I would've given this place 5 stars because honestly, I loved almost everything about it. The atmosphere, the music, the cherry bourbon, and especially the food were outstanding. I ended up taking my meal to-go and ate it later -- absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, the bartender completely changed the experience for me. She was a redhead working the bar around 7:30 PM, and from the moment I sat down, she was noticeably unwelcoming. I was literally the only person sitting at the bar, yet she barely checked on me, offered no conversation, and honestly came across with an attitude the entire time. As someone who has worked in the bartending industry myself and who travels often visiting different restaurants and bars, hospitality matters. A bartender sets the tone for the entire experience, especially for solo guests. Sitting alone at a bar can already feel awkward enough, and a warm, welcoming attitude goes a long way. I still tipped her generously despite the experience, because that's just who I am, but management should really pay attention to how guests are being treated behind the bar. It's disappointing because I truly loved the place itself and wanted to give it a full 5 stars. With better customer interaction from the bartender, this place would easily deserve it. We thought we would give it another try thinking maybe the food was not hot last time because things were slow on a Sunday afternoon. Nope. Everything came out lukewarm. We ordered DoorDash from here as a large group. I got the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and Cheese. As a southern girlie, my pulled pork sandwich was really good and I liked the BBQ sauce provided. I also tried the Dyngle fries and chips as my friends got them to share and it was good. Overall, the food was tasty and o would recommend. We came here after granddaughters graduation from YSU. It was so noisy and loud that you could not converse with people at your own table. Food was lukewarm, and they did not bring one of our parties meal out until we were done eating. They did not charge for the meal but by then it was a to-go meal. In addition, I dont know what is going on with their tables but the entire tabletop was sticky and gross. Overall, we would not recommend due to loud atmosphere, mediocre food for the price, and service that was sub par. read more

I stopped in to get dinner with my cousins. The food was great and portions were huge. I particularly liked the Reuben Sandwich. Others got great pasta dishes. Prices and service were good. It's not cheap but it is a warm and inviting experience. Definitely recommended. read more

Garbage food. Cooked days ahead of time and served cold. I ordered a half rack of baby backs, baked beans, cornbread, and a baked potato. ALL TERRIBLE! The baby backs were at least a week old, dried out, tasted like the refridgerator, and were tiny. Six tiny ribs from perhaps a very small (baby?) pig. Not fit to eat. The baked beans were pork & beans straight from the can with a dash of garlic powder - and were cold. Not fit to eat. The baked potato? They were sold out and the waitress said they've been out for several weeks; so I got fries. They were ice cold and had been sitting for several hours. Not fit to eat. The cornbread? It was cold so I asked for it to be microwaved. It came back hot but literally fell apart when picked up and crumbled when a fork was used. It too was old; made days ago. Again... not fit to eat. I've experienced and witnessed countless empty cups and bartenders intentionally avoiding eye contact with patrons. Enjoyed a meal at Barry Dingles last evening. They had an incredible special which included ribs,half chicken, brisket and 2 sides for only 24$. Great deal! Food was very good, great flavors and cooked to perfection. The vibe of this restaurant is interesting when you first enter it feels like a traditional bbq restaurant with lots of wood and a country feel but we were seated upstairs in the back and it was more modern with a artificial ivy wall with and LED signage. Our service was great, our waitress was very friendly and helped with the menu because it was our first time dining. Overall awesome experience and would definitely recommend, will be back for sure! read more

I got the pick 2 KC ribs, and Pork.. the ribs were flavorful but I wish they were more fall off the bone. Pork was great. This also came with two sides. I picked baked potato and then the italian greens, I wish they were softer (steamed more?) and less crunchy. Okay had mediocre reviews but the name was hilarious. Looked at the menu on Yelp and we thought we'd try. Saturday night the place was packed. Not a bad wait though. Just 30 mins. However, we snagged 2 seats at the bar. Bartender was nice and attentive and it was pretty busy. We asked a few questions on the menu and ordered the chicken tenderloin dinner for me. And Kathy got the Carolina chicken. You get 2 sides. I got a salad and sweet potato fries. Kathy got the cheese potatoes and a salad. Salads came out first. Recommend the creamy Italian. Really good. The food came out soon after. Now I have ordered sweet potato fries in a lot of places but these were really crispy which is rare. Usually they come out kinda soggy. These were good and crispy. And as far as chicken tenders go, I got 8 huge pieces. They are huge. 2 people can eat this. They were crispy and really awesome. Better than Canes or anywhere else. I ate 4 and took 4 home. Honestly huge. I would get that again without question. Kathy got the Carolina chicken and the cheese potatoes. Good BBQ sauce and nice size half chicken. She really liked it. Recently tried Barry Dingles for an outing and boy did it turn out to be tasty! We started with the peppers and oil, which I've found out is a Youngstown icon. They were absolutely delicious! They had the buffalo chicken salad on special, so had to try that with a garlic ranch, so delicious! The service was great and we were checked on thoroughly throughout the meal. I love this place... My only complaint is that the music is so LOUD in the dining area that you can't even hear someone talking. Not a good place to have a group and carry on a conversation. First time in Austintown and a friend recommended here. I love barbecue and I have enjoyed it in many states! Unfortunately, our experience wasn't very pleasant. My husband and I both had the Pick two. He had the KC Ribs, smoked Turkey and I had the pick two with smoked turkey and the garlic sausage. The Turkey was so dry - I couldn't eat it. The sausage was nothing like what you expect to get in a BBQ restaurant- it was almost like a fancy hot dog with garlic in it. The ribs were full of fat - very little meat. The baked beans were excellent- the cornbread was like yellow cake - overly sweet. It just wasn't worth the $50 spent for lunch. Barbecue should be easy - and not taste that bad. read more

Their barbecue is nothing short of inspired, but it doesn't end there. The entire menu is thoughtfully curated, with delightful sauces paired expertly with entrees, and artisan rolls/breads that perfectly compliment the sandwich they bookend. You needn't worry about venturing beyond their succulent smoked meats. Their steaks, sandwiches & burgers are some of the best in the valley. The owner (apologies, I don't know his name) is always present, always politicking/schmoozing, always making the rounds to insure his clientele is having a great experience. Such a throwback to a better time in the restaurant business. They have a sizable, well apportioned bar, but the dining room is far enough away to keep the family friendly vibe intact. BDs gets crazy busy nights & weekends, so be advised. It's a great barbecue place, a great local pub, & a great foodie location. I can't say enough good things about 'em. One last thing. So we ordered Dingle chips, they come with an Amazing dipping sauce. The corn bread is so Fresh and moist it doesn't need butter. We ordered the Bow Tie pasta and greens. Huge portion enough for two people to share. The food is amazing. I ordered it to go, and when I told the person on the phone I had a cast on and was there a pick up area she told me where to wait and she brought it out to me with a Huge Smile. Everything packed up very well. I cannot say enough about the quality of the food and the taste. One of my favorite places. I love this place. Years ago, was not this great. Over past few years, it just gets better and better each time I visit. My go to is the wedsnesday and Thursday half rack specials with two sides. Between 11 AM and 3 PM they have killer lunch specials. This place is killer every time. And again, if you are here years ago, and said "meh", then come back, this is unreservedly great BBQ, and being ex Air Force, where the majority of the bases are in the South, and where I would get good to great "Q" from South Carolina to Texas, this place stands up! This isn't a dig, it's just a pleasant surprise as I've had some questionable BBQ north of the Mason-Dixon line and Barry Dyngles has been a pleasant and welcomed surprise. The ribs are tender and delicious, they come with sauce but you can request to have one of the other sauces used in lieu of the house one. They also have weekly specials that are usually on point. The staff is friendly and makes the experience here along with the atmosphere very welcoming and warm; I can't find any faults here - even the delivery/take out is set up with a stand right at the front door for quick pick-up. read more

Of late I've been on the search for good BBQ. Seems like I'm in a different state once a week, but I can't seem to find a BBQ restaurant that I say say is top notch. I've tried BBQ restaurants in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, etc. well tonight I found the BBQ I've been looking for. This week I'm in Youngstown, Ohio on business and came across "Barry Dyngles". It looks like it's undergoing a renovation or a reconstruction. As you walk in your at a pair of hostess stations. I requested a booth, which was no problem. There are several long tables large enough to hold large groups, and tonight there were a number of groups dining. After looking over the menu I know immediately what I'm having. Kansas City BBQ Ribs. I give my order to a young man and before I know it my meal is in front of me. It's a half rack which considered of about 8-9 ribs. Very meaty and , fall off the bone, tender. BTW, my meal came with two sides. I chose baked beans and baked potato. Each booth has its own TV. Mine and from what I could see all others has an ad for vacationing in the Dominican Republic, a place I don't think I'd go to but the ads were pretty inviting. Hey, never say never. Yes this is real BBQ, the real deal. If I lived in this area I'd be a regular, maybe even have my own table. The only reason I couldn't give a full 5 Stars was the on going renovations.
