As a lifelong fan of Cracker Barrel I was delighted to find this location on our way back from our recent vacation. First of all I got to thank them so much for staying open a few extra minutes so we could finish our meal. Si their service was amazing. For my meal I tried the Fried Catfish that came with hushpuppies, and 2 sides (I got their world famous hashbrown casserole and corn. The catfish was fantastic as was their hushpuppies and the sides. Really good meal in a really homelike environment with really great service. An awesome travel stop for sure. read more

Two hours into a three hour road trip and I stopped here for lunch. There was a 5 minute wait for a table, so I perused the store. Sat down and Jordan was there to take my drink order. When she brought back my sweet tea, I ordered the grilled chicken tenders with hashbrown casserole, biscuits, and fried apples . Food was served rather quickly and it was tasty and filling. Jordan was very attentive and refilled my drink and even brought me a to go cup for the road. I don't recall seeing alcohol served at a Cracker Barrel before, but noticed the menu. Stopped here en route to Pittsburgh. I must say everyone in the restaurant was friendly ( we had 2 employees ask if we needed help/ or a basket while shopping after our meal), but I will say hands down that Marcie was the BEST server I've had at ANY Cracker Barrel, and I've been to several over the last 20+ years.... Marcie was super friendly, warm, attentive and personable. My husband ordered the campfire chicken, (?) 1/4 chicken with potatoes, corn on the cob, carrots and cherry tomatoes cooked in foil. "It tasted amazing, meat extremely tender and falling off the bone, seasoning was light and tasty and the carrots were so good, they were the highlight." I got my usual chicken and dumplin's with fried apples. Always good comfort food. Of course we had biscuits and corn muffins, and sweet tea. The biscuits/ muffins were served in a bread basket, a little fancier than previously done lol (assuming it's corporate vs a local thing). Of course no trip to CB would be complete without checking out the candy section as well as the various displays of holiday ( Halloween, Thanksgiving and post July Fourth stuff currently), as well as beach, autumn, lake stuff, etc). Traditional Cracker Barrel experience and was just what you would expect it to be. Service was good and friendly. For lunch I ordered the Grilled Chicken Tenderloins, Dumplins, Hashbrown Casserole, & Biscuits. Store layout is the same with the country store with anything and everything as you walk in/out and the dining area to the left, with restrooms in the back. Always fun to look around the store too after you eat. I had to fight the impulse to buy stuff that was cute but I did not need. Not a super big fan of Cracker Barrel over the years but it holds some positive nostalgia and brings back some good memories. read more

Wow never had a worse breakfast - plate of eggs, bacon, hash browns; the eggs were tough, the bacon hard, biscuits doughy. when I didn't want hashbrown casserole was silently charged extra for regular hash browns. My sons milk was two paper cartons on milk that cost $3.49 for a pint wax paper flavored milk. Writing this from a local resturant next door because still hungry. read more

This breakfast was an absolute disaster from start to finish like someone went out of their way to ruin every classic morning staple. The eggs were rubbery and somehow both overcooked and cold, the bacon tasted like it had been sitting out since yesterday, and the pancakes were dense, flavorless slabs that absorbed syrup like soggy sponges without adding any sweetness of their own. Even the toast was a letdown burnt on one side, pale on the other, and served with what I'm pretty sure was stale butter. The coffee? Bitter, lukewarm, and somehow still managed to leave a burnt aftertaste that lingered far too long. We've visited various Cracker Barrel locations and this was, by far, one of the best locations we've ever dined in. Upon entering their country store, you're met with an array of seasonal decor & apparel which is beautifully curated to catch the eye. If I did not practice self-control, then I'd be walking out with hundreds of dollars worth of gifts for family, friends and myself. I love how their inventory contain items that are unique, charming, wholesome, and stylish. Their items are well stocked and orderly, too. For our dining experience, it was very straightforward. We stopped by for dinner on a weekend and was surprised that we were able to be seated right away. The hostess and waitress were very accommodating for our big family. I wasn't able to catch our waitress's name, but she was friendly, respectful, patient, and attentive. She was able to bring out our food fairly quickly, which was hot & fresh. We ordered the chicken pot pie and kids' mac n cheese, grilled cheese sandwich and chicken tenders. We were surprised that the kids' serving sizes were pretty big portions, but there were no complaints on our end. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The last thing I'll comment on is their restroom. It's one of the cleanest of all the Cracker Barrels we've visited. No smells! It was also surprisingly spacious. I sure do like the old Cracker Barrel, between all of the nostalgia items you can buy, and the candy, and snacks that you can purchase (@ a very reasonable price) I always can get myself into some type of caloric conundrum (pecan logs reminiscent of good old Stuckey's this time), Breakfast was just as good as usual with the usual suspects ordered, and devoured. Service was great. There dinner food is ehh. The mash potatoes, macaroni, and steak are down right terrible. My spouse ordered the steak medium rare. I don't kmow if it wasn't rested or was frozen or what. But as soon as she cut into it there was a river of blood and the steak was TOUGH. Like Chuck Norris tough. And the steak had veins or arteries or something. I have been eating steak for a long time and never seen this cut. The coleslaw and steak fried porkchop were okay. The prices weren't bad. They offered to remake the steak and get new sides for my spouse that weren't soaked in blood, but she didn't want them. Food here at the Cambridge Cracker Barrel is good. I like the catfish and the roast beef. And pretty much all the breakfast stuff is good. They have gotten rid of some things on their menu like the blueberry topping which highly disappoints my wife and her sister. The one complaint I always have there is how hard the butter is. This Cracker Barrel is conveniently located next to a Comfort Inn and a Sleep Inn. For dinner, I had Uncle Hershel's Breakfast with country ham, hash brown casserole, and fried apples. I have always enjoyed their breakfasts. Consistent and tasty. My daughters both got the Fried Chicken Salad. They enjoyed the deviled eggs that came with it. We also loved the store. I know it's a chain restaurant and all, but we had such a great experience here this establishment earned the stars. It was busy as we showed up around lunch time. Even though it was lunch time, we did not have a wait at all. We walked up to the hostess station and were directly taken to a seat. Once at our table, our waitress, Debbie was her name, was there to greet us get our drinks for us. With the drinks at our table, we only needed a few moments to decide what we wanted. Debbie came back and took our order. We were thinking since it being lunch time we'd have enough time to play the game on the table. But within minutes, our food was there. The chicken and dumplings were good enough to ebb the cravings for a few hours. The sides were pretty good too. I would love to thank Debbie for making it such an enjoyable experience here. I felt like a total ass thinking that Cracker barrel was pro veterans. At least I thought so your staff is wearing army, air force, usmc, and navy shirts. They are selling rocking chairs with the military logos on them. Have flags and are decorated patriotic. When I ask do they give a military discount they say no. You use the propaganda of the us military but don't give a military discount. Businesses like this should be shameful to use such a tactics. I will say the meat loaf meal was a better deal then what you get at Boston Market, but as a veteran I will not support this chain. read more

My family and I went to here for dinner tonight. Starting with our experience our waitress needs little more training. She didn't keep up with the drinks or bring the rest of my meal out. Didn't come ask how we was doing until almost done with our food. I was hoping to catch her attention if I saw her but I didn't. My husbands food was all dried and looked like it's been sitting out for awhile. The sausage patties was paper thin dried and burnt looking. Definitely not fresh!!!! We traveled little over 20 min out of our route just to eat here. After working all day and being on the road for hour n half my family was hungry and we mapped somewhere to eat. Wanting a nice hot meal and relax from driving . we had a horrible experience. The manger came to our table upon the waitress doings after asking how our meal was. You asked so we told you!! The very young manger didn't act very professional or hold herself very well under condition of unsatisfied customers. Just came over with our bill waving it in the air. A single man came in and was seated near us. The waitress now waited on him and continued to ignore us. After 15 minutes with not even as much as a "I'll be right with you" we left. Being a Yankee who rarely leaves the city, this was my first time eating at a Cracker Barrel. I was beyond hungover, one of those hangovers where you question whether or not you're getting too old for this sort of thing before shoveling copious amounts of food in your face to convince yourself that you're not. When we first walked in I was like, "There's a store?! Can we go look after we eat? Please please please! LOOK AT ALL THE ROCKING CHAIRS!" Because despite being too old to drink so damn much, I'm also a child on the inside. The portions are massive and it seemed like everything comes with three sides. Perfect. We ordered the country fried steak with gravy and a fried egg, a country fried shrimp platter with hush puppies, dumplins, green beans, a biscuit, cornbread, fried apples, fried okra, a baked sweet potato, and a blackberry sweet tea. The steak with gravy was solid. Not something to go out of your way for, but hearty and filling, and at a good price. I really liked my fried shrimp, they were well seasoned, and the hush puppies were OK. That sweet tea was amazing though, I think we ended up ordering three. Get it with extra blackberry, very refreshing! The green beans were too overcooked to eat. The fried okra wasn't worth ordering, unseasoned batter and I don't think their okra was very fresh. Ditto for the cornbread and biscuits, very dry. The fried apples seemed to be sauteed, not fried, and still had their skin on them. The sweet potato is a potato, put some butter and cinnamon on there and it's hard to mess up. The dumplins are basically wet perogies in an unseasoned gravy (we added salt and pepper). Totally bland but again, filling and unoffensive. That's how I would describe most of the food here: edible, filling, unoffensive. It's a safe bet when you're on the road and need a big meal for cheap. The store has extremely cute things in it, all of which are terribly over-priced, usually by about $15. But I did bring home their peg game, because if I'm doing the tourist thing I'm really gonna do it. read more

Fun experience for the family if you want to go grab dinner it's pretty inexpensive for what you're getting. I love walking through the gift shop of goodies and clothes and knickknacks and home goods before you go into the restaurant and before you leave. The food was better than I had expected or imagined and I will be back at some point since this is a renowned restaurant across the Midwest. I had the special of the day which was fried chicken - potatoes country beans and corn biscuits. It was more than I could eat so I took leftovers which is always a plus when you have kids. Hey, looks like i get to be the first. I stopped on my way to Pittsburgh yesterday and had a GREAT breakfast. I think it was called the old timers or something like that. It came with two eggs, three thick cut slices of bacon, two biscuits, butter and jelly and sausage gravy. It also included a hash brown casserole and something else, all for $6.59! This was only my second time at Cracker Barrel and I must say I was happy when I left, but some things were not up to par. First off the atmosphere is amazing! The rustic, the old time feel, I loved it! It felt like I was home! I would give that 5/5 stars! Our waitress was very sweet. You could tell she was really trying. She did disappear a couple times and we were out of drinks but other then that she did a good job. I give a solid 3.5/5 stars. The food was hit and miss sadly. I got the country fried steak with mashed potatoes and dumplings. Dumplings were great! My steak was perfect! Had a crisp top and juicy in the middle! The potatoes were horrible. There was dry and had no flavor. You could tell my gravy was just microwaved and probably has been siting out for a few hours. So I give my meal a 2/5 stars. My corn bread was great! Soft and moist! Me and my fiancé were in line 20 minutes waiting patiently. Then the guy in front of us called what I thought was his family members to get ahead of us but instead it was a whole bus full of elderly people. They sat them then we approach the counter and the host said I'm sorry but we would like to sit the bus first when these people hadn't even came in the building yet. I understand they made a reservation but we were also paying customers that were treated like we weren't welcome at all so we left and went to bob Evans. I went to this restaurant last month, with my 3 children while traveling home from Legend Valley. At first everything seemed fine until the hostess insisted that we sit in the rear corner even though MANY other table were available, It took a while for our waitress to come, and even though she was very nice, she also seemed very nervous. Everyone in the restaurant was staring at us and I asked the waitress if there was an issue. Turns out there are no black people around and it was making everyone uncomfortable that my children were mixed, she said that she was the only one that would serve us. I didn't want my kids to know, so we hurried through breakfast. As we were preparing to leave another couple came in, the husband was black. They were sat in the same corner as us! Now like I said our waitress was very nice and the food was good, however I will never return to the place. I have never felt so uncomfortable, and if wasn't for the fact that I was protecting my children from realizing what was going on, I definitely would have confronted the manager and left! read more
