Open faced hot turkey sandwich
Jenn G.

Looking for down home Amish cooking? This is your place. Expansive space allows for quick seating. Looked like most folks opted for the buffet, but we weren't super hungry. Our items came out quickly. And they were just what we hoped for. Hubby's open faced hot turkey sandwich had thick cuts of turkey and bread. My clam chowder was loaded with clams. And the peanut butter cream pie? Absolutely decadent and impossible to finish.

I love this place. It was pouring down rain and we came in. It was busy but not as crazy as usual. We came at 2:30, right between lunch and dinner, so it seemed like it wouldn't be too packed. The food was good as usual. Even my son loved the chicken and the rolls (of course) with the peanut butter spread. I loved the fried chicken, the cabbage casserole, the 3 bean salad, and the noodles the most. But everything is no-fail here. I can't wait til next time.

Buffet dining for dinner

First time at an Amish restaurant and it probably won't be my last. The three of us opted for the buffet option for dinner for $17 each. The server informed us that there are several entree items that are not in the buffet line up that are available to the buffet and would be served to us if we wanted, All three of us opted for the fresh roasted turkey. I thought the salad bar was well stocked with delicious veggies, I took some chicken, mashed potatoes and some stuffing along with my dark meat turkey. I thought everything was delicious but some dished were too salty like the stuffing, the roast chicken and pork. I purchased some buckeyes and strawberry licorice sticks from the gift shop and that licorice was addicting. I thing you get a 1 lb bag for $4.95. Definitely gonna return

Atmosphere: Walking into the restaurant, the woman at the…read morecounter was a little less than friendly and just acted like she hated her job. When getting our first plates of food, I think we set at least 5 plates to the side before we found clean ones to use. One thing to take BIG note of is that MAYBE 25% of the food, sauces and condiments are labeled. It is a guessing game what you are getting. Aside from that, our table was clean, and our waitress was very nice. One thing that you MUST BE AWARE OF if you come to eat here, you can only tip with cash. Unless you go back up to the front counter to the woman who hates her job and ask for cash off of your card, you and your waitress/waiter are out of luck. We literally had to zelle our waitress her tip because we felt so bad and I better there are many times a day that customer just simply don't tip at all because "if they wanted us to tip then they should have made that possible on our card". Very few people are going to want to walk back up to Hate-My-Job Jessica and go through the hassle of getting cash back on their card. That is something that they really need to figure out. Food: We tried the following foods: -Tortilla chips with ground taco meat and cheese sauce: With the looks of the cheese sauce, I thought it was going to be very bad, but it was actually the item I ate the most of. Albeit hard to screw up nachos, we still very much enjoyed them. -Spinach artichoke dip: We were excited to try this because it looked fresh, hot and creamy. We were mistaken. This was FOWL. We rarely get something so bad we have to spit into a napkin, but this was absolutely one of those times. It had absolutely zero flavor. -Chicken Tenders: The chicken tenders were good. But hands down the best thing I had at dinner that night was the orange sauce you see on the plate (It was definitely some type of buffalo sauce but of course it wasn't labeled). -Popcorn shrimp: The popcorn shrimp was good. But was sucked about it was that the cocktail sauce is all the way on the other side of the buffet and there is no sign to tell you that. Obviously, it is kept where the cold condiments are, but I had to ask where it was and that was a guessing/smelling game as well since nothing is labeled. -Tamale: Disgusting. Period. -Meatloaf: My partner said the meatloaf was your average run of mill meatloaf but was good. -Green beans and mashed potatoes: Good -Lemon Custard Cake?: It wasn't labeled, and we thought it was cheesecake from the looks. Good thing we didn't put chocolate sauce... -Banana Pudding: Good. Your average banana pudding. If we were down on our luck and needed a cheap way to get a full stomach, we would try it again. Other than that.... No thank you

Had some hits and some misses when visiting this super buffet over the weekend. The highlights: the…read moresheer size of the buffet. This restaurant has at least 2-3x as many food options as my local Chinese buffets. The variety was good, with American choices mixed in with the oriental ones. They also had a pretty decent dessert selection (ice cream, cookies, pudding, fruit, jello, apple pie, etc.), which isn't usually the case with Chinese buffets. The lowlights: the building is dated along with the decor, the bathroom, and the furniture. The utensils are located up at the salad bar. So, if you were expecting them to be brought to you with your drinks, you'll be taking the extra trip back up front while your plate gets cold at the table. I loved the fish tank at the front and a lot of the chicken options. The green beans and broccoli were fresh and crisp. The apple pie rendition was good, but the banana pudding had a strong artificial taste. The host was friendly, as was the woman who walked us to our table and brought our drinks. The price seemed fair for dinner ($15.99/pp).

White rice looks more like paste than anything edible. Pork egg roll soft and greasy not a good taste. Overall not worth the $20 they charge. Store bought microwave asian food has much better taste than this.
