I love coming to this place because their food is homemade. The dressings they have are homemade. Every dish you order is also homemade. They have some wonderful pita bread and banana peppers. I was welcomed to this restaurant with open arms. Service was so friendly it made me feel like a family member even though I was just passing through. My meal was great too. On this day they had a Swiss Steak special so I went with that. I chose to start out with the soup of the day instead of the salad option. The Potato Soup was just amazing. The Swiss Steak dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy was total comfort food bliss! Friendly service and good food at a reasonable price! If I'm in this area again I will go back. Great locally owned restaurant. Food was what you would expect. The peppers and oil were fantastic. Good portion sizes.

We arrived 5 minutes before closing time and even though the chef had gone home, Mary and her staff managed to feed us anyway. She fed us a beautiful salad, the most scrumptious lasagna, a lovely glass of wine and even water for my service dog Dolly. I can't thank her and her staff enough for their warmth and hospitality!! I truly cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. It's truly the definition of family atmosphere with down home Greek/Italian comfort food. Amazing portions as well at impeccable prices even with the rising rates of eating out. Came last night for 18.99 got the veal (real veal not the processed patty) parm with spaghetti, served with an amazing side salad [their strawberry vinaigrette is to die for ;) ] and I left with a few meals still to go from the serving portion. I have been coming here for decades. My former home town. Always treated special by the owner (Mary). For a small town restaurant. With a limited pool for securing employees. They have managed to always serve a wonder meal at very affordable prices. When visiting family in the area. This is often our "go to" place to all meet. I haven't been to the Covered Bridge Inn for a long time. I met a friend there for dinner and it was outstanding! I got the Chicken Jesepe, which was a lightly floured chicken breasts topped with melted mozzerella and a choice of sauteed onions or floured mushrooms. I topped mine off with the mushrooms! The staff was extremely friendly. The atmosphere is great. The food was very good, and the portions were quite large. I got the special 8oz sirloin with salad and rice ($15). My wife got Swiss steak special ($10). One of my kids got nuggets & fries, one got a half spaghetti with a salad. We got 3 sodas and 4 desserts. Everything was great until the bill came at $86! Holy smokes! The onions & mushrooms for the steak were a $5 up charge! I didn't know that. The side salad she offered with the half spaghetti was another $5 up charge. I felt a little taken advantage of as an out of towner. If you go and you're on any kind of a budget, be wary. At that price I'll rather go to Outback or Longhorn. read more

Right across the street from my favorite Texican restaurant,Mi Amigo, is my newest favoritest all you can eat prime rib restaurant. On wedsdays from 3pm to close at 9pm, they have a prime rib buffet. The prime rib was perfect for me, rare inside, crusty outside. What used to be called "Pittsburgh rare". Absolutely delicious, tender, moist, and great beef flavor. And it is NOT some cheap cut like eye of round being passed off as prime rib. It is real, served with au jus, mainly lean but just enough fat for flavor, prime rib. And the piece as you can tell from my picture, is honking big! If you don't finish that first piece they will pack it up and let you take it home. Which is only fair. But if you want to meat yourself to death (and who hasn't dreamt of that every now and then?) it is meat city and I'm the mayor. Mayor McMeat. They have daily lunch buffet specials as well. And they have great sides on the buffet, like the best homemade mashed potatoes and broccoli cheese rice I have EVER had out. This place is worth the drive. Had a nice trade going on when I got there with the wifey at 6pm. The wait staff was pretty epic. I mean, when I overtip and I am at a buffet, they were doing something right. And the owner and his wife, or owner and her husband, or however that combo has it worked out, were great, funny, smiley happy. Gonna go back, just because they have veal parm. And if they do that as well as they do the prime rib, I just cut my trips to Boardman and Austintown by half. read more

I came bu on a Monday which is pretty quiet and had a great meal. The best part of the meal was the broth made for the wedding soup. Really, really good and I'm told it is homemade. I'm not sure how this place made it to 4 stars? The truth being know about the place, it's at best two stars. Around 3 yeas ago, I quit eating at this restaurant when the owners wife became upset I wanted to use a debit card for my $70 bill. She made comment enough to ruin the whole dinner out with the family over whatever small fraction her card company demanded. He was vert petty & angry, so we've never came back. The food is ok, but they treat the steak special like your going to steal a loin off the slicing table and run out the door. It's a bit dark & shady inside. read more

We were out driving on a leisure Saturday afternoon. It turned to past dinner time and we wanted something for dinner. Looked up on Yelp and found this Covered Bridge Inn. Decided to stop. First off it's dated. Booths and decor. It's stepping back into 1970. We were greeted once we came in and told to take a seat anywhere. There were a few people eating. We got our drinks. Then waited a bit for our server to order. We decided to go with the special Swiss steak for $7.99. Were told to help ourselves to salad bar. The salad bar is basic. Very basic. But it'll get the job done. Then we waited more for it to arrive. Lots of waiting. Now here's the thing, we were thinking this place might be a dud. Then dinner came out. This huge portion of Swiss steak and mashed potatoes and gravy. Again it was huge. And I can say it was delicious. The gravy was thick and dark with lots of flavor. The Swiss steak was fall apart tender and good. The mashed potatoes had skins and a big well of gravy. Homemade and great. Both of us were amazed. This was really good. And cheap. We both ate and had significant leftovers for under $20. This place might be a little hidden gem. Definitely go back and try something else if I'm in the area again. read more

Read some great reviews on here so wanted to try. They were not very busy(about half full). But when we got there with a party of 2 we were told we would have to wait for them to clean off a table. So we did. Then a gentleman who was apparently a regular as they knew him by name and they immediately took him to a table. Then another group of 4 came in and they wanted to seat them first the staff insisting they were there before us. The group that came in after us corrected them and they then pointed to a booth for us and said you can sit there. We got the chicken and dumpling soup which was amazing. I got the lasagna and a meat ball which was average and my wife got the chicken Marsala which she says was very good. The waitress came by several times and said she would get me more water but never did until I was done eating and then apologized for it. Overall I felt like a Leper there because I wasn't a regular and they would have preferred we didn't stop in. Maybe this was an off night or something about us in particular that the staff didn't care for. Don't think we will return after this experience. Lots of other great places around. read more

Recent stay at Lake Milton and I was able to Door Dash from the Covered Bridge Inn. The grilled chicken fettuccine alfredo and strawberry cheesecake were amazing! The Door Dash driver left the food outside the door but knocked to indicate that it was delivered. I will definitely order or dine here again! read more

I really enjoy the roast beef and mashed potatoes, and the lasagna is wonderful, chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs, any of the pasta really, the seafood pasta dish,.. Oh Yeah,... Very Very good. They have buffet days and nights that are wonderful and delicious, To Go, or called in orders are in an out the door and ready to go fast. Your typical family run restaurant. Servers are friendly and recognize you and treat you like they've known you for years. The food is good and prices decent. Love the salad bar that comes with the meals as well. Chicken francises, chicken guesippe, chicken parm are my favorites. Apparently they know how to make chicken! They have weekly specials as well. I'm a huge fan of Mondays for the all you can eat pasta. Since there isn't a big selection in Newton Falls if you end up in the area definitely stop by! read more

We were just passing through and this restaurant appealed to us. We weren't disappointed. The wait staff was really great and very friendly.

Travelers! That's me too. The steak was advertised as 12 oz but looked like 20. I went with medium but next time I need to try rare. Needless to say that steak was juicy hot, seared, and resting in juices on my plate. I won't go into the good soup or great bread. Needless to say I had no room for desert. Cleanliness, I'm crazy picky for cleanliness so it's good to see a perfectly clean store. Why not 5 stars? The bathroom is crazy small, yes it's also perfectly clean. So if you travel and need that good dinner then this is an easy must visit. read more

I have been going to the covered bridge since I was in my mother's womb, and it's the first place I want to go when I come home from college. Their cheese ravioli is my favorite, it never disappoints. They also have homemade cavatelli, which is great comfort food. The staff is always friendly and willing to accommodate. The food here is hearty and tasty. But the attraction is the family that runs the place, and has for 50 years. George and Mary, and now their daughter Reena, make you feel wonderfully at home. Not really sure how to rate this place. On one hand, it's dark, the booths aren't that comfortable, and it's rather old inside. On the other hand, it's kind of charming in that small town way? The entrance was a big issue, as it's a very small space and people coming and going at the same time were all piled together and it was quite the mess. The servers were all pleasant and attentive. The food wasn't anything special, but it tasted fine and had large portions. You get your money's worth, that's for certain. The salad bar, again nothing special, but it was all very fresh. Perhaps if they added a few more things to it, it would make it feel more full. Overall, I'd be willing to visit again to try some more of the menu. read more

We were camping at the nearby state park and running late for dinner. We walked into the restuarant just a few minutes before 8pm. A wonderful woman greeted us at the door apologizing for having to close earlier than posted due to COVID. But then she told us she had two pieces of lasagna left and would be happy to pack it for us to go. She not only packed lasagna, but salad and bread and butter and a drink as well! We got back to our campsite and ate the most wonderful lasagna we've ever tasted. It was fabulous! Thank you for feeding a very tired couple a delicious meal, late on a Tuesday evening. read more

I'm giving this place a three star review because I really can't tell you what the food was like. We waited for a half hour to be seated with not a single person acknowledging us. Then when they did take us to a table we got water and menu's and then sat there again without being acknowledged for 15 minutes while it appeared as though a group of four that knew the staff, was seated right after us had everyone working in the place chatting and helping them. The food looked good and smelled good but sad to say we got none of it. We were just so frustrated we said good bye and walked out. read more
