I've passed this many times over the years but first time here. It was fantastic! Probably the best omelette I've had out. It was fluffy, not over cooked and the filling was evenly distributed. My salad was just fantastic. I will definitely be back for dinner. Wonderful service and ambiance.

I'm writing this review for my mother but she decided to come here after work - she's in town to open a new canes restaurant in the area. Wednesday evening for the prime rib special . The ambiance is great, the service is top notch ! The prime rib was filling and you could tell the size they said it was . It came with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts - normally she's not a fan of Brussels sprouts but she said these are delicious! She also got french onion soup - some of the best she's ever had . Highly recommend in fact I'm jealous I didn't get to try it.

We love going to Welshfield Inn for special occasions! Love the food quality and the environment it presents. This was our daughter's 7th birthday and they did a great job making it special. From the time we checked-in to the time we left, each person wished her a happy birthday and mad a big deal out of it; for that, we are very grateful! We got calamari for apps, I also got the bacon-blue salad and Lake perch for dinner. Wife got the chicken piccata and our daughter got the kid's spaghetti. The calamari texture was good, but the overall dish was very oily. After eating the calamari, I was not much more in the mood for my fried trout, although it was fresh and HOT. My daughter did not like her spaghetti, after tasting it, the sauce is "different" from a traditional sauce. It tasted similar to a vodka sauce, which is a bit more complex for a 7 yr old' palate. Wife's piccata tasted great, while the chicken could have been more-tender, the tendon was left on the breast, creating a less-tender dish. Despite this experience, we remain loyal and we'll be back. Our daughter did have A lot of fun and we appreciate the staff for that! We hope for a better outcome next time.

But on the inside, you can feel the love from the community and sense that this little restaurant is the go to place among locals. We found a table and sat ourselves and almost immediately our waitress came out of the kitchen with an armful of food for a table and then quickly took our drink orders. She was so friendly and the place was packed. Menus were brought out with the drinks in what seemed like an instant. Our food order was placed, and what felt like 5 minutes, the four of us were served our meals. I bet this young woman has muscles under her little dress and apron because she was carrying everyone's orders out the same. I ordered the Western omelette with rye toast-I love rye. But they have lots of bread options-even raisin bread. Hubby got scrambled eggs, bacon and french toast. My bro in law got a fish sandwich-(walleye) and fries, and my sister got a loaded burger and fries. Her burger looked really good, it had a thin meat patty which is my favorite. We all loved our food, not one complaint Classic food done to perfection. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a local restaurant that isn't a chain.

Inside, there are a bunch of Amish folks waiting to serve you. On this visit, I tasted a chicken bacon ranch breakfast roll, a hot pretzel, some strawberry cake, and maple pecan cake. By far, my favorite item was the hot pretzel. It had just a touch of sweetness to it along with the traditional salty flavor. The texture of the dough was perfect. It had the right amount of moisture, chew, and flavor. It was hot and absolutely delicious. The chicken bacon ranch roll was not balanced. It was served hot and wrapped in foil, but it was missing something, like a yummy sauce or veggie crunch. I think there was too much chicken in it, relative to the amount of other ingredients. So it felt like I was just eating a roll stuffed with chicken. While the chicken tasted good, it needed something else to balance it. The strawberry cake was just okay. I think regular strawberry cassata cake is better though. And the maple pecan cake was just meh. I'll be back to try some other items soon!

Spoke to a few of the Amish Girls working the front. They seemed pleasant, and the service was quick. They were out of one or two things, but once I got the system down on what was available quick, that was no big deal. I'm not a fan of canned or overly processed cheese. I would love it if they did a steak and swiss pretzel, but the yellow cheese made it take a tad off to me. I have tried a few of the breakfast versions and I do enjoy those a lot. For some good cheap eats this is a good place. I would return.

Literally a cheese stick that wasn't melted & "steak" that tasted like how dog food smells in a sweet ketchupy/bbq type sauce. Dough was still raw inside. I am not picky at all and this was so nasty. I'm sure a plain pretzel cooked all the way through would be good. But this I expected just steak and cheese and if anything some peppers and onions. Not whatever that was, it was so bad. I should have left as soon as I walked up to counter and girl serving the food was eating over counter, one foot away from customers food under heat lamp, with food falling out of her mouth and it falling on counter. But I didn't leave cause it didn't get on anyone's food & I heard this place was good and wanted to give it a try. It was $5.99 and way too small for the price, even if it was good. After getting the wrap I walked to the other side where bakery was. I asked for one blueberry fritter. Girl slammed it on the counter and asked it that was all. I said yes, just a bag please. I was confused why it wasn't placed in one already but she said they didn't have any bags. I said ok, do you have anything at all to put it in? She rolled her eyes and put it in a small box. Not sure why that was an issue, I've never ordered food and wasn't given something to carry the food in. And usually get a paper sleeve or a box when getting any pastry. Was I expected to hold it in my mouth while I got my wallet out to pay? What if it wasn't for me, why no packaging offered? The Fritter was good but I wouldn't go back or reccomend.
