I had green beans which you'll see in the picture. I had almonds on them and carrots. I have to say those were the best carrots I've ever had in my life. Steak was perfect delicious, seasoned perfectly. A neat place to visit and I will definitely come back again.

I read the reviews for Rebecca's Bistro and am glad we decided to have lunch there. It was nice inside, but we are not fond of the smell of coffee. Since it was so nice out, we dined outside. It was clean and nicely decorated inside and out. The bathroom was well-stocked and clean. We had a lovely server, Abigail, who was attentive. I had the Turkey Berry Sandwich, side salad with their herb dressing. It was so delicious. It was different, not overly sweet (because there was grilled pineapple and strawberry jam mixed with cream cheese), Swiss cheese, and the turkey was perfectly sliced and plenty of it on their grilled 12-grain bread. Their herb salad dressing was a cross between poppy seed and Italian. It was so good, I took the rest home to use. I also ordered the peach ginger iced tea. They labeled it lightly sweetened. It was not sweet at all, which is how I like my tea (being a diabetic, it didn't raise my blood sugar at all). My husband had the Grilled Cheese and Basil Tomato Soup. The sandwich had two types of cheese (provolone and pepper jack) with cherry butter on cranberry walnut bread. Oh, Yum! The soup was the best tomato soup we have ever had! We were too full for dessert. We will make an effort to eat back here when we visit again!

They close at 3pm, took our names at 2pm, and said it would be a 45 minute wait (which it was) but we didn't feel rushed once we were seated even though it was close to closing time. Our server was extremely friendly and great! Foodwise, we ordered the veggie quiche with a side of the house tomato basil soup and the bistro burger (bacon added) with a side of their soup of the day, cheesy potato. They have a variety of specialty coffee drinks but I chose to order the lightly sweetened peach tea for something different. My husband really enjoyed his burger and said it was well seasoned. He enjoyed the potato soup also and only wished they had fries to enjoy with the burger. My tomato basil soup was tasty! The quiche needed seasoning...I had to add salt and pepper and hot sauce and it could have done without all the extra cheese sprinkled on top. It came with a slice of blueberry bread though which was nice! The peach tea was refreshing as a change but I'd go with coffee next time. All in all we'd eat there again for sure and would try one of their delectable-looking pastries next time too. Thank you for a nice lunch, Rebecca's Bistro!

Sure, I'd be glad to leave a review!…read more As I was walking along the street, I looked up and there was a restaurant, and it was open on a Monday. Since I was hungry, it just seemed natural that I follow my feet and find a seat. My waitress got my drink request and left a menu in my hands. Before I had a chance to really look over the menu, she told me about today's special, a chicken sandwich with soup or vegetable medley. It sounded good to me. I got the sandwich with minimal sauces and I opted for the vegetable medley, since they were out of soup (3pm). They close today at 4 pm, so it was no biggie. The vegetable medley was swimming in Italian dressing and was absolutely delicious. Once the sandwich came out, it looked like it had been in a fight back in the alley, but honestly, the bun was steamed and the chicken was cooked to perfection. Okay, my meal didn't last long, but I wasn't done eating. So I ordered fried mushrooms and they didn't last long, either. I guess I was more hungry than I thought! I finally settled for dessert - Dutch Apple pie. I would not hesitate to dine here again. I was treated like I was the only customer in the place. Service was excellent, the food was good, prices were what I expected. I recommend!
