Thought this might be another dive bar.... Not that there's anything wrong with that! This is "a cut above"! Like to know where the "deep cut" name comes from, the friendly and attractive bar tender wasn't sure! The place is clean, the service was good, (they care!), and my fried bologna sandwich was delicious! Jalapeño poppers and the other assorted fried bar-foods are most certainly frozen, and okay. They could really take these up a notch by making their own and I made this recommendation. A quick detour off the interstate, and well worth it!

It was ok, "deep fried burger" not the greatest. But customer service was on point. Fries were fresh and crispy.

I love bar food and this place is perfect. I always have to get a steak quesadilla and cheese sticks.

The very finest of burgers and fried food. The fries are just as good as any county fair fry. Friendly home style service.

Ahhh the Bears Den!!! yet another magnificent destination steakhouse in the state of Ohio…read more Customers will drive for hours to come to this place. This is a rustic and relaxed style of restaurant, and the steaks are impeccably cooked and they are quite delicious as well as the side dishes. Check the hours as they're not open every single day and you might want to call to check and see if you need a reservation before traveling from a distance. Pro tip: TRY THE PIE!!! The staff here are super friendly and often check back on their tables as would be expected. A nice touch is the great hospitality provided here, which sometimes in a busy big city restaurant is not quite as nice as what you get here. These are really great people. The restaurant is nearby salt Fork State Park, so if you're visiting or staying there, Bears Den can easily be a welcome treat that you will talk about for years to come.

But I went with the special which was New York strip, and I had green beans which you'll see in the picture. I had almonds on them and carrots. I have to say those were the best carrots I've ever had in my life. Steak was perfect delicious, seasoned perfectly. A neat place to visit and I will definitely come back again.

Stopped here en route to Pittsburgh. I must say everyone in the restaurant was friendly ( we had 2…read moreemployees ask if we needed help/ or a basket while shopping after our meal), but I will say hands down that Marcie was the BEST server I've had at ANY Cracker Barrel, and I've been to several over the last 20+ years.... Marcie was super friendly, warm, attentive and personable. My husband ordered the campfire chicken, (?) 1/4 chicken with potatoes, corn on the cob, carrots and cherry tomatoes cooked in foil. "It tasted amazing, meat extremely tender and falling off the bone, seasoning was light and tasty and the carrots were so good, they were the highlight." I got my usual chicken and dumplin's with fried apples. Always good comfort food. Of course we had biscuits and corn muffins, and sweet tea. The biscuits/ muffins were served in a bread basket, a little fancier than previously done lol (assuming it's corporate vs a local thing). Of course no trip to CB would be complete without checking out the candy section as well as the various displays of holiday ( Halloween, Thanksgiving and post July Fourth stuff currently), as well as beach, autumn, lake stuff, etc). Won't lie, lunch and our purchases exceeded $140.... :) Thank you again, Marcie, you were fantastic!!!

The eggs were rubbery and somehow both overcooked and cold, the bacon tasted like it had been sitting out since yesterday, and the pancakes were dense, flavorless slabs that absorbed syrup like soggy sponges without adding any sweetness of their own. Even the toast was a letdown burnt on one side, pale on the other, and served with what I'm pretty sure was stale butter. The coffee? Bitter, lukewarm, and somehow still managed to leave a burnt aftertaste that lingered far too long. Honestly, I'd have been better off skipping breakfast entirely than enduring whatever this was supposed to be.
