This is our go to Saturday ride to Amish Country. I can't believe this is my second week in a row. You get there and you add your name to the list and step back, or go outside and wait. It's packed but do not get impatient, they have this down to a science and you are usually called within 20-30 minutes or less. It depends on the line. The food is tasty, very delicious. I would argue that this is very good down-home cooking! There was a lot of people who came at once but they have plenty of seating so there wasn't really a wait. There's a buffet or menu items to choose from. We got the buffet. Full salad bar with fresh ingredients, local cheese. Cold salads like macaroni and broccoli. The croutons were good, crunchy but not break your teeth and they had a variety of breads they used. Fresh bacon pieces. The hot foods bar had: -fried chicken (VERY good, highly recommend) -cabbage casserole (little too cheesy for me) -corn (very very sweet, interesting) -noodles (YUM!!!) -dressing (what they call stuffing, it was good) -bbq ribs (fall of the bone but I thought the sauce could be better, have more flavor) -green beans (basic, would be better with seasoning/butter) -mashed potatoes and gravy (yum!) We had good service and overall the buffet was a better deal than ordering something off the menu, especially if you wanted to try a couple different things. Our items came out quickly. And they were just what we hoped for. Hubby's open faced hot turkey sandwich had thick cuts of turkey and bread. My clam chowder was loaded with clams. I have been going to Mrs Yoder's since they opened in 1994. It is just one of my favorite restaurants anywhere with great Amish style eating that is so delicious. The service has always been great and a nice diverse mixture of patrons that are local English and Amish as swell as tourists. The prices are reasonable. I love this place. It was pouring down rain and we came in. It was busy but not as crazy as usual. We came at 2:30, right between lunch and dinner, so it seemed like it wouldn't be too packed. The food was good as usual. Even my son loved the chicken and the rolls (of course) with the peanut butter spread. This is a very low key and small Amish restaurant in Mt Hope. They have a salad buffet along with a lunch and dinner. I have only been there for lunch and the food is very delicious and belly filling. Even in a long line the wait is usually 15 minutes or less. I love the chicken, noodles fish bites and rolls. I was excited to have real mash potatoes and gravy, neither which was true.. or edible. the stuffIng tasted kind of weird like something was bad in it. The smoked brisket was edible after I mixed it with the bbq sauce. The star of the whole experience was our sweet server. She was very kind and full of smiles. A gentleman in one of the stores told us this was one of the best places to eat... if that's the case, keep moving on to the next town! Fairly certain everything is from a can, or package. First time at an Amish restaurant and it probably won't be my last. The three of us opted for the buffet option for dinner for $17 each. The server informed us that there are several entree items that are not in the buffet line up that are available to the buffet and would be served to us if we wanted, All three of us opted for the fresh roasted turkey. I thought the salad bar was well stocked with delicious veggies, I took some chicken, mashed potatoes and some stuffing along with my dark meat turkey. I thought everything was delicious but some dished were too salty like the stuffing, the roast chicken and pork. I purchased some buckeyes and strawberry licorice sticks from the gift shop and that licorice was addicting. I thing you get a 1 lb bag for $4.95. Definitely gonna return read more

Home style country cooking with super decent prices and great service. Expect waits because this restaurant has a lot of visitors and locals to the area. Very affordable all you can eat buffet and some of the best country fried chicken you can eat north of Dixie! It's Amish cooking but that only means to me that it's just good home style country cooking. Simple ambience but don't fret -- if you put your name in you'll sit within 30min. This is a nice Amish style restaurant. The buffet is small but worth it. The food is very good. The service is excellent. I drove down from Cleveland about an hour and a half and I will be doing it again. We got there at the perfect time on a Friday night just before the crowd. We got right in and seated. You can't come down here without doing a buffet, and Mrs Yoder's is excellent. As of 2024, the buffet with a drink is $17, and while I usually don't order a buffet, the price was similar to their entrees (which is unusual), so I went for it. The fried chicken is the star of the show. It is tender, juicy, the skin is crispy, and it falls off the bone. I paired that with the very creamy mashed potatoes, noodles, gravy, and a plate of cold salad. My friend and I both went back for more chicken. I also enjoyed the fairly simple salad bar for a veggie. The buffet is clean, the servers are friendly, and they really keep it stocked. If you want a good meal with a bit of a lot, I think this is the place to go! The desserts looked very good, but a girl's got limits. read more

Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen is located in the heart of Amish country in Mt. Hope, Ohio across from the Mt. Hope Livestock Auction site. They have been serving up delicious Amish country food since 1994. Hungry patrons can order from the menu or take advantage of the delicious lunch and dinner buffets. You can get the buffet to go for $8 per pound. There are also daily specials. Business hours have recently been reduced to 11 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday, they are closed on Sunday. The restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists. The parking lot is fairly spacious but can get very crowded. If you arrive by horse and buggy you may take advantage of the available hitching posts to secure your animal. The buffet includes a salad bar. They offer a nice variety of entrees and sides. There is something for everyone but he highlight is the amazing marinated and hand-breaded pressure fried chicken. Oh my, it's some of the very best fried chicken I have ever eaten. People are willing to drive a great distance just for the chicken, it's that good. I also really enjoy the meatloaf, roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, corn and much more. Your choice of beverage (no alcohol) is included in the price of the buffet but does not include their wonderful homemade desserts which can be ordered separately. This was our first visit to the area and we decided to eat here for a late lunch. We both had the buffet which was an excellent bargain for $17 including drink.They had a nice salad bar and a separate hot buffet--we just did the hot iems. I had meat loaf, chicken, shredded beef, corn, green beans and mashed potatoes and gravy. I put away a big plate and was full. We both got a piece of pie to take home (her pecan and me custard) Everything tasted great and the service by server Sarah was friendly and attentive. If you don't want to do thev buffet, they have regular entrees with sides for about the same price. We will return if we are ever in the area again. There was an Amish horse and buggy just across the fence in the next door parking lot, so we HAD to go over and pet the horse and take a picture. Basically the definition of comfort food. We ate here as part of our package with Dutch Host Inn. The coupon covered two buffers with a drink (which would have been around $18 a person otherwise. When we arrived there were a fairly large amount of people waiting (around 15) but we were still seated almost immediately. I browsed the menu but fairly quickly decided to get the buffet, I was surprised how small the buffet actually is. It has two sides, but each side has the same foods. That didn't matter, though because what was there was absolutely delicious. Super creamy mashed potatoes, delicious green beans, flavorful inn noodles. It was a Friday so they had cod nuggets but I didn't try any of those. The star of the buffet was the fried chicken. Perfectly crisp and tasty breading/skin and juicy chicken, The salad bar portion of the buffet had potato salad, noodle salad, coleslaw, broccoli salad, beets, pickled eggs, five bean salad and also traditional salad ingredients. The only sweet option was a jello concoction with strawberries and whipped cream. It was a perfect end to a delicious meal. Awful, waste of money, buffet consisted of only 10 to 11 items, buffet tables are split and repeated, no variety, looks like it is a long buffet table but in reality it is not. Buffet contained chicken (which was not that good) meatloaf, some kind of broccoli soup with noodles, mashed potatoes were supposed to be real potatoes but were soupy instants, gravy was like tap water, and you are not offered dinner rolls, you have to ask for them.
