Don't be fooled by the full parking lot and large crowd of folks waiting near the entrance. They likely resulted in going to Applebee's for the same reason I do whenever I'm in Zanesville... there isn't much else. Beside a few locally owned outliers, this Applebee's is open late, has a full bar, and you know what's on the menu at all times. The customer service varies greatly depending on the day but if you're lucky you'll get a server that's a real people person and takes good care of you while you're there. Knowing that most of the food made here is frozen, shipped in bags, and thawed for serving, I never get my hopes up. Everything I tend to order is just average but the prices match. The "2 for $20" deal is always good and the happy hour specials aren't too bad. Applebee's is good at doing what Applebee's does. Very basic food at reasonable prices.

Their fries remain among my favorites for burger chains, even without having to load or spice them in any way. Their shakes are made and taste the ways I want them to be, though I did notice that there was a difference of as much as 1" of shake in various glasses we received. The station for things such as condiments, napkins, plastic-ware, etc., was out of a few things. Even worse was the men's room, which needed some repairs and cleaning. But even so, these things would not be enough to deter me from coming back here were I in the area again.
