Be aware that this is a cash only place but they have an ATM on site. Decide to try this place as it was close to our hotel and I am so glad we did. This is an old style diner with some counter seating and quite a few tables. They do not take names, so you just have to stand in line and wait your turn to be seated. This process was different for us but it went really well as we had probably 3-4 small groups ahead of us but were seated within less than 10 minutes. The service was very timely but not overbearing. We had drinks and our order taken probably with 5 minutes of being seated which was very nice. We got our food within probably 10-12 minutes of ordering which I thought was really good given how busy it was. As for the food, it was all very good. I had the biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns and a sausage patty all of which was very good. The sausage is their own recipe which was a little less seasoned than most but it was a very good patty. My wife had her usual eggs over easy, bacon and toast and she liked it all. The bacon was a thicker cut applewood smoked which was tremendous (she let me try it). We may try it for lunch or dinner if/when in the area again. I would definitely recommend this for breakfast if you are in the area.

We love coming here for breakfast when we stay in Amish Country. The service and food are always great. This is where the locals most definitely eat. There is usually a line but they do their best to get people in and out the best they can. They accept cash only. The dining area is always neat and clean. Definitely stop in if you're in the area, you'll be glad you did.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy- the line went out the door. Seemed like the most busy spot on the street, but the line went quickly. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable and service is friendly and quick. We enjoyed the food, it was nothing too special, but classic and homey flavors. The flavors were good overall. We loved the pie as well!

Homestyle meals, extensive pie list, cute locals diner feel. Amish buffet not your thing? Eat here! Same type of food but better and without a sneeze gaurd. Parking lot around the back.

My brother and I made a quick trip from Canton to Berlin, winding up here at Boyd & Wurthmann. This Amish restaurant had the freshest bread for a sandwich I have ever had. The bologna sandwich was terrific, the slaw was like my mom's, and the iced tea was steeped to a strength I've never had in a restaurant. My brother said his grilled cheese was great. The service was prompt and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The only negative (which really isn't a true negative) is the restaurant does not accept credit or debit cards. The sign was clearly written to us to see as we entered, but somehow missed it. Thankfully we had enough cash to cover our meal. If you're in Amish Country, you should definitely give this place a try.

The charm is strong, the service is great, and the food is fine. The only issue is that B&W is a victim of its own hype - which I don't think it lived up to. Counter to my intuition, the parts that met/exceeded expectations were the side salad and the bread. The salad was taken up a notch by the homemade ranch that accompanied it. The thick homemade bread was good on its own, but a few squirts of the table side peanut butter spread and apple jam is a must-do! Beyond that, the Roast Beef was good but the "Noodles Over Mashed Potatoes" didn't do it for me. Both were listed as "Boyd's favorites" and get high marks from the masses. I wasn't as impressed. The Butterscotch pie was a good call, but I would pass on the Black Raspberry Pie if I had a do-over. I wish the "double crust" dessert actually had more crust because its ratio to the black raspberry filling was ludicrously low. On the bright side, I took the excess filling to go, so it will survive in the afterlife - apropos for the location.

Lunch today at Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant in Berlin, Ohio! Really great food, excellent service and very charming town! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and especially the pie! It was very busy but we were seated quickly and the food came out fast. Our server was super friendly and checked on us regularly too! Great place to eat and then do some shopping or site seeing!

The food is good but no 5. Prices are a little high for the quality. Not bad, but for the price go to Mrs Yoder's Kitchen.

Worth the wait and super friendly staff. If you see the line around the corner don't worry it moves fairly quick. Food is great too.

You won't be sorry if you stop to eat here. The bacon is amazing, and they make their own breads. Worth the stop!

I miss Boyd & Wurthmann. Visiting here was one of my favorite things to do in Ohio. I miss their Amish cuisines.

On our visit with friends on Friday three of us selected the buffet that featured burgers grilled on a Green Egg, which we all agreed were some of the best we had ever had! I am normally pretty conservative at a buffet, but the burger was so good I ended up eating 2! We all loved our service, the facility, the fair value and everything we ate that day! We all rated this experience a solid 5! So the wife and I returned to Berlin on Monday to exchange a couple clothing items that did not fit right, and decided to return to the Downtown Diner to give it another try. I had the Barbecue Brisket Burger & Onion Rings, and the wife a Taco Salad with their homemade dressing (she loved the dressing). Our meals were fantastic! We met the new owners of the restaurant, who are young very nice hard working people who have a desire to operate a facility that produces excellent food at a reasonable cost to the customer. The 4 of us that visited the establishment over the past few days believe that are doing exactly what they are desiring to do! I can't wait to visit on Friday or Saturday again to get owner Dave's burgers off the Green Egg! By the way, they have an assortment of great desserts, but we have been so full on these visited to try any of them. Maybe next time, other then when it's Green Egg burger time!

Don't sit at the first table by the door in back area. There is a post near the table and for some reason everyone tries to go between it and the table. I was bumped into twice. If you see someone sitting there then go around the other side of the pole. High prices for the food, the food we ordered came with fries so I wonder if that's why the price was high.

Our food was typical Dutchman Hospitality Group food - tasted exactly like the Der Dutchman close to where we live. Not great, but not terrible. Everything was hot and edible. I started with a salad from the salad bar, and was really happy that the lettuces, eggs, broccoli, everything, was chopped into really small pieces. I really like a well chopped salad, even if it's silly. For my hot dishes, I had the broasted chicken, mashed potatoes, noodles, and a couple of bits of other things. The chicken was really moist with nice skin, and I enjoyed the noodles over the potatoes with some gravy. They had a lot of chicken available, and the pieces were really generous. There was at least one beef dish, and I also saw macaroni and cheese, which is not my first choice, but is popular. The restaurant offers a discount on pie with the buffet, but none of us wanted any more food! Overall, a good experience, and everyone was happy when we left.
